  • Very creative !!

  • It's possible you can a video about the situation at the airport?, when you travel it's a little difficult to understand whay they say on it, in special when they change the fly and when they call you in order to abording the plane.

I'm improving my english with your videos

    Thank you very mucho

    See you

    Ximena from Chile

  • @ximenadel61 Have you seen my video, At the Airport, at my Linguaspectrum channel?

  • Brilliant!!

  • Hi professor! ^^

The vid is very helpful and interesting, but I do have some questions and hope you can make it clear for me. (Is the usage of "make it clear" here correct?)

-"That might do it": Can we replace it with "That might work" ?

-That would "make time" for me to do all the things I need... I read somewhere and I met "make the time", could you differentiate the two expressions ?

    Thank you so much ^^

  • I know I might be asking too much, but do you have the script? I'd like to have it.

    Regards.

  • @MyComicalRomanc Sorry, but this one was before I started adding the scripts to the videos and to my website. We live and learn. All of my newest videos do now have full scripts.

  • @Linguaspectrum // Thanks for replying! I started writing the script before I could read your reply. I have it already written. If you want to have it, send me a PM.

NB.: It'd be nive if you could upload a version without the text balloons. Some peopel could use it (especially me) in a lesson (as the video is very interesting and has all the things needed to use it in them).

  • @MyComicalRomanc I have uploaded a version without the text balloons - well, they're hidden anyway.

I hope you find it useful. You will find it in the video response.

  • @EnglishSocialNetwork // Thanks for posting the video (again), but don't you have a version WITHOUT text balloons (I mean, not hidden but WITHOUT them.)

  • @MyComicalRomanc That's the best I can do.

  • @Linguaspectrum // Okay, thanks anyway! I think I'm going to try erasing the captions... I dunno how to do it, but I think I would figure it out!

  • Nothing to criticise... Very understandable, nice example and great video... I SUBSCRIBED TO YOUR CHANNEL!!!

  • very good teacher, congratulations! I'm from Brazil and is really good learn with you, thanks! Can we say that to DO is what I execute and to MAKE what I produce? See u!

  • @regiabreu1 Hi. Thanks for watching and for commenting.

"Do" is used for general ideas, for daily activities or jobs which don't produce a physical object, and in some important expressions. "Make" is used when we construct or create something that we can actually touch, and also in many common expressions where the verb "do" might seem appropriate. You'll just have to do your best to learn this tricky part of English if you don't want to make mistakes.

  • Thanks dear teacher... :)

  • neh eheh nhee heee haaa english jokes

  • This is wonderful!!

    Thank you so much!!

  • I think that what you DO in a day could MAKE a video more interesting than this one...

XD just kidding, good job... as always... it DOES my day!!! XD (sorry I couldn't resist)

  • @jazpertube Thanks for watching and for your comments. This is a tricky area for students of English and I hope this small contributions helps.

By the way, it's "makes my day." In the Clint Eastwood films, where he plays the character of Dirty Harry, he often says, "Go ahead, Punk. Make my day!"

    Best wishes,

    Richard

  • @Linguaspectrum oh my goodness Richard, that was supposed to be a joke!!>:(

don't mind, it wasn't a good one, I suppose... thank you anyway

  • @jazpertube Hi Jasper, sorry I didn't "get" the joke you made. I just wanted to clarify the use of "make my day" for the sake of other students who might get confused. Anyway, your comments and your interest in my work has certainly made my day. It also makes my day to know that through my videos I am able to reach someone 17,216 kilometres away from where I'm sitting.

    Best wishes,

    Richard.

  • @Linguaspectrum you don't have to be sorry about that man... now my failing joke is an addendum to your lesson! ... Glad to be reached by you!:)

    cheers from italy

  • Thanks very much for your precious videos!

  • super vid! :-) its a pleasure to watch them all.

  • thanks a lot. Hope to see more videos coming soon.

  • I'll make do with this vidéo, if you don't mind my saying so ,

I'll take my hat off to you for your job, well done.

    Yours

    Thierry

  • Thank you for the video, I really appreciate your time for help us

  • It is good video. This video pleased me.

  • Thanks for watching the video and for your comments.

Look to the video description for an explanation and then see which things in the video use "make" or "do". You cannot interchange "make" or "do" in any of the common expressions I have used in the video.

    Best wishes,

    Richard

  • nice video. but it does not explain differences between make and do. From this video it seems they're interchangeable.
