  • BST rock!!

  • How awesome is it that a great rock legend doesn't have to have 6 pack abs, a bandana , no long hair and in no way is hot....yet can rock a stage like a fucking champ...just goes to show ya what real old rock is all about!!! Music and fun,,,, = BL&T

  • "It's hotter than Auschwitz in here tonight." David Clayton Thomas, in Detroit, Circa 1998.

  • Nothing at all against BS&T or David Clayton Thomas....he took BS&T to a new and different level.....but I give due to the great Al Kooper for forming this band and for that wonderous first album....Child Is Father To The Man....

and one of the greatest tunes off of that album.....

I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know.....

If it weren't for Al....BS&T probably would have never existed....and many other bands owe their due to Al Kooper....

  • @hwyflier2 We agree, hwyflier2.

  • the only word to describe this is scrumtrelessence

  • @Baleox Thanks Shanks!

  • Was für eine Band!

  • Opened up with this last night at the Snoqualmie Casino. Very different band, sorry so Clayton but it was still BS@T

  • 15 people need to learn a lot about true good music ;)

  • One of my favorite band.

  • SANTO CIELO QUE BUENO ESTA ESTO!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I've been listening to Blood Sweat and Tears since I was 13 . I know music has changed a whole lot but creativity like this has gone by the wayside.

  • Holy Shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Why is it that groups (vocalists) of this era actually sound awesome live.

Seriously man, I've been hitting Youtube for heaps of 60s stuff recently, and basically evry group that I know (in my limited knowledge) sounds amazing live.

  • @redrawredraw 'cause back then they could actually sing and it was about the music, not about the packaging. The rockers from back then were some pretty ugly dudes - there's no way they would be given a chance nowadays with all the pretty boys and the dreaded autotune fu*@ing everything up. But that is just my humble opinion.

  • Love that axe he's playing. Nice wood body. Anyone happen to know what it is?

  • @manwhassup1 Thanks for your interest in the axe being played by the late great Larry DeBari. Dave Gellis, also of Blood Sweat & Tears fame, informs me that Larry is playing a Tom Anderson guitar in this video. The company is located in California.

  • Would like to comment that DCT let his pub company proverbially 'do one' all over some nice musicians (including some of the world's known best) when a track similar to this got a big release recently. He was a legend to me. Now he's a handpump.

  • Fucking voice, eh?

  • GO DOWN GAMBLING ! by B S & T FANTASTIC!~MORE FANTASTIC!

  • david Clayton IS David clayton now or never...he lets them go...

  • Super.....

  • seeing a heavyish man in a suite doing that blew my mind...!... 0.o

  • @leif011 No suite. Just a rocking tune by a horn band.

  • David spent decades putting together lineups of BS&T. He was and is amazing.

  • lsten to "war photographer" from jason forrest. its a great kinda remix of this

  • dave would look better without the beard, but a true classic band, love this song

  • would love to have seen chicago's horn section in the mix

  • Great nod to Hendrix at the first. (not as in Hendrix is better, we don't need better)

  • Guitar solo is nice I guess, but where's the tuba solo? That's what makes this song.

  • como suena increible que bueno poder verlos por aca gracias que gusto para tocar y que musicos

  • Yo Bill! This is kick-ass!

  • Maravilhoso! sem palavras

  • What a sound!!!

  • GREAT POST LOVE IT

  • @3:20 MORE GUITAR SOLO! FUCK YES!

  • rawarse ... nuff said ,

  • exelent, but where is the tuba solo?

  • Demostrando que la calidad no tiene edad. Excelente video para recordar! Gracias!

  • WOW!!!!!!!!

  • MASTERFUL & i LOVE IT - and thanks for posting

  • These guys go all the way back, and they'll always be all the way up on their stuff! Excellent!

  • like the hendrix in the beginning

  • Fantastic...

  • I saw DCT 3 yrs ago and he was fantastic, especially on You've made me so very happy. Memories.

  • Que espectáculo!!! Tremendo!!! Sonidos, gestos, humor...UFF!!!

  • ¡Estamos muy contentos que usted notó todo esto! ¡Muchas gracias!

  • Another slow streaming video on Youtube. I know this is not the up-loaders fault. Its Google cutting cost by moving server farms to China or India This is getting painful

  • I loved this song and this is a nice clip but I liked the original recording on which David Clayton Thomas himself played a great guitar bit, not as showboaty as this one. And this horn ensemble is nice but I`ll take Dave Bargerone and his mates back in the day. Very underappreciated band.

  • @pilesovinyl

    +1 Man!

Why can't you find a "Classics" station that will play BST??!!

Back in the day I was an amateur boxer and would do my heavy bag work with this songe blasting off the 8-track! Takes me back and recharges the heart!

  • I recognized the Van Halen licks, but David Lee Roth never had pipes like that! Hold off on the hate mail, I was just funnin whichya...

  • I saw then in 1968, and they played this was their last gig, very special band.

  • 1968?

  • yeah, this song came out on BS&T 4 (71)... 68??

  • @MusicDude86

    '69 or '70 I think.

  • Comment removed

  • This totally KICKS!

  • I went,But you may never have to go,know

  • What's the name of the tune that he plays after 31seconds?

  • Whatever it is Jaco used to play it in his live solos!

  • Jimi Hendrix - Third Stone From the Sun

  • You can hear the melody, taken from hendrix's song, on i'm too sexy by right said fred...

  • Steve who? Bobby who? Most people only know the lead singer anyway. Jazz purists eat your hearts out!

  • i never knew that that dude could shred like a beast

    that was absolutely amazing

  • where can i buy the dvd i cant find it sorry?

  • This concert has never been ( and, in all likelihood never will be ) made available on DVD or video tape. Thank you for your interest.

  • what a pity... thanks a lot

  • @Drumcam Absolutely fantastic! Thank you very much...is Thomas still alive? What incredible vocals...

  • Larry DeBari reminds me of Joe Satriani when he plays his guitar!!!!!!! Awesome!

  • I thought Larry DeBari was alive! When did he die?

  • The one-and-only, often imitated but never duplicated: Larry DeBari succumbed to lung cancer after a valiant fight, in 1999. He is greatly missed by all who knew him. Thanks for asking.

  • esto es lo mas cañero de blood sweet and tears?

  • Madre mia!!! Del 10!

  • Clayton always ran a tight ship in his band, and you can be sure by the back-and-forth on stage with (the late) Larry DeBari on guitar, that he was enjoying it. DCT live at his best, and the smokin guitar intro sets up the rest of the song perfectly......

  • best BST song. I could have done without the guitar solo, too. Also, DCT played guitar on the original. He should have brandished the axe here!

  • I half agree. DCT's raw original was a real treat, slightly out of tune in parts, but gutsy. But you could argue Larry's (excellent) solo was more in keeping with the slicker BS&T on display here.

  • I uesd to take my friends to see these guys every time they came to town because it was a guarantee that they would blow my friends away! Absolutely great band an I'm sad they will never be the same. One show was at the California State Fair and they mentioned that they had just played in Poland at a Jazz Festival 48 hours prior to the Fair gig... and as if that weren't enough were headed to Germany for another gig in 48 hours. Amazing that they didn't cancel the State Fair gig considering.

  • Larry, the ONE De Bari ! LARRY & DC-T really ROCK !!!

Forever Larry in our musical souls !

  • This absolutely ROCKS. These guys were always great, and this is the cat's meow. I posted the link to this on the Maynard Ferguson website and a lot of the MF fans raved about this.

Dave-can you share what happened to Larry D? Very sorry to hear this talent is no longer with us. And what was his musical background?

  • Larry Debari was amazing. I knew him well and man could he play. And few knew how great his voice was. R.I.P. brother.

    LEGEND INDEED

  • holy shit that guitar solo at the start was UNBELIEVABLE and HAS to be underrated!!

  • @GetchaPull92 Now i know where petrucci gets his inspiration.

  • Great musicianship and great vocals and arraingement

  • Lotta bad talking here . . You all go on stage and show us something better? . . . nice guitar . . . music is fun and BSY&T are having FUN on this one. . .

  • Damn, kick ass guitar solo in the beginning! Great rendition of this song!

  • I probably think what everyone else is thinking, that he plays a mean guitar, and in the song it's fine, but the first two minutes just ain't necessary.

  • You obviously don't appreciate great guitar playing! The guitar solo at the beginning sets up the intro perfectly.

  • He's a good guitarist in a scooped-out-middle sort of way, but his trousers are enormous!

  • it's funny.. i only saw all the pictures of them on their albums.. now.. i see 'em and their old and i'm like wow.. it's also kinda funny to see all these old guys having so much fun.. haha

  • ask your Dad about BST and wish your Mom a great Mother's Day ..anyone remember the late 60s?

  • Total musical masturbation. Funily enough the guitar playing on BS&T recorded work was the weakest part, however I would have the original over this twat w*nking off on the guitar anytime. There is no place for it in this amazing song. What an arse. I seriously would refuse to play like that over such a great song. Listen to "and when I die" and hear how proper musicians play,

  • its entertainment bruh. while I agree with you on the wankin-that room looked mighty full even if they looked bored-lol.

SO wankers wank on-it gives people something to laff at while quietly and seethinly acknowledging your skills.

  • hey, it's a live show, dude. Let 'em wank all they want. when I'm close to 60 I'll wish I could do the same thing. BTW. he's a damn good guitarist!

"I seriously would refuse to play like that over such a great song. Listen to "and when I die" and hear how proper musicians play, .."

HA! What a critic you are.

  • Ha, are you serious? I always thought the arrangement of AWID was part of BS&T's humour much like Spinning Wheel. Colomby himself said that he couldn't believe people didn't get the jokes. This is a live gig man and one of their rockier tunes, perfect to showcase DeBari and rework the arrangement for this lineup. Note that BS&T humour's here through this too, have some fun man

  • Amazing guitar playing! WOW!!!

I love this band. Takes me back...

  • why is every B,S & T guitarist ridiculously good?

  • oh,hell yes.I played this in marching band ...yeah.

  • never too late to listen to and appreciate great music one of many great bands to come out of the 60 s and 70 s thanks for the music

  • Neat to hear this newer version. So fun! Thanks for posting : )

  • If Jesus came back and played a solo that would blow every guitar player in history off the stage by playing 2 guitars at once and 2 different solos at the same time and posted it on you tube, some moron would say they could do better.

  • agreed! concerning the negetive music critics.

  • Hazafi4life=idiot

  • it would seem to me Hazafi4life's comment was a negative one mainly due to the neg.-3 rateing of this performance. Just the same the original comment was unjustified. Yet everyone is entitled to constructive criticism, however hazafi4life's comment remains mean spirited just the same.

  • Is this BS&T with DCT or the Larry DeBari Show starring "look at ME" Larry ?? He even disrespects DCT by walking right in front of him playing this overblown solo. Please.....

  • All these years later...they are still the best. Rockin like they always did. I was a fan in my 20's and am still a fan in my 50's. David Clayton Thomas can still belt it out.

  • I strongly agree with larmarlove. Mr. Debari's total musical contribution during his brief life does not justify a mean spirited comment like that.

  • Larry is so bad he looks like he could go sell cars right after the concert and no one would have a clue how bad a guitar player he is!

  • Only a wannabe musician would make such an unkind comment about the late Larry DeBari. He was an amazing guitar player and overall an extremely talented musician. He has been greatly missed!

  • Hazafi4life, perhaps by "bad" you meant good? If so, please accept my apologies. I had a strong reaction to your comment because I thought you were insulting Larry, who was such a great and talented guy.

  • everybody lives and dies, but the original incarnation was the best.are u gonna buy a "better than van gogh" or the van gogh?

  • Larry Debari was smokin' this whole concert, and was the basis of this version of BST, bringing a blistering lead guitar to the forefront really remade these arrangements and, IMHO, was a great compliment to DCT, really made him give his all in these live performances--this is a sadly underrated BST line-up, some argue it was the best.

  • Seeing Larry & Neil together brings back lots of good memories. Larry DeBari a phenomena in the history of music. Your always in our hearts and will never be forgotten. We miss you Larry!

  • I love Larry (The guitar player) Thank you so much for posting this video. My family and I were very close with Larry. He died almost ten years ago and it was so great watching this video of him playing and making those faces again. I miss him. He was unbelievable. Thank you again for posting this.

  • This guitar player is smoking hot!! This whole BST concert is over the top. BST Never had this kind of strong soloing in the old band. Drums and bass are TITE as are the horns! Are these old Videos all we have left to appreciate these sensational musicians? David C Thomas has only season like fine wine here! SOUND IS VERY GOOD FOR OLDER LIVE CONCERT.

  • Super, super!!! Настоящая живая музыка.

Все до единого супер-музыканты,а D.K Tomas

    трижды супер!!!

  • Wow! I love the original, but its nice to see the guitarist cut loose, similar to the version we play in my band. thanks for posting this

  • That is a really big almost (see giftoftgod2007 comment) To be honest, I think you have to be a good enough musician to play or attempt to play ANY BS&T arrangements. That being said, there just won't be any replacements for the original BS&T.. Bobby, Freddy, Lew, Dave and the rest just plain broke the mold.

  • fuckin' solos

  • Who said they fucked the song up ? I think it's great ! Almost better that the original!

  • inseen trickypat do it too ,both great,pt was playin a telecaster

  • Thanx for sharing!

  • seen pat travers band do this a while ago ,

    make these here guys cry

  • the original recordings of all BST songs are what we grw up to, us old folks anyway. the musicianship form the original recordings outshines these dudes big time. the drummer or drummers from the original group were what influnced me to become a drummer. where are they now?

  • Mr debari will be missed by the music community. His musical sense of humour and ability to play in any musical genre made him a very special human being

  • I really enjoyed this

  • BEAST!!!

  • typical guitarist

  • for certain, he sure ain't Duane Allman.

  • As is typical of "new" versions of a classic band, they completely fuck up an originally fantastic song. David Clayton Thomas or not they sound like a lounge act attempting to sound cool with wanker guitar solos and overly slick arrangements.

  • in my opinion, DCT could be sing the telephonbook from a to z, i would love it!

  • what! not blood sweat and tears more like david clayton thomas solo outfit, no original guys here except clayton and jerry hate it when bands live off a name not BST

  • What about DCT singing his ass off!!!!!

  • That was always the problem. Too much DCT singing. Became too big for his britches and caused dissent and the demise of BS&T as was originally known. After BS&T 4, can you say "downward spiral?". Why even call it BS&T anymore? Just call it DCT.

  • You're probably right ayp0713. Back in the early seventies, I personly knew 3 of the band members and they told me that DCT was really arrogant. So much so, if you look up the word arrogant, you would see his face!

  • Yes, that is the general concensus. I was influenced to play the sax and have my own band, by Fred whom my father grew up with in Parkchester Bronx. BST actually jammed in our Bronx apartment several times in approx. 1967. All that said, I do think DCT is a very talented vocalist/performer but he was the undoing of the original BST.

  • to the hell with this guy's light 'heavy" riffs. To the point, that is it. Theres no such a thing like too much Thomas, listen to the records and you'll see , beautiful Blood Sweat and Tears .

  • Why let the bald guy steal the show...? Was waiting for David....thank you

  • The bald guy is Michael Anthony from Van Halen (Without toupe)

  • gotta love a good double A. :)

  • Kick Ass Drummer Neil Capolongo

  • This guitarist sounds like Terry Kath in free form guitar

  • fan-tas-tic
