  • I feel that he was robbed of an oscar. He acted his ass off. Period

  • I absolutely love this movie I grew up around johnny cash and hank jr. And I am glad I did! And I am sorry but joaquin phoenix is hot in this movie.. Just something about a "man in black" (:

  • Fuck off Warden:-D

  • love this song great movie.........

  • Was this an alternate take? I don't remember the entire bitch verse being in the movie.

  • @tybear1990 The song was just shortened in the movie. Fun fact: Did you know Joaquin Phoenix is 5ft8 and Johnny Cash was 6ft2 ? If you would line them up next to each other it would look pretty funny! :P

  • Joaquin is one of the brilliant actors of our time.

  • The Best!

  • agree completely he so deserved the OSCAR

  • He nailed Cash didn't he? Action, attitude an looks. Great movie.

  • How he did not win an Oscar for this Is beyond?!

  • 31 people took a shot of cocaine, and wont let it be

  • Not bad..Not bad at all :)

  • GO JP

  • serious man

  • I honestly think you might medically disabled.

  • Joaquin should get his butt back in movies.

  • Phoenix did a damn good protrayal, but no one beats Johnny. sorry to say, with the Man in Black, the original is the only way to go.

  • I dont like saying it but Joaquin can sing Johny's songs almost better than Johnny Cash himself..

  • @RAWRifyU Mickey Dolenz of The Monkees once said "Comparing The Monkees to the Beatles is like comparing William Shatner to Neil Armstrong." Joaquin is an actor, impersonating a legend who personified a over generation of American culture. Bill Shatner v. Neil Armstrong, if you will...

  • 30 bitches got SHOT down

  • I really loved Phoenix performance, IMHO really captured Mr. Cash´s mannerisms. A good movie.

  • @TheSRalston I know, Phoenix didn't quite get enough Appreciation. He played the role of Mr. Cash perfect. I was always a fan of Cash's music. And i'll admit Phoenix did a dam good job

  • The way this county is going almost makes you want to be an outlaw, People running things are the real criminals!

  • plus j entends et plus je regarde ce clip plus je l aime c est dingue. quel acteur et quel chanteur! il rend un hommage merveilleux à johnny cash vive joaquim phoenix

  • I've been for watching this movie for years... gonna buy the dvd right away :)

  • wow, this dude sing alot like cash, even the director said that was spooky to hear him and seen him, like if was the real cash, really good singer too!! good job mr phoenix!!

  • Damn, what an actor! He should've have more appreciation for this role cause he's truly amazing

  • is it just me, or does joaquin phoenix sound like tom hanks when he sings?

  • @theinternetoutlaw whaaat?

  • Damn, they had bitches back then too?

  • @jaggada Johnny would be proud!!

  • i wonder what johnny whould say about this video....

  • There is no doubt, Johnny Cash was one of the greatest country singers/performers. However, Joaquin Pheonix in "Walk The Line", jumped it up a bit that makes it more attractive.

  • When i was arrested i was dress in black

  • This is a way better version than the great Johnny Cash ever did. Sorry Johnny. You were great but I don't even listen to you anymore. Joaquin sings your songs the way they were meant to be sung. RIP

  • @the8thgreatchris So untrue. Johnny sung them the way they were meant to be sung.

  • @the8thgreatchris cmon man. how can you be great then suddenly not great? remember JC made the music and if he had not done, there would be nothing to have an opinion on

  • @the8thgreatchris I feel like if Cash wrote the song then the way he sang it was probably the way it was meant to be sung lol. Phoenix does a very good job though no question

  • wooooow this lyrics is like dark metal.

  • This person is in his own personal jail in FL. Let's go dude get back into the business.

  • They need a Animation video of this

  • 28 ppl have bad taste and dont know shit for music!

  • Yes,it was more than unfair that Joaquin didn´t win the Oscar. But his performance will still be remembered when other actors and movies will be forgotten for a long time - even if they got the Acadamy Award.

  • "Have you ever drank this water, warden?"

    "Oh, no... I'm a Coca-Cola man!"

    lol

  • i was in prison once for 9 hours. Thats enough for me. It was scary

  • While I dont condone violence at all towards women I do love this song

  • J.P. BECAME JOHNNY CASH. THIS WAS AN OSCAR WINNING PERFORMANCE, HANDS DOWN

  • reece wetherspoon would get it

  • this is the only movie i watched in theatres more than once love it

  • This song should have no end

  • i think he's the best imitator but not even close to the original ;)

  • can't believe he didn't get an oscar

  • it's Johnny Cash song........

  • Phoenix scares me to hell, but i love him ^^ and his acting... he´s phenomenal

  • he played johnny so well :)

  • he was born for this johnny would be proud

  • Damn, Joaquin is a fucking good actor!

  • For some reason when I first saw this I thought that man shouting was Glen Shirley and I thought they would show the connection between the two men and how the song Greystone Chapel came to be.

  • Lay Off That Whiskey And Let That Cocaine Be! :'']

  • i absolutely adore cash. i was so proud of mr.phoenix!

  • he is great as johnny cash.

    love it ~

  • bad ass acting Joaquin!

  • He didn't get enough credit and appreciation for the wonderful and realistic part he played in this movie. Better than words can say.

  • @apenny4urthots i got a few guitar lessons when i was 18 by the guy that taught Joaquin for this movie. him and Reese said that it was creepy how well he did in his role for the movie.

  • Sir you are a fucken idiot

  • ECHT GEWELDIG!!!!

  • @oellepetoet inderdaad johnny cash is zot goe ea

  • jjiiiiippiiihhh ay jeeeehh

  • And to think I did a presentation analyzing "Walk the Line"... :)

  • Joaquin Phoenix is definately addictive!!

  • @adrianmrmonk YES!!! That was so funny!! :)

  • i honestly like the way Joaquin Phoenix sings alot of Johnny Cash's songs more than Johnny Cash himself

  • @GulfCoastFlames28 I like the ones he does with Reece better and all the others just as equal as Johnny! He was the perfect person for this movie!! (and so was Reece!) I actually have one C.D. with Johnny Cash singing and have another one with Joaquin! :) :) P.S.. Joaquin is SO CUTE!... Yummy!

  • @GulfCoastFlames28 You think Joaquin Phoenix could make it touring playing and singing in a sort of Johnny Cash tribute band?

  • @Turbomix88 With the way the music industry is today he probably wouldnt get that far in the business

  • @GulfCoastFlames28 your right.........wow why didn't he win an award......why

  • @GulfCoastFlames28 spot on

  • @GulfCoastFlames28 nah i think cash was far better in my opinion

  • @MassiveBalloonKnot Agreed!

  • @GulfCoastFlames28 Go die somewhewre!

  • @Pelle2k I agree with the comment...no need to say that!

  • @Pelle2k How about you find a dictionary look up the word "Somewhere" and then shove that nice big book up your ass, you illiterate bitch

  • @GulfCoastFlames28 whatttttttttt men youre crazyyyy

  • @ivanpumitanomemories Well my comment has 91 likes so there are a few crazy people. Second "what" has one T, you used the word "men" instead of "man"' you spelled "you're" wrong, and finally "crazy" has one y. Both "crazy" and "what" could be said the way you wrote them but in "what" the A would have been repetitive not the T.

  • @GulfCoastFlames28 mmmmmmm ok but you´re crazy

    PROBLEM?

    jejejejejejejeje

  • soooooooooooooooo cute

  • goosebumps

  • johnny cash wasn't a country singer, he was a johnny cash singer.

  • @slowhand496 johnny is king of country and Elvis is king of rock

  • wow he has no voice

  • one of the greatest movies EVER made!

  • mkat blues more like lol

  • Juarez Mexico...... Call of Juarez :)

  • @SFRslap02 hes rapped before

  • He is way better than jamie as ray because he learnt to play guitar and sang unlike mr foxx

  • i shot the BAD BITCH DOWN°!!!!!!

  • this looks like from some kind of movie, isnt it?

  • @NoobsAroundRS its from Walk the line, you should watch it, great movie C:

  • Just before I listened to Joaquin singing this I listened to Johnny Cash and I gotta say her really nailed it all the way. BTW the end of this version is a little racier than what was realeased in the theatre because it's got the last two verses. Totally awesome!

  • @halnwheels I totally agree!!

  • @LOPESDSP I dont understand Italian... (Spanish yes...) but I understood that you liked that movie so much. It was really excellent... touching... great. I am glad, that there are more people that apreaciate it just the way I did.

But the most important that it is a REAL LIFE STORY . no exageration... Sin ninguna exegeracion -. una historia de vida verdaderamente real.

  • absolut ein geiles Video und ein geiler song!!!

  • amazing actor, one of my fave films! and a great voice

  • OMg His facial expressions and the way he moves is just like Cash..I like the crazy eyes he does , am I the only one that thinks it's cool that he looks all sweaty? I can't believe his daughter didn't like this film! XD

  • @Poet2916 i think his daughter day like the way her mother vivian was portrayed in the movie...thats all

  • @ :32 Look at those eyes! <3

  • CASH AND PHOENIX!!!!!!

  • Joaquin is a really amazing actor, but he has ceased to be a movie star, and now thinks he's some hipster rap star. I honestly think he sings a little better than Johnny Cash himself in this movie.

  • @MultipleColoredChloe wasn't that just method acting for his movie, "I'm Still Here" ?

  • Comment removed

  • @shinydiamondpictures i beg 2 differ on the no.2 singer of all time who is Jim Morrison

  • joaquin looks EXACTLY like my dad!! NOBODY could do as good as joaquin phoenix!!!!! he is the best!! no.1! the only person that could do johnny better than joaquin is johnny himself!! johnny cash is the number one singer ever! (no.2 is adele)

  • I had no idea he could sing.

  • why the fuck are the in mates clapping

  • @D4sxysrb Because they are waiting for Johnny to enter the stage of course, what else?

  • BOOM ;)

  • fantastic performance absolute quality :)

  • Joaquin Phoenix Was terrific in this Movie!! He should've won a damn Oscar!! I can't say enough good things about him!! Brilliant!! Fuckin' Brilliant!!

  • Not even a huge Pheonix fan...but he was absolutely PERFECT for this role. He embodied everything that made Cash such a legend: the attitude, the darkness, the rebelliousness, everything. He should have won an oscar for this movie...hell, for this scene alone.

  • Joanquin is a hottie and should have won an award. Cash would be proud!

  • @vwdubgirl Joanquin

  • :32 :D

  • I've been told I kinda look like him.....See my video response, Matt Radford Dark Angel Cover

    Subscribe to my channel!

  • The world is a piece of shit, since he didnt win an oscar for this. His performance easily surpasses any performance I've seen come out in decades.

  • @RastafariPoet You are so right! Now a day, could you even call some of the "actors".... actors? No offense of course. Just an opinion.

  • @RastafariPoet Yup this should have been his 2nd Oscar cuz he should have got one for GLADIATOR!!:):)

  • @SkorpionOne AGREED!

  • @RastafariPoet the only one you can possibley compare it to and maybe say its better is jamie foxx as ray charles...thats it tho...i completely agree with you tho

  • @RastafariPoet Totaly agree! this man did a wonderfull job on both movies! and on this one he out did hilmself! brilliant the act, the singing everything! bring him his Oscares!!

  • @RastafariPoet well you haven't seen allot of movies then :P.

But yes, he should have gotten an oscar for this

  • Oscar

  • Johnny Cash.... there is no subsitute

  • Sorry, I wasn't paying attention not the last line but close to it on "I can't forget the day I shot that bad bitch down"

  • No disrespect to Joaquin, I mean I love Walk the Line, it's one of my favs. But.. am I the only one that noticed how his voice was a bit higher during this song and at the very end on the closing line it got extremely high and weird sounding?

  • @tiglion37, That part isn't in the movie I don't believed. It was edited out I'm pretty sure.

  • @coltcub64 No, it was not in the final released version of the movie.

  • @tiglion37 Yeah, just like Cash's voice was during this performance, because he was high.

  • Police wanted to take me to jail yesterday, just because i was drinking in the park jajaja, come on police everybody knows that monday is a good day to drink and come on it was just 2 liters of teqila its not so much jajaja its not the end of the world jaja I fucking love police but fuck your self not us

  • OSCAR!!!!

  • This song from the movie is almost as good as the real song

  • just look at his eyes after his sings snotting cocaine haha its awesome

  • Joaquin didn't do to badly here... good job, Johnny would be honored.

  • I think this is by far the best role Joaquin has ever had. He really got into it, especially in this song! :)

  • This movie was great but the years with Saul Holiff are missing, 60 to 73. new docudrama I found on facebook called "My Father and the Man in Black" it should help all of us who remember those years so well. Saul Holiff was a big part of Johnny's life, and no one has ever talked about those years, so Holiffs son made this movie to feel closer to his dad. have a look on facebook site "MY Father and the Man in Black". should be interesting to see Jonathon Holiffs view of those missing years.
