When President Bush was re-elected, he received more votes then ANY President in history at that time. A double victory, overthrowing both the Taliban regime and defeating Saddam Hussein's totalitarian Baathist regime. And then, victory at the ballot box also. How many presidents can claim to leading us to triumph over two barbaric terrorist regimes? Not many. God bless President Bush.
President Bush did more for Africa, and to fight AIDS in Africa then any president or human being in American history, to the tune of billions and billions of dollars. Bono of U2 has said that thanks to America's help, thousands of Africans owe their lives to America. That was cool when Bono met with President Bush about this. I hope that people in Africa know we care about them the way President Bush did.
"Who ever remembers the son of the President anyways?"
Oh, don't worry, people will remember you, just for all the wrong reasons (lol) Glad you're finally out of the White House after 8 long years of f***ing things up Mr. "W"!!!
This film really didn't do much for me. The central theme of it was that Bush has a huge Oedipal complex-and to be honest, I do believe there was an element of that, you could see it unfold over the years of his presidency and in his life story. But they played it up to a huge extent, and I honestly refuse to believe Bush was really so naive or manipulable.
@WARP10CK Definitely agree. I believe Cheney was the real mastermind for 8 long years, but I don't completely buy the story of Cheney as this evil puppet master who dominated W. I actually like the way they portrayed it here as Cheney sucking up and bending as the way of manipulating him. I think W.'s staff did nothing but tell him what he wanted to hear.
Lol I dont care about what viewpoint this movie is in this is the movie trailer so shall we enjoy it? For all of the negative comments there are several slapstick moments in the trailers too right?

Yes! I watched an interview with Richard Dreyfuss (W.'s Cheyney) on The View and he said that Oliver Stone left out a very important character - US! He said it came off as a very sympathetic movie because public opinion and quite frankly, public horror, was glaringly omitted. The focus was on Bush and the administration only. ok, a question that was a couple of posts ago, my bad. which tyrants did it avoid? i am sure that it has avoided many factions from having unchecked power. now, we do not know names of these individual tyrants, perhaps because the system worked. but it does help negate large states, special regional interests, economic factions, etc. from having unchecked power over others, trampling the rights of minorities. you should check out the Federalist Papers, it might help you understand.

They're stupid and blindly believe every lie that the liberal media throws at them! They think socialism will be a free ride but to stupid to know it's anti-freedom, full government control. When you take unlimited amounts from the rich, bringing them down, then who's going to be footing the bill....nobody. That's when we will be prisoners to the government. Oliver Stone showed NO CLASS at all in releasing this movie while President Bush was still in office.Makes me sick to see just how low liberals (and many democrats) will go.....
hahaha your talking about respect. Well Bush did not respect the American people when americans were against the iraq war. Bush can rat in hell. I hope they charge him with war crimes.
oh my gosh! obama is continuing to launch air strikes in pakistan! we should charge him with war crimes! ha, apparently you think bush should be charged with war crimes, why not obama now?
Buah started the war in iraq Obama didn't. He wants us troops out there. Please tell me what new war has Obama started? Get over yourself the republican party is over my friend. Your party will never win unless they include blacks, Hispanics, Asian and others. America is changing 2040 whites will no longer be the majority. America needs to put an end to conservatism. Liberal Power.
ha! first off, obama said he wants to pull the trops out of iraq and put them in afghanistan, second, he decided to continue the air strikes in pakistan. third, when bush was president, he was the president that had the most minorities appointed to high positions. now who would actually listen to you? a liberal who has no idea what communism and socialism means. i am done with this conversation and i have proved my point.
Okay mean you've got all the answers. I am sure your part of the 20 percent who approves of Bush. Bush had the most minorities? please name them because im only aware of Rice, Powell and the Latin guy.
you seriously did not know that? pick up a book and read, watch the news and learn.
do you know what i found funny? somebody was complaining that we dont do enough for the people in africa and that person wanted bush out of office! i couldnt believe that the person who wanted us to help africa so much, wanted bush, the president who has helped africa the most, out of office.
well i dont know about all that pal. the great thing about america is freedom of choice. just because you black hispanic asian or any other race doesnt mean you have to be liberal. besides any body that agrees with views because its what his "party" thinks is right is an idiot. free your mind people !!! stop being what the rest of the world thinks of us as typical americans.
This film is cursed! It portrayed the life of a liar, 'decepter,' and hypocrite.Poor guy thought was the savior of America. Was he called a "devil in a white hat"? It fits "W" because he keeps sending Americans to their death in illigitimate war. Finally,"W"s lies caught up.History will not be so kind. Eerily, this movie has its curse.Firstly, lead actor and his friends were arrested by police. Secondly, the anchorwoman potraying a reporter was beaten at home and died. Maybe, next is Karl Rove who..
I saw this movie today. It was great, but not as funny as you think, it was more about Bush's life and failures more about failures. But it has its moments. They nailed the fucking maniac Dick Cheny for crazy oilman he was, and was symapthetic for Colin Powell, Condi was crazy too. But it was a good film overall and if you're interested in biographies, then go see this movie
i cant wait until everybody realizes that obama is the worst president ever if he wins the presidency. If obama is president, America will fall just like the USSR did. Socialism=Stupidity.
yeah thats why the socialist canidate for president himself said that Obama is most defintely NOT a socialist, and is in fact the opposite. as he stated on CNN
because obama said he wanted to spread the wealth, but brian moore said that obamas programs would not create a true redistribution of wealth. that is what moore claims. nevertheless, obamas plans lean far towards socialism. and sarah palin and john mccain were correct, redistribution of wealth is a sign of socialism
You know, this movie would really be funny if this wasn't really happening. I think Bush is clueless, I blame Cheney and the people surrounding him for the mess the United States is in.
I feel bad for him. I believe he did what he thought best at the given moment and taking into consideration the people who fed him information. CIA fed him info that Sadaam had weapons and Britain supported an invasion. Americans wanted to kick ass and take names. More people supported a war with Iraq than didn't support one, so Bush made the logical decision. Blame Cheney and Rummy for the Iraq disaster, not Bush. They're the men behind the curtain.
Dont be fooled by Oliver Stone. He is hired to whitewash real issues and the truth. Although he may seem critical, he actually protects people and in this case George W from the real truth about them.
For you ignorant rube die-hard Bush supporters: This movie is in fact a very valid film, as it focuses on a genuinely fascinating story that needs to be told: How does a man who is an utter mediocrity in virtually every respect important to public service - intellectually, professionally, verbally - actually become President of (what used to be) the wealthiest, most powerful nation in the world? And once in that role, how does he handle the critical decisions that need to be made?
A proposition can't be "very" valid. Can something be ingenuously fascinating? Can someone be an utter mediocrity? I agree with your general sentiments but I would be cautious about calling people rubes of mediocre intelligence if you can't distinguish yourself from them.
True beneficiaries of W's reckless fiscal/foreign policies are the 0.5% US population's wealthiest multimillionaires, Wall St chiefs, oil tycoons, owners of private military companies (i.e., Blackwater), and the vile public mouthpieces of the Bush/Cheney machine, like Bill O'Reilly/William Kristol. I doubt any of the die-hard W supporters posting here fall into those camps, which make you all pathetic lackeys to a loser retard, begging to get ass-raped by the GOP, and getting NOTHING in return.
i can't believe some of the comments on this page. This is not a fiction movie, its a fair biopic made to show us the human side of bush.Bush was an alcoholic who found his way through the white house, why can't you republicans see the truth?he wasnt a great president, he didnt even try to find Bin laden!but this will show him as a human being who had problems going through a complicated life because of his family and the way he was used as a president by rove, cheney etc.
why can't the neoconservative socialist clones on here stop worshiping king Bush and start adopting the principles of freedom and democracy on which this country was founded on. neocons, taking your sisters to the local ho down and riding pigs in the mud trench should take a back road for this election!
Countrylove, as a loyal Bush-lovin' Republican, I take offense. I love this country, which is why I'm voting for Sarah Palin, one of the finest secessionists this nation has ever produced!
bush is the crowned eternal king of all retarded, hairless, pretzel loving chimpanzees.....he probably wears a diaper under his suit and tucks his tail into his butt. please give me at least 100 negatives for this remark oh republiclones.
Irregardless of what anyone says, that man doesn't need this movie to make him look like an idiot. He's doing that just fine on his own. But as a plus, this movie looks fucking hilarious and I can't wait to see it.
you know, i saws a photo of the King Bush holding hands with the Prince of Saudi Arabia beekoz i hurd that the Boosh kingdom and the saudis was makin' them backroom oil deals all these decades. but tha's a lie! he's a man of god! he is god dressed as a man! does y'all like moonshine?
now look y'all....wee need too make Bush hour King. i don't beleev in the prezidunt...i jes beleev in the Bible and nuthin else. God will make Bush our King. all hail the king. and darn them libaruls. they wants 'orrible things such as healthcare and a prosperous economy. i think high deficits and increased spending wuz ordained by the lord himself...that wha wee needs mckkkane in power. yeee haw! excuse me...i have some cows to tip over in my barn yard.
hey, your friend obama has endorsed the continuation of air strikes in pakistan, maybe you think you he should be impeached, he killed innocent people.
i know someone who just lost a million dollars from their business in stocks. One million dollars. To everyday people thats a freaking lot of money. But to think overall billions have been lost; I hate w. The last thing i want to remember of this idiot cowboy in that fancy seat in that shit house, is someone had even more idiocy to make a movie, to glorify that letter sickens me. Nice soundtrack though.
I believe that the figure is more accurately represented by several trillion dollars.
In the end, I think Bush will be one of the best things that will ever happen to this country.
Think about it at the very least, it's far more likely that we will finally see Americans stop living off debt, and developing new sources of energy. You can't say there was much incentive for either before W's disastrous run.
If nothing else no matter who wins we will look back and say "least the worst is over"
It's not really trying to make fun of him either. The point of the movie is to show him as a human being, and then you can make your own conclusions from that.
well, specialone8, I plan on seeing this movie and will tell my friends and peers to see it, so hopefully your prediction of the film BOMBING will not fulfill itself.
JFK, NIXON, now W. who better to make a bio/doc. flick about a president! jfk is so awesome. of course its been discredited. at least someone is seeking the true, and not digesting everything they see/read in the media!!! in my opinion Oliver Stone is the greatest film director of all time!!! bar none!!!!
I pray you are not a film-student, because you have a lot to learn! It's pretty-hard to call ANYTHING Stone does a documentary, unless you consider such fiction anything more than a work of art. Not one person represented in this hit-piece of excrement was researched, or contacted for their input for accuracy prior to production. Rumor has it, this will be Stones epitaph if it loses money like his last BOMB did!
stone and other people researched this for years before the script was finally done. i'm sure a lot of dialogue will be made up by stone, just like any other based on a true story film, but this isn't going to be be anywhere near as innacurate as some of his older films like the doors.
I saw a piece of the film on the news, and I know for a fact that, at the very least, they have put a quote of W's into a different context.
Remember that whole "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, you can't get fooled again" thing? I believe that in real life W said that in a press conference. In the movie he says it at a cabinet meeting.
America is the most powerful and beautiful country in the world, we do mistakes but we can fix them.Let's show the world what the united states of america are capable of, let's not do another mistake like electing bush and lets save our country from the downfall he put us trough.Obama is the person we need to do that, not john mccain, the man voted 90 % of the time with bush and chose a separatist to be his vp. The usa needs change because it deserves it.
speaking of mistakes, I think you were trying to say "We make mistakes, but we can fix them. Let's show the world what the USA is capable of. Let's not make another mistake like electing Bush. Let's save out country from the downfall he put us through. Barack Obama is the person we need to make this change possible, not John McCain. McCain has voted with Bush 90% of the time. He also chose a separatist to be his Vice President. The US needs this change, because it deserves it." :]
Nice try seminar-caller. You gave yourself away when you proved you don't even know how to spell. As for not trusting McCain, but trusting a man like Nobama who broke his VERY FIRST campaign-pledge, lied about his past, and current supporters; I guarantee you will be begging for impeachment less than one year after he wins the White House...IF he wins the White House. Better get used to the idea of 5,6 or even 7-dollar gas really soon if he does win!
You can call him Nobama, but pretty soon it's going to be "November Obama" when he gets elected! Oh, won't Faux, errrr, Fox news be fun to watch on election night LOL
I dont care what you say. George W is an idiot. He has fucked this country over and sold us up river to make his friends rich. And if you dont believe the economy and everything else going wrong isnt his fault. Then your an idiot too. So vote for that stupid bitch Palin and her robotic sidekick McCain and see where that gets us.
Now that you'v started reading this you must REPOST THIS IN 15 MINUTES or else i will come to your house dressed up as a gay clown and mess up your DVD'S! and forks and knifes! put'em on da wrong place then i'll hit on your mom and then tell yo momma jokes. I will email your grandpa all your porn and then delete it. I will download legally blond, sex and the city the movie, sex and the city all series and the barbie movies ! oh...and rape your pet
What gets me is the fact that we blame all of America's problems on this one man, but when Barack Obama gets elected and can't fix the problems, it's not going to be Obama's fault, we're going to continue to blame it on George Bush and simply say that one man alone can't fix all the problems. Is one man alone really making all the problems?
when a ship sinks, it's the captain's fault. when a democracy fails, it's the people's fault. Americans are going to make or break this country. We're only as successful as the unity of our country allows us to be.
Ahh the far left anti-america wackos showing their true lack of class and distorting as the facts usual. I suppose the reason they hate Bush so much is because he kicked their leftist ass so consistently.
Yeah he kicked this whole countries ass pretty consistently. Too bad he can't run another term so he can fully deliver us to third word country status. That would really get those "wacko leftists" slumming.
he's a man of god! he's a man of god! the fact that he tanked the economy and ran up huge federal deficits is not his fault. you know why? cuz he loves God and thats all that matters! yeeeeee haw!
stop supporting the republican closet Neo Con communists and maybe you'll be believable. but the constitution is just a damn piece of paper right? don't you have a hog to hunt?
do you know what the communist ideals are? They resemble the current radical Democrat party more than the radical Republican party. The step beyond current American Liberalism is communism, the step beyond current American Conservativism is Fascism. Check your facts before you start making accusations.
And you are a worthless unknown, ans yet Bush is the most powerful man in the world. Imagine that...
I think the message of this movie is this: if Bush can be President, any one can, like McCain (ill-tempered), Obama (questionable associations), Palin (air-head) and Biden (insensitive jerk). Ahhh...that's what make America beautiful...
For what this corporate animal did to the U.S.,which is the American people,it's far too flattering,His group did what the nazis, japanese, civil war, civil unrest etc, couldn't do,he broke America economically, militarily, and their will.He like his old man believe in globalization, one world economic system, you know, like in Revelations,Satans one world government
Even judging from the trailer, I get the feeling that this is perhaps going to be his best role yet. If so, I hope he at least gets a Best Actor nomination.

oh my gosh! obama is continuing to launch air strikes in pakistan! we should charge him with war crimes! ha, apparently you think bush should be charged with war crimes, why not obama now?
thundersnake1 3 years ago 2
Buah started the war in iraq Obama didn't. He wants us troops out there. Please tell me what new war has Obama started? Get over yourself the republican party is over my friend. Your party will never win unless they include blacks, Hispanics, Asian and others. America is changing 2040 whites will no longer be the majority. America needs to put an end to conservatism. Liberal Power.
darlingliz26 3 years ago
ha! first off, obama said he wants to pull the trops out of iraq and put them in afghanistan, second, he decided to continue the air strikes in pakistan. third, when bush was president, he was the president that had the most minorities appointed to high positions. now who would actually listen to you? a liberal who has no idea what communism and socialism means. i am done with this conversation and i have proved my point.
thundersnake1 3 years ago 6
Okay mean you've got all the answers. I am sure your part of the 20 percent who approves of Bush. Bush had the most minorities? please name them because im only aware of Rice, Powell and the Latin guy.
darlingliz26 3 years ago
you seriously did not know that? pick up a book and read, watch the news and learn.
do you know what i found funny? somebody was complaining that we dont do enough for the people in africa and that person wanted bush out of office! i couldnt believe that the person who wanted us to help africa so much, wanted bush, the president who has helped africa the most, out of office.
people need to be educated.

But it was a good film overall and if you're interested in biographies, then go see this movie

because obama said he wanted to spread the wealth, but brian moore said that obamas programs would not create a true redistribution of wealth. that is what moore claims. nevertheless, obamas plans lean far towards socialism. and sarah palin and john mccain were correct, redistribution of wealth is a sign of socialism

6Ott7 3 years ago
For you ignorant rube die-hard Bush supporters: This movie is in fact a very valid film, as it focuses on a genuinely fascinating story that needs to be told: How does a man who is an utter mediocrity in virtually every respect important to public service - intellectually, professionally, verbally - actually become President of (what used to be) the wealthiest, most powerful nation in the world? And once in that role, how does he handle the critical decisions that need to be made?
GlobeeCat 3 years ago

JFK, NIXON, now W. who better to make a bio/doc. flick about a president! jfk is so awesome. of course its been discredited. at least someone is seeking the true, and not digesting everything they see/read in the media!!! in my opinion Oliver Stone is the greatest film director of all time!!! bar none!!!!
tya4e17 3 years ago
I pray you are not a film-student, because you have a lot to learn! It's pretty-hard to call ANYTHING Stone does a documentary, unless you consider such fiction anything more than a work of art. Not one person represented in this hit-piece of excrement was researched, or contacted for their input for accuracy prior to production. Rumor has it, this will be Stones epitaph if it loses money like his last BOMB did!
specialone8 3 years ago
stone and other people researched this for years before the script was finally done. i'm sure a lot of dialogue will be made up by stone, just like any other based on a true story film, but this isn't going to be be anywhere near as innacurate as some of his older films like the doors.
jjk696969 3 years ago
I saw a piece of the film on the news, and I know for a fact that, at the very least, they have put a quote of W's into a different context.
Remember that whole "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, you can't get fooled again" thing? I believe that in real life W said that in a press conference. In the movie he says it at a cabinet meeting.

What gets me is the fact that we blame all of America's problems on this one man, but when Barack Obama gets elected and can't fix the problems, it's not going to be Obama's fault, we're going to continue to blame it on George Bush and simply say that one man alone can't fix all the problems.
