  • hahahaha, "pump it" dude have you ever heard of something called injectors? haha unless it has a carb pumping it without the engine running wont do shit.

  • I have a 97 F250 7.3L 208000km on it and i've never had a problem starting it even on -30 celcius mornings when i forgot to plug it in.

  • @ledzeppelinbabe123 and i've never had to pump the pedal.

  • This car suck 10 times to start :o

  • This engine seems to have the revised starter gear in it. My brother's truck sounds identical, and has the new gear. Mine has not been switched over yet. Gotta do that.

  • 210000 miles and its having problems? thats what you get with a ford, my dodge has over 360000 and it has no problems starting cold

  • @AdrianFike ur cummins would have the same problem if the relay went bad too... $22 fix

  • @ps3dethman1 nope my cummins doesnt have glo-plugs and the grid heater isnt hooked up... starts the first time every time even when it gets down near the -10 degree F... 7.3 diesels just dont like the cold

  • @LawnboyTim Thats what I mean by pumping, dont know what else to call it lol

  • @DuckAndDodge05 Its all good buddy!

  • shooot, 210,000? shes not even broke in yet haha

  • @zombiekiller290 Pumping DOES help. Its also ford recomended. So before you get on a video with the little knowledge you have an little experience you have with the year you've been driving, make sure you know what you're talking about.

  • @DuckAndDodge05 Pumping is for carbureted gas motors, diesels you just hold the peddle to the floor and crank er up!

  • i love hard cold starts and peddle pumping action

  • retards im 16 and hae an old 6.9 diesel and ik better than to frikn do that...pumping doest help and nither does reving it after sitting in the cold......retarded ass retards

  • u shuld start that red car

  • injector pump runs off the crank so there is no fuel being put in the cylinder when you pump the petal and not cranking it over

  • @crimson22s sorry 94-03 7.3L do not have injector pumps they have hydraulic electronically controlled injectors but anyways pumping the pedal will not work

  • with all the heating cycle all your gonna do is drain the battery

  • what do you honestly think pumping that peddle did?????

  • dont rev a diesel when its cold and pumping does not work on a diesel

  • queers...

  • wow i remember my first beer

  • @hondak400ex me too. I was awesome.

  • 2:27 Dog: "Idiots!!"

  • This guy is fucking idiotic

  • but its a diesel.....200000 miles is easy

  • @MrMartinguitars 500,000 on a Cummins is nothing.

  • @DevinciDHBiker Cummins isn't produced by Dodge you fucking moronic no brained bastard. nice try hating on Ford, But that was such a fucking fail it wasn't funny

  • Like they said, cycling the key does nothing.

  • idiots....

  • i usually just plug mine in. lol

  • Wow you guys are stupid.

  • YOU NEVER AND I MEAN NEVER REV A COLD DIESEL. ARE YOU TRYING TO FUCK UP YOUR ENGINE????

  • love the video... love the cranking :)

  • no i dont think any one likes pumpin a diesel and you both dont know how to start a diesel

  • Your both dumbasses

  • NEEDS A NEW DRIVER !

  • you guys are stupid i mean honestly pumping it? it wont do shit its not carbuated dumbass and cyclin fthe key dont work... and u deffinatly dont rev a cold diesel

  • Come on u are giving the powerstoke a bed name learn how to start a diesel before u make a video im 14 and go out and start one everymorning at 15 below 0 and it starts right up. stop cycling the glow plugs do it once or twice u are killing the batteries

  • @derekyellow2005 uh...the lb7 and early lly dmax have an almost identical glow plug system as the 7.3, the only main difference between the them is the 7.3 has seperate glow plug wires where as the federal emissions dmax has a bus bar. They duramax has better fuel control, thus the easier cold start. But, like any vehicle, its only as good as its operator. My 7.3 with 317k miles starts every morning, 90 degrees or 9 degrees...

  • this is why its making me not want a 7.3!!

  • @1972JICase970 The 7.3L is an amazing, bulletproof engine. We have many in our fleet and they are so reliable its scary. COLD or not. I would not hesitate to buy a 7.3L.

  • my 7.3 powerstroke with 170k start right up with out the glow plugs on a warmish 50 degree morning

  • @derekyellow2005no really? Duramax is in GM trucks? Gee i didnt realize that.

  • @derekyellow2005 its a diesel retard

  • why did she rev the damn engine? She's gonna blow a piston reving it cold. You don't know a damn thing...

  • tardos lol

  • No need to cycle the key, PCM keeps the glow plugs on for 2 minutes, even after the light goes out.

  • @AgentHog On the newer PSD's it might, that is an old trick from the NA Ford diesels. But they were mechanical and not computer controlled.

  • @DOffio I'm well aware of that on IDI's. We have a 6.9.

  • @AgentHog Grins, well, that was more for the folks that might not...I thought it was retarded when I was told to do it to our 6.9, but damned if it didn't work! They might not put out the power the turbo diesels do, but those old idi's will do a lot of work, and sip fairly daintily on the fule doing it.

  • @DOffio We got the 6.9 dually for free not running, the PO replaced fuel filters and it would never run again. A hour of purging air and it runs like a champ. lol

  • @AgentHog Yeah, the ECM cycles GP's as needed. And not only that, but if it needed a glow plug relay the glow plugs weren't working anyways, so cycling the key did absolutely nothing.

@Redneck454 You probably should've kept cranking for more than 1-2 seconds at a time...diesels work with pressure and heat. Can't create much of either without cranking it. Learn how an engine works before you try starting it...

And, white smoke isn't soot... it's unburnt fuel...

  • Um..KEY???

  • My 7.3L PSD started easier than that when it was 20 and with all 8 glow plugs burnt out, their is something seriously wrong with yours

  • yup white smoke is glow plug

  • Why the hell would you pump a diesel.. IDIOTS +1 to the previous post

  • Learn how to start a diesel, you don't pump them, that won't do anything at all. Hold the throttle 1/2-3/4 open and it woulda fired up on the first try glow plugs or not.

  • @1990camaroirocz That won't do anything, the ICP is at a default setting until the PCM sees the engine is running.

  • @1990camaroirocz 2002 7.3 power stroke has computer controlled fuel injection so until it has actually started it and it gets a consistent crank signal, it disregards app sensor. So you can pump it (or hold it 1/2-3/4) till your face turns blue and it wont make a lick of difference with this engine.

  • @1990camaroirocz mine wont

  • WOW three Whole days??? wtf is an old start cold start???

  • IF you would have put a small coffee can over the exhaust tip to cover it and cranked it it would have started right up!

  • Pump it he says WOW i can see that did a lot of good

    mmm diesel

  • That truck has a throttle by wire so pumping it does nothing when not running

  • It isnt that cold out if your in t-shirts that thing is a pos if it wont start in that weather!!

  • @sweetv8s10 ROFL

  • 210,000 miles is only half way for a 7.3

  • @caleb505 All the way for a 6.0...

  • @caleb505 Not even half way...more like 1/8

  • our 04 dodge ram has 300,000 miles on it and it starts so easily i never use to glow plugs and it does get to the - here in the winter in michigan so its not like its warm

  • @joeldude76 ...glow what on an 04 ram????

  • @texazranger04 heating coil what ever you want to call it

  • whats the temp out

  • @ps3dethman1

Couldnt have been cold, the guy was wearing a t-shirt.

  • @nd14536574596501 well it depends where they are if there north like me it could be 20..

  • @nd14536574596501 well it depends where they are if there north like me it could be 20....

  • hey was that subaru behind that powerstroke ever in a 4x4 magazine or somethin? i think ive seen it somewhere

  • i think it may need new glow plugs

  • built ford tough!!!!! LOL!!!!

  • Hardly an "old start", maybe if it was older than say 1970

  • jesus it was like that after only 3 days?
