The RB25DET is about on par with price. I went RB20DET because I had not seen it before. I have seen Chevy 350's, LS1 and LT1s, SR20DET, RB25DET, RB26DETT, VQ30DE...but no RB20DET.

in canada u can pick up a rb 20det complete with harness ecu and everything for like a grand

I'd Believe Rb20det swaps are easy if you dont have to customise the mounts ie nissan 89 skyline GXE and pre Rb30 motors you can interchange since Rb20det will bolt on rb30 mounts. With that being said i guess the hard part would be just electircals if that.

Nice Swap Bro on my Datsun 510 I did a sr swap!!

I had a 240z 73 but sold it made a few bucks but I do miss it not sure to get the new z or old z with rb26? I would go ask Mike Z shop in whittier for some ideas?

great job keep it up my friend has a right hand drive s30 fairlady and a american 240z hes selling his other one to his friend so his friends giving me his other one and ill have to rebuilt to to my own likings i got a l26 and im about to tune it to a 3.2 stroker man i cant wait ill upload a video on my progress if you dont mind could you give me some info on what you put on your car so i can determine some parts id want to get id appreciate it :)

Love your car man...do you know how much your putting to the wheels? I'm getting ready to swap my 240z with a sr20 and I'm unfamiliar with mods since all I ever build was old school pontiacs and SBC. Need a 520hp 383 roller sbc? I need a tuned sr20det :)

just out of curiosity, did you do the rb20 just to say you did it? a 350 is wayyy cheaper and built properly can run 10s. i know for a fact that rbs are wayyy expensive. but good build.

@oscwrestler Somewhat just to do it. It was pretty cheap for mostly everything. Not as cheep as a Scarab but...why dump a chevy into an import? What is the class and fun in that? The imports are made to be different, sure you could even drop an 800HP 2300 TQ desile motor into a Z...but why go that far away from its roots?

The swap isn't too hard, redoing ALL the electrical right now. It is not by the lakewood mall, the test run was by Target off Bellflower Blvd.

It is harder but now that we are keeping the car the plan is to drop in a RB26DETT along with some go fast parts.

Yes, and you don't need to smog it. Anything 1974 and before is non-smog.
