Rudo y Cursi review: Decent review. Excellent film and the casting and direction are superb, the music: amusing, hip and fun, and the cinematography is brilliant!

Programming through parsecs is the only why to get through hyperspace. The Falcon has the most efficient navigational system it can navigate through star systems in hyperspace cutting down the amount of parsecs needed to get from point A to point B. This was explained by George Lucas in several interviews dating back to 1982.

Regarding parsecs: Actually it's like saying they went from point A to point B in 20 miles, when the road goes around and does it in 30. Considering the Kessel Run involves skirting a black hole, running closer to the event horizon gets you there faster... if your ship is fast enough to not get sucked in. :p Hence, fast.
