I prefer the ipad you can turn the back light down and read just fine. plus the fact that reading is just a single app on ipad and you can do much more with it haha
I noticed when I made my own video of the NC running CyanogenMod7 that you see this flicker of the screen on video--there's no evidence of that effect when using the NC.
@yourcriptanite The B&N apps market is a recent development--this video went up months ago. It is somewhat limited, with few free apps and many apps priced higher than their Android Market equivalents. Your best bet IMO is to set up CyanogenMod7 (Android Gingerbread 2.3.4) to run from uSD card, giving access to all markets while leaving your stock OS intact. Google "daylight nook odyssey" for my experience and the resources I used to set it up.
It seems like the nook went from e-ink which is easy to read without strain on the eyes, to an lcd screen like a computer or ipad which kind of defeats the purpous of the nook.
I have both a kindle 2 and ipad, and have found that I enjoy reading on the ipad much better than the kindle. However, it is clunky and heavy. The nook color looks like it would be so much easier to hold and carry around in my person.

What's wrong with the Nook Color display? On camera it looks like it is flashing like a CRT.
