Kodak zi8 ext mic comparison review using fw 1.06

The difference is not until you get into a higher decibel atmosphere such as a concert. That's when the bass seems to override the mid's-high's. That's where having one with the Sony mod is better. I have the standard fake one and it works great for the laptop-based mobile studio I use to record with my friends just for fun. But, I will either be getting the REAL Sony version or doing a mic-swap.

cheap sound without the first external mic but acceptable low frequencies, the original sony its like saturated i dont like the sound thats for sure, but might it be because you put high sound gain? idk, im just guessing.. however, with that configurations, i prefer the modified sony

Well, I did not liked the internal audio mode's sound at all, even it was a Kodak's upgrade! I think Aiptek can do better on their units! Agree?

It's a challange becasue Aiptek has the sterio internal, kodak will next model, that they are keeping under their belts. but Aiptek has to come out with a sterio port. its agreed both can do a whole lot beter.

that is why i questioned. If a internal mic is what you're after you have to mod, ifa ext of tht , as well, so rather destroy something good think twice. I suggest if it does not ahve leave alone, its sad to hear sony did not go that way.

Kodak does sell an optional remote control for the Zi8. And I noticed the face detection sometimes detected a face on the TV screen instead of yours, which drastically changed the exposure during that moment!
