  • I need to go to bed -.-

  • epic laugh @0:14

  • its will

  • austin powers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I would probably kill him when he laughs at me

  • Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, YEAH!

  • My plate is usually hotter than my food,

  • wow :D

  • i thought microwaves worked by heating up water inside of objects?

  • His facial expressions scare me

  • But ice is less dense than water?

  • @Matticusjk

density has nothing to do with it. it's about the bonds between the molecules.

  • @doomermeeko and you dude... it is not about the chemical bonds. no new elements are produced.

  • @Matticusjk yeah and ? hard glass is less dance than melted glass. I don';t see why you put a question mark there. That's why it works..

  • WHY ARE THEY WEARING YANKEES GEAR!!

  • @ChunkyMilkProduction WHY NOT?

  • @arttuinen because the Yankees are assholes

  • why does he sound like a weirdo when he sais "blowtorch"??

    1:11

ohhh and his glasses are a bit leaning XD

  • @unconcious5urge I added a link to a video I watched yesterday because I wanted to learn how to make glass jewellery. see below

  • I just learned something... from the Internets O_O

  • Is it possible to control this in order yo make things from the melted glass?

  • /watch?v=TqLaaVp0iGw&feature=related Microwave kiln hope this helps you

  • is it a good idea to microwave this?

  • english people are stupid?

  • @gstrail

    E

  • And then everyone got cancer. The end.

  • @onlyontuesdays99 That didn't make me feel better at allll!!!

  • @onlyontuesdays99 Microwaves do not emit ionising radiation, which comes from decaying unstable nuclei.

  • Is this a spin-off of the BBC Brainiac?

  • What an annoyingly shit voice.

  • it's will from the inbetweeners...

  • I'm just glad one of them didn't pull off a stupid, "How do fucking magnets work" nonsensical question.

  • i keep staring at this dudes crooked glasses

  • Is it a good idea to microwave this?

  • Molecule5 n Stuff ;D

  • "microwaves work, by making molecules and stuff...wiggle...like that."

  • thats crap using a blow torch, i use a glass jar and get a ball of plasma to form in the jar, then the glass melts no blow torch needed...

  • Aha, my physics demos are spreading to other vid shows! For more suggested stunts see the original version: goo.gl A5Hag

  • wiggle, is that a scientific term?

  • 1:08

LADIES AND GENTLEMAN, I PRESENT TO YOU THE GREAT BRITISH CHAV!!!

  • JOHN LOCKE AT 1:04 ?!

  • How come I learn more from Youtube than from school???

  • @Hatchwork School isn't fun and the human brain is encouraged and also enjoys learning if it is fun.

  • @Hatchwork we actually watch youtube in science class... GO MY TEACHER!!!!

  • @J0hnnyH4ck3r Youtube in class makes class 100x MORE ENJOYABLE and MORE EDUCATIONAL.

  • @Hatchwork Because YouTube science isn't restricted as much as school science, which I think is stupid

  • @Hatchwork because you are actually interested in what you are watching ;) The best ever way to learn, is to care about the subject. Thats why I never got any grade in my school back then. Most of what I have learned so far is actually from the internet. Because I want to figure out how things work. Instead listening to a person talk for 45 min. that talk about something I could not figure out, and did not care about. ;)

  • @anariaq I totally agree. I get great marks in school but it's mostly because of staying up and cramming information in my head. It's because the information presented in class is either verbally or through powerpoint which gets boring after a few classes.

  • @Hatchwork Because school just indoctrinates people full of crap. The only real reason for going is to make friends. Kinda like church.

  • @burchified not really. school teaches us the basics but in a very traditional method because of limited budgets. To learn more, people go to colleges and universities. If there was no limit on how much we could spend, we would be learning about things in nature and outside of a classroom.

  • @Hatchwork Tell me why math and science are pushed while arts are cut back more and more.

  • @Hatchwork yupp yupp yupp

  • @Hatchwork

    Labour

  • Melting glass in a microwave...and a blow torch.

  • @Hatchwork Because you don't pay attention at school.

  • @endimion17 Nice videos..

  • @Hatchwork if you live in USA, why bother asking?

  • @Hatchwork he's teaching it wrong though. it has to do with the resonance frequency of materials. microwaves work at the resonance frequency of water, thus making water "vibrate". it has nothing to do with how solid or stable something is.

  • @Hatchwork me too!

  • Yay, my microwave oven meme has hit the big time! For the history behind this demo, google on "microwave magma"

  • 'molecules and stuff' hahaha 'wiggle' i like that he uses turns i understand

  • most annoying presenter evar?

  • fuck the learning part i just want to see glass melt

  • An easier way would just be to tune the microwave to the frequency of silicon dioxide rather than water.

  • @1RadicalOne o.O ... fake and gay.

  • No.

Microwave ovens are tuned to the frequency of vibration of a water molecule. The microwaves increase the vibration, thus increasing temperature of the water and therefore of your food. You could in theory modify the magnetron to emit a different frequency, that of the molecule of silicon dioxide - the main component of glass.

  • @1RadicalOne No.

    Just no.

  • Wrong. That is already done in some industrial microwaves, usually for the purpose of melting metals in short order. It is done by altering the frequency of the magnetron, the emitter of the microwaves to be in sync with the vibrational frequency of whatever material you are seeking to heat and/or melt. Each atom has its own frequency. Ever hear of a cesium clock? Same principle, different application.

  • he has such an evil scientist laugh :D

  • fuuu can't see anything, fucked up video.

  • @deycha1 so swearing at it will fix it? :D makes sense.

  • @ciarandoughty yeah, it can fix a lot of stuff, haven't you tried :D ?

  • im gonna do that at home !!

  • whoot tha bloody fooohking 'ell?

  • Why is it that on this show theres aload of twats on it?

  • great for making holes in glass bottles to make bongs without drilling glass

  • WTF this guy looks like such a fag

  • The glasses are normal. It's the universe that's wonky...

  • i like the show but i prefer mythbusters :)

  • the woman at 00:38 is creepy

  • OMG That woman is creepy!

  • @SquishyBananaBread LOL OMFG THATS MY FRIENDS AUNTY LOL!!!

  • @11SLEW11

LOL OMFG NO SHES MY AUNTYS FRIEND ROFL!!!

  • @SquishyBananaBread That's your grandma.

  • @SquishyBananaBread she's just old you ass, One day you will be to, well maybe if no 1 kills you for talking about old people

  • Comment removed

  • guy's laughter is disturbing... at best..

  • @SquishyBananaBread true that!

  • they stole this from another youtuber

  • How? this is a BBC production

  • @DidntKnowWhatToPut1 Nope, in the int'l physics demo community everybody copies the good ones. Best to add your own improvements (like not torching the bottle itself, it may shatter.) It's only in journals that we're required to give attributions.

Try it with a hunk of obsidian. Instead of melting, it turns into volcanic ash! Well, foam-glass actually. Unlike the Hawaiian type, most lavas are full of dissolved gas, that's why most volcanoes erupt like rocket engines.

  • wow i haven't seen anything more patronising

  • hard day at work im afraid :(

  • Is this like an English Myth Busters?

  • yeah, for like 10 year olds

  • Nooooooo.

  • No because we do have a Myth Busters.

  • You could warm the piece of glass on a stove.

    I miss his giant condom

  • EH? lol, do tell

  • look for "Bin Liner Blowing" and watch it then read the comments.

  • What a load of rubbish. 2.58 i can never get back of my life

  • And you wasted a further 10 seconds by posting that comment and a further 10 seconds reading this one.

    More life wasted

    You still reading?

You're just going to sit there and let me waste your life?

    I'm going now.

    I said I'm going, bye.

Wow, I thought you cared about your life being wasted?

  • grow up

  • Lighten up?

  • Is that Rod Hull at 0:38?

  • This TV show is awful. Seriously, why do you employ these people? Dallas was irritating when he was on channel 5, the woman was annoying & hasn't a clue at all (even when she presented the gaming shows years ago) & this bloke is the most annoying, worst dressed & did i mention.. most annoying, IDIOT, I have ever seen in my life. BBC please scrap this show, it is awful

  • I know haha, his enthusiasm doesn't work well.

  • oh my he is irritating. Most people with any schooling know that microwave ovens emmit a very specific wave frequency that has a great affect on liquids. People who don't are usually those who think their mobile is cooking their brain.
