When me and my hubby got married, the cost of out wedding was about a thousand bucks, total :) And it was still beautiful etc. It's the not the price of the wedding, it's the love and commitment that makes the marriage. Beckpatton, wearing a 2nd dress is more common than you may think. I've been to weddings where this was done, one was a Chinese American wedding and the bride wore a "American style white dress" then changed into a traditional red ChongSam. It was really beautiful. Another wedding, the bride had a full ball gown which was hard for her to move in then she changed into a beautiful sheath and she could dance the night a way.
Wearing a second dress is kind of practical because when you go in the ceremony,you aren't moving much,just walking up and down the aisle,but when you are at the party, bride is expected to say hello and thank people,not to mention dance, so a second,more comfortable and simple dress is needed. Its kind of like taking pictures with heel and wearing sneakers afterwards
practical or not, I myself will never understand it.. why not just pick a dress that you will be comfortable in the whole day? that to me is more practical.. it is possible to look like a princess and be comfortable and dance ready at the same time! I never wanted a big wedding. My husband and I just did the vows at a quiet little chapel, with parents present and that was it. Then he and I ate chocolate cake to celebrate. Then we spent the day on the beach looking for seashells. No ugly white dress, no headaches, no cash down the drain. It was perfect. I think the women on these shows are shallow beyond belief.

Who wears a 2nd dress to their reception?? I know people used to get changed at the end of the reception before saying goodbye and leaving for their honeymoon, but really, a dress for the ceremony then a dress for the reception????? Some people have more money than sense.... this wedding is also a perfect example that money can't buy you taste either.. I thought the ceremony looked hideous!

Beckpatton, wearing a 2nd dress is more common than you may think. I've been to weddings where this was done, one was a Chinese American wedding and the bride wore a "American style white dress" then changed into a traditional red ChongSam. It was really beautiful. Another wedding, the bride had a full ball gown which was hard for her to move in then she changed into a beautiful sheath and she could dance the night a way.

Wearing a second dress is kind of practical because when you go in the ceremony,you aren't moving much,just walking up and down the aisle,but when you are at the party, bride is expected to say hello and thank people,not to mention dance, so a second,more comfortable and simple dress is needed. Its kind of like taking pictures with heel and wearing sneakers afterwards

practical or not, I myself will never understand it.. why not just pick a dress that you will be comfortable in the whole day? that to me is more practical.. it is possible to look like a princess and be comfortable and dance ready at the same time! It's just a waste of money, but hey if you've got it, go for it... A wedding dress is special, and I am only going to wear it the once, so I am gonna make the most of it!

yeah,but sometimes the dresses that look the most beautiful are sometimes a bit uncomfortable,besides I have worked for some brides who are total klutzes and were afraid of ruining the dress with food or something,so I offered them a cheaper more comfortable second dress that isnt all glammed.

Jeez... I know a guy who spent 14500 euros on a wedding dress that she bought with his visa. It got this lovely wine stain down the front of it. She practically threw it away (he rescued it and sold it at 7000 euro. That is simply crazy. I cannot fathom the need for that kind of spending.

I never wanted a big wedding. My husband and I just did the vows at a quiet little chapel, with parents present and that was it. Then he and I ate chocolate cake to celebrate. Then we spent the day on the beach looking for seashells. No ugly white dress, no headaches, no cash down the drain. It was perfect. I think the women on these shows are shallow beyond belief.
