E outra coisa, pq é q vc me está chamando de preto? Vc vai fazer o seguinte. Vc vai pegar numa botija de sodium hexafluoride e outra de helium. Uma para o seu pito, e outra para meter no cu. Vc me entendeu?? Sai fora desse video se vc só veio para insultar. Este video é para gente com um cérebro ... e não para você.

  • @obobao experimenta.

  • Opa

  • Sounds just like Penn from Penn and Teller

  • @supermassively It's not about the speed at which the airwaves travel through the medium, but actually the frequency at which the vocal cords can oscillate under the effects of different fluid densities. The heavier and more dense sulfur hexafluoride dampens the movements of the vocal cords, causing a lower frequency and therefore lower pitch sound to be emitted.

You may already know this and just have been trying to point out the flaw in Adam's explanation, but there's a more accurate one.

  • wtf are you retards arguing at supermassive for given he's the one person bothered enough to actually question things using facts.

    fucktards!

  • The second one looks much more cooler ! You sounded like a monster !

  • Lol @ supermassively

You may think your smart, yet you get so mad over YouTube comments. Being able to recite facts doesn't necessarily make one intelligent. ;)

  • Omg the low voice could possible be the funniest thing I've ever heard xD

I wanna hear Jamie on it. His voice made lower will become inaudible to the human ear ;P

  • like somebody else said on a different video of this

he sounds like penn from penn & teller

  • The lower voice was SO awesome! XD I laughed my ass off.

  • His explanation makes no sense. Sound waves travel faster in a MORE-dense substance. They travel faster in water than in air, and faster in metal than in water. They don't travel any appreciable amount in the vacuum of space.

They travel faster in a denser substance because the molecules are closer together and therefore can propagate more easily.

Likewise, the waves should propagate more quickly in Sulfur Hexafluoride, as it is more dense than air.

  • @Supermassively oh shut up we dont care

  • @OdouDog And this is why the human race is getting more and more stupid... because nobody cares to learn about science or how things work anymore. You just care about who wins on American Idol, when the next Kanye West album comes out, and what loot drops for you in WoW. Useless piece of shit. Have fun flipping burgers for the rest of your life, mindless drone.

  • @Supermassively Umad?

  • @OdouDog Case in point. Fucking piece of garbage.

  • it's denser so the air flows over the vocal chords slower than air... i.e helium is going to rush past your larynx quicker

It has nothing to do with how fast the sound travels through the air but more how the air is passed over the vocal chords.?

    COOL? col. :)

Ignore the fucktards who will be working macdonalds the rest of their natural lives

  • @Supermassively It's caused by the interface between the He/SF6 and atmosphere. The vibrations made in the gas he inhaled would result in his regular voice if there was no regular air between that gas and the microphone. Different gases creates an interface, changing the speed of propagation. Sound waves that travel slowly through the helium gas speed up when they hit regular air, making a high pitch. Sound waves that travel slowly in SF6 slow down when they hit regular air, making a low pitch.

  • @OhHerro50 That still makes no sense. It should obviously travel faster in SF6, but even if hitting the atmosphere does slow it down, its frequency couldn't possibly be lowered any further than it would be in air.

  • lmfao

  • what episode is this from?

  • I will always laugh at this... Always.

  • @InuyashaKagomae4ever LOLLLLLL

  • AND YET SOMEHOW I'M STILL FUNNY

    [evil laugh]

  • ROFLLLLLLLLL

  • Penn Jillette?

  • OMG!!!! I MUST TRY THAT!!!

  • He sounds like Penn from Penn & Teller when he inhales the Sulfer Hexafluoride

  • I'll try this in my home :D

  • My mind. It's blown.

  • keep pressing 9 for evil laugh

  • keep pressing 8 and before that say mi pennis is...

  • Ahahahahahahahahahahaahaah

  • WHIPPED CREAM POURING LIKE WATERFAAAAAALLS!

  • @slatox LOL

  • Scared 4 lyfe

  • don't do this at home, the air can get stuck in your lungs what with it being heavier than air. adam was probably made to hang upside down for 10-20 minutes after this

  • @teganyavo what happens if it gets stuck in your lungs O.O

  • @MicroMouse007 You would suffocate and die. That's why helium or sulfur hexafloride (or any pure gas other than oxygen) can be extremely dangerous if inhaled. People have died from breathing in helium because they're stopping the inflow of oxygen, but their bodies don't react with that "can't breath" feeling.

  • @teganyavo 20 minutes? Maybe 2. It only took 2 or 3 breaths to get the helium out, couldn't take much longer for the heavy gas when upside down. Gravity would likely take care of most of it.

  • HAHA YES

  • That was awesome

  • it's scientific! HA HA HA HA HA

  • "I AM BATMAN"

  • I like the way the second balloon pops off the tank....

  • bill nye of today's generation

  • omg. practically just fell off my bed from laughing.

  • Swag

  • judging by all the videos under "suggestions", people tried it at home anyway

  • dont try it at home, too much of either gas will kill you

  • why can't we try this at home?

  • @Fig1024 because it can cause a severe lack in oxygen, and you could pass out. if you do it really bad you can suffer brain damage or it could straight up kill you if you inhale A LOT of it.

  • @Fig1024 Because inhaling heavy gases can cause you to suffocate and die.

  • prank calls would be the shit on sulfur hexafluoride

  • sounded like penn jillette

  • @yomommaisme7 haha, I have a pennpoint video open in another tab and this made me laugh even more.

  • Oh God I gotta get me some of that sulfur hexafluoride.

  • shopping list: videogames, helium, sulfur hexafluoride, script for a play with a very evil character. With my already low voice, IT will work out marvelously.

  • So, Fred inhales Helium before recording? Interesting.

  • On Sulfur Hexafluoride he sounds like Penn Jillette.

  • dang it!!!!!! THIS VIDEO MADE ME BUST MY LIVER OUT HAHAHAHAHAAH IM LAUGHING SO HARD IN DROOLING!!!!!!!!!!!!! I JUST FELL OUT OF MY CHAIR!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ITS STILL SCIENTIFIC!!!! HAHAHAHA! Adamis one funny as hell guy.

  • @tansin9 what happened to bob?

  • haha that was funny

  • hahaha this guy is amazing!!!

  • inhale the heavier stuff and scare the shit outta someone,,,,,imagine being woken up to that O.O

  • THAT'S A RADIOHEAD T-SHIRT

  • I want the Sulfur Hexaflouride ! :)

  • now i wanna know where to get some sulfer hexaflouride

  • hahahaha

  • Move over Helium, voice alteration has a new best friend!

  • LOL I love Adam Savage. He's just hilarious. That man is always energetic.

  • Yeah he's like the opposit of Jaime Hyneman.

  • they complete eachother :P

  • @barnmaster98 they should marry :P

  • This video never gets old XD

  • OMG!! lolz this is hilarious

  • lol

  • haha f*ing awesome

  • I think he did mean both, but especially Helium because you notice how hard he breathes to try to get the helium out of his lungs before he can't breathe no longer?

  • I think he did that to get the Helium out of his lungs so that his voice was back to normal when he inhaled the Sulfur hexafluoride .

  • No, he didn't do it to get the helium out of his lungs out of a health issue, he simply did it to make his voice go back to normal faster. I have done this multiple times and it doesn't affect health.

  • what gas is it xD

  • SATAN! lol if i get that im so going to a baptist church or some church and when they say does any1 need to be baptised ill go up there with a balloon and inhale the hexafluoride and say every1 bow down to the power of SATAN. Lol thats what my bro says.

  • if you really did that and got someone to record it, you would be my all time favorite hero hahahaha

  • Im The 1.282

  • Hahaha can't stop laughing... :0)

  • I can't either!!

  • It's like his voice just underwent a nuclear explosion. I lol'd so very hard.

  • lmfao
