Amazing models. Makes me wonder why you wouldn't start a new game from scratch instead of creating a place that's so out of the way of Morrowind's story and art style. Just make everybody bretons, nords and imperials since they all look human (Except maybe have orcs for that fantasy element).
Just imagining the graphical impact of this city with the Shadows mod and some nice HDR and sky mods, and perhaps some canals with the water shaders on full blast. Good as a modern game...
It could be a TC (total conversion) but what good would come of throwing out all of the gameplay rules and existing world when the two can exist side by side yet never overlapping?
I think its pretty funny (aka retarded) that people say buildings built with brick and mortar are out of place in a world where steam powered robots exist. Besides, its not a mod designed to appeal strictly to Morrowind fans but to people who like good things in general. It just happens to run on the Morrowind engine.
This doesnt look like morrowind, but it looks so amazing maybe set in highrock or what cyrodiil should have looked like. It looks so much better than any city in oblivion!
@BigCityProject Hey just an idea, alot of people will not download or use any mods that go against lore. I have an i dea though, Vvardenfell is more Ashlander than it is industrial and lived cities. But Mainland Morrowind, especially the House Hlaalu parts have huge city's as they are a merchant house. I suggest maybe incorporating the town somewhere in Narsis in the Mod Tamriel Rebuilt. Anyways just an idea, best of wishes
Wow, this city is immense for a modern Elder Scrolls game but it feels completely out if place in Morrowind. However I do see it as a far better depiction of the Imperial city than Oblivion's tiny doll house version. Seriously the empire's capital is smaller than Morrowind's? Really now
While I think this is a fascinating project it makes me wonder why Morrowind and why not Oblivion or Skyrim? But I am grateful that such an old classic game such as MW is kept alive even to this date. I'm also curious as to where in Vvardenfell this city is located or perhaps it is in the mainland of Morrowind.
@ThringtonBennet I agree to this one, it doesn't rhyme too well with the atmosphere of the Morrowind game. But I'm sure there is a way to make it more "magic" than it is now.
@CraigMerton Adding more detail to the current landscape. Work on the atmospherics and lighting. The designs are there, all that is needed is a graphics update.
Looks brilliant. I wish tesV had the same, more modern kind of feel. The traditional fantasy medievil setting has really been done to death, and this kind of archetecture and culture would bring new possibilities into the genre.
@Arfien3 yea, I can see where your coming from. Like how fabel 3 (how dare I speak that name!) went into kind of the steam punk era. BUT, I think the Elder Scroll will always be Fantasy/Medievil. It just fits so perfectly together. There's just something about an elder scrolls game that draws you into it. I've played nearly every RPG I can get my hands on and TES just has that complex, deep, simplicity about it. You aren't bombarded by stats and useless items. Just my opinion. :)
@BigCityProject how much is left to do on the project before its release? i see on your forums that you have recruited many people, and it really looks like your well on your way (according to youtube vid and pics on your site). I really cant wait for it and i hope it comes out before guild wars 2 :/ (or else i dont have time for it :p)
Although a lot of the exterior has been done (probably most for the first release) we still have hundreds of interior to do and all the quest still to write.
So if anyone else out there wants to join us and help complete the Big City then do come on over to our forum.

This city is not actually in Morrowind it is located on a chain of islands elsewhere in Tamriel.
You just get to it via Morrowind :P
There is now also an Alpha release of this mod available for anyone interested in exploring this large city.
You'll find it at over at Planet Elder Scrolls - Victorian City of Jarvik

Should have been made on oblivion since it fits the theme
though I really like it, imperial capital in the province of morrowind is awesome

Looks like something from an old Medal of Honor game I played for The Playstation a long time ago. Like a small city somewhere in Europe. Nice. :)

there shouldn't be big cities in morrowind, its supposed to be an uncivilized alien world with different houses struggling for power

Okay, okay, everything's cool, but this is frankly what'd happen to Morrowind if it stayed in the Empire for too long.
ToaYeranhu 3 months ago
As much as I appreciate the dedication. I think this would ruin the feel of Morrowind.
Morrowind felt alien, that's part of what made it amazing

I will say that it looks quite a bit more modern than morrowind though.
