Hey Fritz, Love your videos, nice work..... I'm curious and was wondering why some Heat Pumps I've seen are on legs or supports and some just sit flat on the pad? What are these legs made of and how are they attached to the heat pump? Are they bolted to the unit and the pad?
What are the snow legs made of and how are they attached to the heat pump? Are they bolted to the unit and the pad? Can they be added to a heat pump that's already installed and in use?
A strong Resin Plastic , the ones I get have a Grove in them and fit right into the bottom of my American Standard Units , they also have a double side adhesive strip with them if the grooves will not fit unit !! They are not Bolted to either Unit or Pad !!!
They can be added afterward but thats tricky , you risk crimping Lineset !!!
I just did a maintenance, and cleaned all the junk out of the bottom of a rheem unit last week. It had bearings going out of the blower motor. I was back today to replace the blower, and the landscapers had filled up the outdoor unit with mulch!!! Grrrrr!!!
They don't care, I don't know how many Transformers I have been on because they Weed Wacked the Control Wire !!!
Thats like asking your Customer to Tell there Lawn Guys not to Blow There Grass Right into our Units, Pull up on the Job( LOL),and what are they doin ! LOL
Heck with It, Blow all the Grass & Mulch in There All you Want Too , for that matter Don't Change your Filters Either , just Put Me on Speed Dial and i'll Come Back Once a Month !!! ROFL
Hey Fritz!! Another Awesome check and clean video!! MIke and Brenda have a nice home there. I like that sink too, pretty cool!!
Nice American Standard system. Install looks great! Man,I like the dual fuel set up. That's the best of both worlds right there!!
You went the extra mile cleaning her up!! I think that really does make a difference. That system will last for many years with you taking care of it !!
That is the same system I have at my home, except I have the last of the R22 systems !!!
I really like dual fuel, Energy Savings , and when it drops down below freezing for a long period of time, I can just switch over to Emergency Heat , and Bam here comes the Gas Fired Furnace !!!
Its all about Maintenance Maintenance Maintenace !!! LOL ...

@bobrub Hey Bob !!!
Whats up my Friend !!!
All Heat Pumps have a Defrost Cycle (Timed , or On Demand) , when the Heat Pump
Defrosts there are a series of Holes in the Bottom of the units where the Defrost Water Can Escape !!!
People who Own Heat Pumps should make sure these Holes are Clear of Debris !!!
It really depends on your Area as to Having the Legs , it is Code Here that we need to be off the ground 4" to 6" because of Snow !!!
We call them Snow Legs here !!!
Thank You very much !
