I fought in the era just before they MADE you wear headgear and then in the era when you had no choice but to wear headgear. If your headgear came off in the bout they would stop it and make you put it back on. You didn't have the choice of going without it. Headgear is more of a hindrance than a help in a fight.
.Boxers back then are wayy better then boxers today.... Just look at the 2008-2009 toughman fighters........They all suck.
Oh and comparing yourself to kimbo is just..... lets put it this way, if he hits you once,your falling down. not because your knocked out, but just because his powerful punches.

I have been in the ring against opponets who would have knocked out kimbo in three rounds or less and beat them.Sledge hammer being one former opponet weighed in at 238 and was 6-2 .Sledge hammer was put here on youtube. We fought each other twice. The first time I stopped him late in the 3rd round with a body punch. I have also fought Tony Tucker and lost a close decision. Looking to put that one on youtube soon.

LOL I have the utmost respect for Tysons ability In fact 10 years ago I had an altercation in a bar in upstate NY. sOME DUMB ASS RED NECK HEARD ME SAYING TO SOMEONE HOW i WOULD HATE TO FIGHT tYSON IN A STREET FIGHT. tHIS JERK SAIDF HE WOULD WHOOP HIS ASS IN THE STREET as he was a boxer not a street fighter. I put up 200 to his 20 and it ended not in his favor. Everyone bought me drinks all night.
Boxingkid the main reason why wassnt fighting bigger fights was mainly these fights were not sanctioned and I had been long retired from competition. I was competong here for the fun of it. My opponets were not to experienced in the ring and were mostly bar room brawlers.

Alex Ramos was another former opponet.I do have other fights on you tube under jimmydkaraoke Sledgehammer being one.Extremely hard puncher and a professional. I was trying to point out Kimbo without boxing experience is not that good. As far as Kimbo faster? This may appear this way due to the fact Kimbos gloves are 4 oz the gloves we are using in the toughmsn were 16 oz
Nobody important86, I respect your view and I realize the guy im fighting was not the best. Everytime you step into the ring you can learn.When I used to fight inexperienced fighters I never took advantage by kocking them out but fought defensive which was why I used to get alot of challengers.
On the otherhand fighters I have fought? Tony Tucker when he was # 1 in the world 1980. This was with queensbury rules 10 oz gloves at the time he weighed 215lbs me 195.
Current I am 50 years old. These fights were toughman competitions were when I was in early 40s. The video of me sparring with Floyd was when he was about 43 I was 17

Hey go4it22 I have fought bigger guys then Kimbo Slice and have always came out victorious.Sure some were stiffs but then I have been against others that would have koed slice. Kimbo uses intimidation. I used to love fighting opponets much larger in fact prefering them over the smaller guys as they were easier to hit and were much slower. Slice is so slow you can see his puncns before he even throws it!!
You can box good against chumps. Dont say you can beat Kimbo slice. He is unskilled but he out powers his opponents. You couldnt last a round with him.
