Planning to do this climb next year. Thanks for the video! For anyone wondering whether "climbing" Mt Whitney requires harness and ropes, the answer is no. The final scramble up to the summit is a class 3, meaning you'll be using both your feet and hands to climb up and not require ropes. Probably a very good idea to wear a helmet due to loose rocks.
I didnt notice your group doing any climbing in this vieo, and i was of the belief that the Mountaneering Route required climbing harnesses helmets and the whole nine yards lol Am i mistaken? Just wondering because im ineteresting in going this july
