  • Amazing models. Makes me wonder why you wouldn't start a new game from scratch instead of creating a place that's so out of the way of Morrowind's story and art style. Just make everybody bretons, nords and imperials since they all look human (Except maybe have orcs for that fantasy element).

Just imagining the graphical impact of this city with the Shadows mod and some nice HDR and sky mods, and perhaps some canals with the water shaders on full blast. Good as a modern game...

  • Hum it looks like Skingrad.

  • Grand theft horse Vvardenfell.

  • Well, to the top comments, planetelderscrolls sent me here through the post with the title "Victorian City of Jarvik"... just sayin...

  • This looks excellent. Arcanum comes to mind...

  • Victorian Fantasy, that could be interesting.

  • @acidparanoia Lion Head is onto something big. RPG's don't have to be totally medieval-inspired, nor should they be.

  • looks like medal of honour

  • Dragonquest music = Epic

    This Mod = Epic

  • Look spiffy, but is there gonna be a questline to tie all this together?

  • song name?

  • Nice job!

  • Looks like The Witcher ^^

  • This makes me want to fetch my pipe and magnifying glass.

  • This city is not actually in Morrowind it is located on a chain of islands elsewhere in Tamriel.

You just get to it via Morrowind :P

There is now also an Alpha release of this mod available for anyone interested in exploring this large city.

You'll find it at over at Planet Elder Scrolls - Victorian City of Jarvik

  • Should have been made on oblivion since it fits the theme

though I really like it, imperial capital in the province of morrowind is awesome

  • Looks like something from an old Medal of Honor game I played for The Playstation a long time ago. Like a small city somewhere in Europe. Nice. :)

  • It could be a TC (total conversion) but what good would come of throwing out all of the gameplay rules and existing world when the two can exist side by side yet never overlapping?

  • I think its pretty funny (aka retarded) that people say buildings built with brick and mortar are out of place in a world where steam powered robots exist. Besides, its not a mod designed to appeal strictly to Morrowind fans but to people who like good things in general. It just happens to run on the Morrowind engine.

  • Elder Scrolls 6 o.o

  • Looks like a cross between Oblivion and Fable.

  • Elder Scrolls XII?

  • Comment removed

  • This doesnt look like morrowind, but it looks so amazing maybe set in highrock or what cyrodiil should have looked like. It looks so much better than any city in oblivion!

  • Has 0% Morrowind feel whatsoever.

  • there shouldn't be big cities in morrowind, its supposed to be an uncivilized alien world with different houses struggling for power

  • @BigCityProject Hey just an idea, alot of people will not download or use any mods that go against lore. I have an i dea though, Vvardenfell is more Ashlander than it is industrial and lived cities. But Mainland Morrowind, especially the House Hlaalu parts have huge city's as they are a merchant house. I suggest maybe incorporating the town somewhere in Narsis in the Mod Tamriel Rebuilt. Anyways just an idea, best of wishes

  • Looks great, Shannon. I still remember when you first suggested the idea at The Lys! Hope all is well.

  • How long have u been doing this? An idiots, it is Morrowind.

  • Why is London from the 40's in Morrowind?

  • @zephrameliasfoster Because its lore friendly

  • This is simple amazing! I am really looking forward to playing this! Please complete it!

  • This isn't Morrowind.

  • YELLOW CAB!

  • Wow, this city is immense for a modern Elder Scrolls game but it feels completely out if place in Morrowind. However I do see it as a far better depiction of the Imperial city than Oblivion's tiny doll house version. Seriously the empire's capital is smaller than Morrowind's? Really now

  • I would love you forever if you did this in Skyrim... Skyrim just doesn't have any good CITY cities :(

  • Song name?

  • What's the song name?

  • While I think this is a fascinating project it makes me wonder why Morrowind and why not Oblivion or Skyrim? But I am grateful that such an old classic game such as MW is kept alive even to this date. I'm also curious as to where in Vvardenfell this city is located or perhaps it is in the mainland of Morrowind.

  • Okay, okay, everything's cool, but this is frankly what'd happen to Morrowind if it stayed in the Empire for too long.

  • As much as I appreciate the dedication. I think this would ruin the feel of Morrowind.

Morrowind felt alien, that's part of what made it amazing

  • @ThringtonBennet I agree to this one, it doesn't rhyme too well with the atmosphere of the Morrowind game. But I'm sure there is a way to make it more "magic" than it is now.

  • @CraigMerton Adding more detail to the current landscape. Work on the atmospherics and lighting. The designs are there, all that is needed is a graphics update.

  • @ThringtonBennet Ok, it's just that the scenes at 0:15, 0:24, 0:36-0:38, 0:44 don't really feel like Morrowind.

  • Wow, that's incredible. Really impressive.

I will say that it looks quite a bit more modern than morrowind though.

  • Elder Scrolls Adventures: BRITAIN

  • @finalfatasyfreak49

Haha yeah indeed! Morrowind was a game I played A LOT when i was a small lad, Vivec confused the shout outta me :D

  • @finalfatasyfreak49

Balmora? XD If vivec aint big enough for you you have serious problems and should just play minecraft :)

  • Why does this remind me of the old medal of honor games???

  • @RogerabbitGosu Because it looks like 1940s Britain. lol

  • How are you doing on this mod? Are you going to finish it soon?

  • Amazing work bro!

  • Looks more victorian than medieval fantasy.

  • @ArtVandalay1984 good.. cuz morrowind doesnt look like medieval fantasy

  • @dfghj241 Morrowind = Alien world. Oblivion = Medieval fantasy.

  • @ArtVandalay1984 This is the beauty of the vickies.

  • It's a oblivion city!

  • Doesn't look like Morrowind...

  • where have I heard this song before?

  • @StarlightDragon i am pretty sure its a song from dragon quest 8 its a great game

  • @StarlightDragon thats the flight theme from dragon quest 8 its just so good i dont know the right words for it

    /watch?v=vamr7qq6hoA&feature=related

  • @deathbringerfromhell OH YEAH! I love this song, thank you for letting me know. I knew I recognized it.

  • Сказочна!

  • Why, that's just phenomenal!

  • Looks brilliant. I wish tesV had the same, more modern kind of feel. The traditional fantasy medievil setting has really been done to death, and this kind of archetecture and culture would bring new possibilities into the genre.

  • @Arfien3 yea, I can see where your coming from. Like how fabel 3 (how dare I speak that name!) went into kind of the steam punk era. BUT, I think the Elder Scroll will always be Fantasy/Medievil. It just fits so perfectly together. There's just something about an elder scrolls game that draws you into it. I've played nearly every RPG I can get my hands on and TES just has that complex, deep, simplicity about it. You aren't bombarded by stats and useless items. Just my opinion. :)

  • By the Nine! Amazing!

  • lol dragonquest music for the win...

  • that mod, drools... and that music brings back memories i think i am going to look for my ps2 now

  • What song is this i think I've heard it....maybe in an anime? Maybe by Hayao Miyazaki?

  • @ChoclatexLesbians lols its from dragon quest

  • please dont need tribunal and bloodmoon....

  • stop right there criminal scum

  • nice i have been waiting for a mod like this!

  • Pretty piss-poor at best.

  • isn't that the dragon quest 8 music?

  • 0 0 O

  • dang, pretty sweep

  • Wow! that's awesome!

  • if anyone is interested in joining the project, come to smwcp . proboards . com

  • HOLY ! impressive... You guys could have job for the betsheda!

  • another EPIC mod! keep up the work! hope to download this soon!

  • nice...well...no real words....awesome

  • Whoa. . . what's the music called in this video?

  • @STEALTHYFART

its from an orchestral version of dragon quest songs. i put the video together, but i have no idea what this song is called o.o

  • It will eventually have hundreds of quests :)

  • @BigCityProject how much is left to do on the project before its release? i see on your forums that you have recruited many people, and it really looks like your well on your way (according to youtube vid and pics on your site). I really cant wait for it and i hope it comes out before guild wars 2 :/ (or else i dont have time for it :p)

  • We are still a long way off finishing :(

Although a lot of the exterior has been done (probably most for the first release) we still have hundreds of interior to do and all the quest still to write.

So if anyone else out there wants to join us and help complete the Big City then do come on over to our forum.

    The Caretaker

    (aka The Wanderer)

  • @BigCityProject Forum seems kinda dead :(

  • @BigCityProject Is it just me, or some buildings look like from the IX setury?

  • @TheMourningPalace Some of the buildings (Such as 0:46 ) look as if they're from the poolished buildngs mod for Mount and Blade: Warband :\

  • Everyone please note!

That although this City is accessed via Morrowind it is most definitely not located anywhere in Morrowind.

  • it have quests?

  • Looks very nice.

  • wow
