What would make this video just perfect, is after the piece has finished playing - the word and voice declaring 'FLAWLESS PERFORMANCE' came up on the screen like DDR.
@BornThisWayANTHONY lot's and lot's of practice. it's basically a lot of scales and broken chords up and down, with a good technique you will get it, practicing this piece right now. i don't know how the composer played it, but Alkan was probably a really really virtous piano player beacause allmost all of his pieces are really hard and technically demanding. According to wikipedia Liszt once said that "Alkan had the finest technique of anyone he knew".
@BornThisWayANTHONY I've never heard any recording of someone playing it cleany.
Tempo is Vivacissimamente, 112 half notes per minutes. Your left thumb gets sore within seconds due to the repeated concords, which basically vanish and cannot be cleanly heard anymore.
I believe Charles-Valentin told himself : some god will be able to play this one day :)
Jacky Chan is the god of Chuck norris his powers.

@fye4 you got to play 1 2 1 2 on the left hand else it's probably impossible, and you're thumb is gonna get tierd in no time.

@Piggywarz i think it's actually the main theme just a minor second higher. But yes it both looks hard a is hard to play ( the whole piece)

I've watched and listened to this song over and over. I play the piano, and I still can't picture myself ever playing this. ^^;;
