I can't remember what blues song, but that riff is from some blues song I believe and it gets used all over the place. Jack is doing a cover that someone used it in the song Jack the Ripper.

Actually Jack the Ripper was originally by a guy called Screaming Lord Sutch back in the 70's.

So technically, Screaming Lord Sutch stole the riff, and Jack White covered it.

Maybe, definitely his stuff pushes Jack;s stuff pshes more boundaires, i think thouhg slashy may have the edge technique wise, but possibly not, very different styles too, jack's playiong style is very unique to him, and makes to hard to compare him to other players even in the same genre.

They may be easy for you to play,but music like the White Stripes wouldn't exist with out these artists. Take the Beatles for instance, they changed the face of music as we know it. If you look at their career, they went from making cute little pop songs ( I saw Her Standing There)..to writing

complexy orchestrated songs( A Day In The Life or Strawberry Fields). I can't think of many other artsists who's music has evolved that much over their career.There were musical genius'around before Jack
