  • what a great tune man... heyyyyy ! let the spanish kid get some space and do it! ja ja ja... awesome tune.. big up from miami, fl !

  • I'm not that young becuase toayds people barely know who he was. I know exactly who he was but lost track of who he produced or helped. For example I only found out a couple years ago that Bootsy Collins played for him before Funkadelic/Parliament, Bootsy Rubber Band.

  • why the picture at 2:09?

  • This song is also, of course, based on -- the virtually identical to -- the middle break of "get on the good foot." This is such a great song and hearing the woo! Yeah! once is completely sufficient :-)

  • Is that James Brown in the background? If it is that would explain this beat.

  • @grosskopf2 of course that's JAMES BROWN you are probably very young,MS.lynn WAS A JAMES BROWN singer .

  • @grosskopf2

It's a James Brown production, his band, and he's probably playing organ on the cut.

  • @lordkoos - He also supplies the famous "Yeah! Wooo!" shout.

  • This is one of the funkiest female led grooves !

  • Janet Jackson sampled this for "Alright" from the Rhythm Nation album

  • CLASSIC

  • Geez this song must have donated parts of its self to hundreds of house/dance/breakbeat songs in the 80s and 90s. That beat is just class!

  • whoooo, yeah!

  • One of james brown's divas doing her thang. her powerful voice, combined with the JB band ,have no choice but to dance. you can hear james in the backgroud having a great ttime ( woot yeah, you bad Hank)

  • AWWWWWWW.....I'm drunk and really needed to hear this, will love you till I'm sober and be all embarrassed about it tomorrow. Original kicks the shit out of the numerous sampled versions. Cheers for postin

  • considered sampled...comin soon

  • 1:25 pure mothafunkin' magic!

  • "It Takes Two" - Rob Base & DJ E Z Rock

  • Ive heard this before 0:34 Can someone tell me who it is that sampled this

  • @DollaTwo It was Cool C or Steady B I think. A female rapper used it too. This entire song has been used by rappers.

  • @DollaTwo Dr,dre For snoops first album

  • Attitude up the yin yang. Even country western singers are trying to incorporate this into their acts. JB was a genius. In fact she's not even related to William (Bootsy) Collins, or Phelps (Catfish) Collins.

  • GROWING UP I WOULD STAND ON MY MOTHERS LITTLE TABLE AND PLAY AND SING THIS SONG ALL DAY LONG. THE BEST. I LOVE THIS SONG. YES MY SISTER, REST IN PEACE. I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU. U WERE THE BEST.

  • I heard this song on a Philadelphia station. I love this song alot. This song was recorded back in 1972.

FACT : Lyn is not related to Phil Collins.

  • @JeffK1980 haha thanks for droppin knowledge with that fact, will surely come in handy come next trivial pursuit night

  • Nice anthem

  • Dedicated To LeBron James....lol

  • RIP Lyn Collins.. this was grown folks music

  • "Its The Love Giant here in Master Sounds"

  • I heard about five hip hop samples from this one record.

  • Woo! Yeah!

  • We would do the penguin to this it was real funky.Rob Base had to pay big to because he sampled this with out permission.R.I.P.

  • required listening for all young black females.

  • Former rapper Rob Base sampled from 1:25 to 1:34, I loved Lyn Collins,R.I.P.

  • Attitude, and more attitude. That's where it came from. I saw the CMA's, and guess what? Even the country singers are using it now

  • the most sampled song in hiphop, well used to be

  • @damfkingdon1 I would say number 3 behind Funky Drummer & Impeach The President!

  • you bad!

you got to use what you got to get what you want

it takes two to make a thing go right, it takes two to make it outta sight

    Alright!!

  • My respect to the tambourine player!

  • @tronque Haha =D

  • @tronque

    You are so right...

  • @tronque Don't forget the horns.

  • @tronque hahaha the tamborine guy in our band would die. hahahaha

  • YA'BADMAN!

  • When i was a teenager I used to play the transistor radio in the bathroom while I was taking a shower. When this song came on I would start singing and shouting with Lyn until my Dad would bang on the door and tell me to knock it off. It echoed so good in the shower. Lyn was way cool.

  • Priceless - made me laugh!

  • AprilStevensSunny - shower post that is.

  • whoaaaaaa I LOVE IT UUUUU

  • oh shit its THAT song?

  • Does anybody remember a rap group that sampled this song in a skateboard video in the mid-late '80s? I think it was a west coast trio with 2 black rappers and 1 latino DJ. They used to play it on MTV in the afternoons with Dr. Dre and Ed Lover. I appreciate your help!!!

  • @ggblueam It was "Gold Digger" by EPMD. They are Erick Sermon and Parrish Smith. Dj Skratch (one of the best ever) was their DJ at the time. All three are black and from NY. There are no skate boards in the video as far as I can see.

  • @blamewhat19 Thank you for answering my question. But the group definitiely was not EPMD. In
