The movie adaption - he died cause the donor's family was against donating their son's heart. Takuma was prepared to die even though he was afraid and sad about leaving Mayu. So now after watching this I am confused. More so with so many views about the ending.

I'm really glad takuma lived in the end and had a family with Mayu. You choose the perfect song, it really suited the atmosphere. this manga really made me cry, you have to be cold hearted not to feel anything from their personal struggles in life. this manga was so well executed with it's great characters, great story, and great art. I'm sure anyone who reads this manga will love it.

like this chapter is about takuma writing a will to mayu.he writes about, if he is able to success on the operation, he wants to do that and this, and at the part where he cries he writes something like, "Instead of me, i wish for mayu's happiness, so please even if i die go and have a happy family with another guy." but he doesn't want that to happen and doesn't want to die. and in the end he takes an operation and it is a success
