Thank you for posting this. When it was first broadcast, it helped settle some of that romantic tension between Joel and Maggie--and was the first time Etta James' great song really 'registered' with me. It still brings tears to my eyes.

i truly believe dear ETTA would be Proud to know her song was used in this way. she stayed from the conventions of her day as did this This amazing tv show. first time i ever saw 2 men dance together on a major tv show. Etta and Northern exposure...thank you!

Cheers, Mash, Seinfeld, The X-Files, and Northern Exposure had some of the best writers of all-time.

NE was the most under-rated TV series.

Sadly, they don't make them like this anymore.
