the video is even more disappointing after seeing cebos battle footage. thats his element. this video should have had hella battle footage. he schools his opponents in musicality - in his movements. wish this vid had that. also, cebo should do a vid of all lofting and ground move lessons. thats his signature. and advanced dancers all crave that type of info.
Thanks for the input Ginsushark. The reason for no battle footage is everyone has battle footage in their video. I wanted this to be more of an educational dvd about the basic elements of house, not necessarily a Cebo show DVD. But I do hear what you are saying about the syncing of the track. The solos I did in this video were done to those songs although. It was reedited after wards.
other times the music is dubbed in late. so his steps are out of synch.
his longer freestyles are somewhat repetitious compared to the short snippets of him teaching choreography to a class. I wish cebo would make another vid and do it right. plan ahead. choreograph some nice routines. teach more - demonstrate everything. he has some valuable styles to pass on.
There will be a part two and three where I talk about individual elements such as lofting and the floor and footwork and turns. Also hands and upper body. Thanks for buying it sorry it wasn't what you were expecting but I guess that was kind of the point.:)
the audio is horrible. Its not well recorded - you can barely hear cebo above loud background noise most of the time. it looks like the music was dubbed in during editing. some times it looks like cebo is dancing to a completely different track - right after he stresses the importance of really listening to each specific track and adjusting style to the music.
tis video is kinda disappointing. most of the video is interviews. cebo essentailly rambles about musicality. if he prepared something in advance he could have done a demonstration. the step lesson at the end is 4 eight counts. but its rushed. poorly explained and not well photographed. its all shot from the front and you have to flip everything left to right. they could have easily don that in post or shot it from the back to make it easier.
