Mmk here's what I heard.. The script for the 5th is d-d-done!! But people are saying it is going to be a stand-alone film. So no trilogy I'm guessing. Johnny wants to return as Captain Jack as long as it sells well and people still like it. I feel, personally, that there would be no "Pirates" films without him!! There are also rumors that Orlando Bloom is returning and that Mr. Russel Brand may be cast as Jack's brother, Johnathan. Disney says that 5 & 6 will have to be filmed back to back. :)

@ImAMarineBiologist, they were hoping that OST would be start of a new trilogy, and there will at least come out a fifth film. The stories will be stand-alone, in other words: A to B plot where the movie builds up something that is completed in the end of the film instead of building up something for a sequel film. So there will be no more "to be continued" plots. But the films will of course somehow connect. For example, the magic sword will probably be in the 5th and that connects to OST.

@ImAMarineBiologist, also, rumors are rumors. Nothing to think deeply about. The Russel Brand playing as Jack's brother rumor was out before OST. And when OST came out, no Russel. Orlando has stated his interest of returning but I see no reason to let him do so. Also, I think that it has been stated before by Bruckheimer that shooting back-to-back would not be done since it didn't work out well with AWE.

@DeppDawson, there is no reliable source that says that he isn't sure. What he has said though, is that he would most definitely consider to go back into the costume as long as he likes the script and all the difficult pieces in the plot are solved. Even before OST they had bunch of ideas to choose from. The script isn't finished but they are working on a draft :D
