I did all that on xp just now the only one that required some freeware download of open source was the whole kinda album window effect. I normally use windows but for the first time I think I might go ubuntu.

The first trick was cool, with the tabs in little pop-ups, does it work with firefox or chrome? I don't use ie since ie 5.0. The rest is ordinary, but compiz does better. Slideshow in the background was cool, can you play a a video or screensaver in the background? No? Sad, the others can (Mac/Linux) .... could already 5 fucking years ago. Windows lusers!

In linux, compiz do all of these and MUCH MUCH MORE. But of course Windows 7 is Cool("I use it on my primary pc and on my secondary pc i have linux mint 8<Linux mint best linux :) ")

I wouldn't call Compiz the gold standard. Sure its got glitz effects but it adds very little to the overall usability. Do you really need to have a ton of fire or smoking effects or etc.
