Hey there just a little info there, you could change the colors on the the bottome mixer in cubase. All you have to do is select the channel you want to change color and press shift and the colors would pop out ;) just found out right now and I remember watching your video last night. I am also concerned about working with a video timeline inside of the program. I currently edit in Adobe Premier elements 9 but would at least appreciate composing to the video and then editing the video itself in PREL. If I am going to fork over this kind of $ 4 a platform, I want it 2 b the right one. Any suggestions? Another thought is that it seems that Avid has better customer service in the U.S. vs Steinberg based in Germany. Seems a little hoopy to get C.S. on Steinberg's site.

The one issue is that when you have the meters set up in this manner, it's not fully reflected in the arrange window.The arrange window meters only support one color and only mono and stereo metering. I wish they had the same metering support as the mixer so when you set the mixer meter colors it's the same in the arrange view also I wish they would support multi metering for surround channels like pro tools does.
How is the multi monitor support in Cubase 6? Do you still need to stretch the program window across all monitors or can panels be pulled out to different monitors. This has always been a pain for me in earlier Cubase versions. I hope to god this is fixed!

Not technically true. It depends on what you mean. Some DAW's have different dithering options which *do* affect sound quality, and they do use slightly different algorithms for processing data. Of course though, with source-to-source comparison with no features on, that is the case. Just wanted to point out that little caveat.
I dont know why they decided to sacrifice usability over cosmetic appearance on C6 . I would much preffer the color distinction on C5 faders on the mix window than on C6 making no distinction on whether its an FX, group midi etc.

Thanks for the comparison. For me, I see no reason to upgrade. The midi upgrade really doesn't seem to have any major practical use, and the audio stuff is just that . audio. Not something I use all that often. The upgrade price is very fair though. Only 150 dollars. I just wish Ableton Live would go to 64bit.
@KCJacksonMuz - this is just the cosmetic differences.. there are plenty of other reasons to upgrade.. i just won't be able to get many videos done on here about them due to concentrating on the Point Blank Online Cubase course.

Excellent vid. Useful info and comparison. ftr, I do the same exact thing w/the arranger...don't really use it but gives me a vis of where I am.
Also, If you didn't make any changes, C6 sounded better. You can hear the ride clearly nsm in C5.

That will be you and only you. There is NO difference in sound quality on cubase 3,4,5,6 or logic/pro tools for that part to.
