The Bible says the way to receive salvation is to admit you are a sinner and cannot save yourself, believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, and to accept into your heart as your Personal Savior. I really just don't get why people have to twist this and say either it's a horrible sacrifice that will ruin your life (from haters) or have to have a priest purify you (or be sprinkled with water.) It's a simple gift of salvation and unlimited forgiveness; all you have to do is accept it.

The holy spirit enables us to communicate with God.. but it can happen on different ways.
Depending on how God wants to work and how good your bond with God is.
Try to see it like this: you have to learn to understand a voice.. if you are in the midst of alot of people.. you are most likely to recognize your mothers voice for example.. because you learned to know it.
But it's your own choice how much you want to communicate. you can also choose not to listen or to talk.
Now for how:
I actually know people personally where God talked directly to them. it doesn't happen that often tho. (and there's a reason for that of course)
But God also sometimes reacts through a very strong feeling. or an thought that is not your own. (well you have to expierence it to understand this type)
And sometimes in other ways. like through other people or dreams

The Bible says the way to receive salvation is to admit you are a sinner and cannot save yourself, believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, and to accept into your heart as your Personal Savior. I really just don't get why people have to twist this and say either it's a horrible sacrifice that will ruin your life (from haters) or have to have a priest purify you (or be sprinkled with water.) It's a simple gift of salvation and unlimited forgiveness; all you have to do is accept it.

It's not repenting of your sins that allows you to go to Heaven; it's to truly accept Salvation from Jesus Christ, God's son who died on the cross for everyone's sins. About that firefighter comment, it's because good deeds are not enough alone to save yourself from Hell. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Unless you repent AND accept Jesus into your heart, you cannot be saved.

@gato123452 It's sad and hard for me to say this, but it is a possibility. However, when we accept Salvation, Jesus tells us to go out and be witnesses for him, showing others about this gift. We are supposed to accept the gift of salvation from Jesus and then WE are supposed to go tell others about it, so they can believe and accept it and do not suffer the fate of hell.

the holy spirit is the spirit of God.
It has many uses, it makes it easier to connect to God for example ( i will get back on this later)

I was a born again Christian for many years - and convinced I had the Holy Spirit in me, and was being guided by Jesus...ironically, this belief actually led me to stop believing.

but since you asked about the communication/interaction i will focus on that.
The holy spirit enables us to communicate with God.. but it can happen on different ways.
Depending on how God wants to work and how good your bond with God is.
Try to see it like this: you have to learn to understand a voice.. if you are in the midst of alot of people.. you are most likely to recognize your mothers voice for example.. because you learned to know it.
It's the same thing with God

But it's your own choice how much you want to communicate. you can also choose not to listen or to talk.
Now for how:
I actually know people personally where God talked directly to them. it doesn't happen that often tho. (and there's a reason for that of course)
But God also sometimes reacts through a very strong feeling. or an thought that is not your own. (well you have to expierence it to understand this type)
And sometimes in other ways. like through other people or dreams

Children are people too and are entitled to express their beliefs. If a parent tells a child they will go to hell for not believing in god the child will believe it and willingly practice religion. That's their choice. If a parent keeps telling a child something and the result is mental anguish... that's abuse. I think that's reasonable. What do you think?

@lunarjog Totally wrong. A child is vired to AUTOMATICALLY belive in what the parents tells them, when they are young. So if you tell your child he will go to Hell, he will believe it. Imagine being a parent, this really is child abuse.

I don't see how this is any different than letting a kid sit at home and watch tv all day, gaining their morals from cartoons filled with violence and sexual undertones.
In my opinion, letting a kid live in this chaotic world is abuse.

The most important thing is nobody knows squat shit, but everyone assumes they do especially when it comes to kids.

Whats child abuse about the first two isn't so immediantly obvious, but these children have all been told at least one thing in common about christianity, hell. Hell to a child is a very real place in their mind, very scary and a good way for the clergy to keep them in line, ready to replenish the christian ranks when they grow up. To tell a child hell is real is like telling them every night that they are worthless and will be killed the following night.
