  • haha i love how the king just takes a stroll to the other side of the board lol

  • Really learning a lot from your videos. Thank you for posting.

  • My gosh, the thinking between a high level chess player and myself (being quite new, like played less than 15 games) is astounding. I am thinking about where I can move my pieces, hardly concerned about my opponent and his possibilities and have to spend like 2 minutes just thinking about seemingly basic interactions between pieces. You develop strategy from the seemingly simplest of things and have basically internalized all the interactions and movements of pieces... simply amazing :)

  • Good job, once you exchanged the queens I thought you were going to lose because all your pawns were alone and doubled, but again, good job!

  • and he gave you the Very Nice :)

  • Just stumbled across this channel yesterday, already went through all the Live Blitz Commentary videos. Excellent job and thanks, Jerry!

  • on move 22 wouldn't white be better had he played 22.g4!?

  • please try to do a catalan opening if you are white. i want to see how it plays out.

  • what a nice game

  • Jerry, can I ask what your rating on the 5 min autopairing on the ICC is?

  • Hey, we really would like a chess match like Jerry x Kevin (from the chesswebsite) PLEASE =D

  • That king went on quite a journey lol =P

  • I've had similar opening pawn structure as black and never considered the white Bishops exchange. Will try to focus more on centre control. And endgame.

  • Can you play Kingscrusher?

  • i'm roughly a 2000 player but your commentary has shown me how far i am from master strength. Your explanation of ideas is amazing as always thanks for the vid!

  • @generalrigald Glad to help. :)

  • I wish my school had a chess club x.x

I just don't have the time to become a founding member, but would love to join one

  • Always doing better in the endgame!I guess your favourite playing style is that of Capablanca

  • That B7 bishop exerted steady, if subtle, pressure on that diagonal throughout the game, like a glancing dagger through White's position. A wonderful demonstration of fianchetto efficacy.

  • Is the Bird's opening where you just say screw this, flip your opponent the bird and walk away?

  • Acerook didn't like the video, I guess.

  • I love watching you play and comment your own games

  • Strange opening but quick win nevertheless. Thx for uploading. More always welcome :)

  • @ChessNetwork Jerry, in large part due to you and your videos, I just became the Vice President of my University's chess club. Thanks for all your help!

  • @NumbFlynn Great! How many club members?

  • @ChessNetwork It's relatively small; I think we have about 25 or so.

  • @ChessNetwork We're sorta small. I think we have roughly 25 members.

  • @NumbFlynn Which university? Don't feel compelled to share. Thanks for the feedback. :)

  • @ChessNetwork Florida State University. I know a few of us are subbed to you, and I posted a link to your channel in our group Facebook page recently on a list of chess-related resources, along with Kingscrusher. As I said before, you've been an immense help in improving my game.

  • @NumbFlynn

I'm a faculty adviser trying to start a chess club, I would be ecstatic if we had as many as 25 members

  • @bibcath You can organize beer-blitz tournaments to promote the game. Free for all 5-minute blitz, with no score system at all. There's just one rule: the loser buys the winner a beer(or another drink). :p

Then you can organize a club tournament on a different day for those who are interested to play more seriously. One game every week (2h+30min). 10 members is enough to get a real chess club started.

  • @noxure

Great idea, but it's a dry campus so no beer, we'll have to substitute something else

  • @bibcath who needs booz when you got smokey smokey on the go !

  • jerry you're a beast keep the games coming

  • hope to see more gg

  • Great video. Laid-back-sounding but very insightful commentary.

  • That was amazing!

  • a great performance again, compared to your first videos my untrained eye spots major improvement in your game, either that or I'm getting better at understanding what's so good

  • interesting that Bf5 move...I woulda been overly paranoid about the open g file lol

  • Nice Jerry. Moving his Queen round the board, I thought he had you!

  • Nice! I was able to follow.

  • I wish you would post more live commentary 5 minute games. All the videos are appreciated of course, but the 5m blitz games are great.

  • good game jerry, you're a brilliant player, i still watch a lot of your stuff !

  • Please more videos like this Jerry! :D:D:D

  • I checkmated my teacher, thanks jerry :)

  • @Comosiem Good! Go find someone even better and beat them now. :)

  • I watched this vid 3 times :D THANKS JERRY!!

Luv how u calculate 4 moves ahead and say "Yeah this will be GAME OVER NOW!!"...

...and nearly everyone else is like "uhhh? why? WTF is going on?"

  • Post one of your losses, Gerry... :)

  • @renumeratedfrog don't think he has any

  • @renumeratedfrog He's posted a couple in some earlier videos.

  • It is really great to be in the mind of a master while thinking :)

I managed to learn 10x more things in the last month while watching you than in my last 10 years of just playing the game. My real opponent is my dad who killed me when I was in high-school. Only two draws in more than 100 matches. After 1 month of ChessNetwork and 10 years of waiting I played 2 matches against him. First he won easily but in the second one he was closer than ever to losing. I am waiting for that day... soon :)

  • @MrJulio It's going to happen... :)

  • @ChessNetwork i really hope u make more of these blitz games. I have learned a lot these past few months from ur vids, and im considering entering my university's chess club... it would mean a lot if i could keep learning from ur vids... TY keep 'em coming

  • @pyrodudewasa You should enter your university's club. It'd make for good over the board experience. :)

  • @ChessNetwork Some of my friends and myself are starting our university's chess club.

  • @MrSuednym Good idea to do so! :)

  • @MrJulio Do you know what happens when you beat your father? It will be one of the last times you'll ever played against him. :p

  • @noxure Haha yeah, I haven't played my dad since the last time I beat him.

  • @noxure The pleasure of defeating him will be to high to give up after one or two wins ;)... I still need to lower the 100+ difference of wins ;)

  • @MrJulio just let him teach you then

  • h4! was probably your best move in the game...well played.

  • MOAR

  • amazing

  • you're the man Jerry. I learn so much from these and have improved my game a ton. Thanks a bunch.

  • @JLew805 Welcome. :)

  • Nice vid, glad to have subscribed:)

  • Thanks for the video. As always well done.
