I've trained w the dude who won and he totally sucks. everyone who knows him knows to stay away from this one move. He is notorious at our gym because in the next match he tapped out causae he was too tired. what a bitch! go play basketball. I think Dave has got talent, other guy is a jerk off.
How is that a bitch way to win? He set up the choke from bottom and baited him into the pass. I use this choke a lot because ppl get tunnel vision on getting the side control only to walk right into a submission.
That was me who got choked, i got caught. NO excuse, i now know how to defend that so its a good learning experience. Just wish it woulda happened in practice instead of a tourny
Shit happens man. Most people who comment aren't even Jiu Jitsu players or are white belt professors. Then ya have the crapout/assfliction wearing douchers who watch a few submission101 videos and begin to think their fighters.
Agree, there was no luck involved there. He was working that choke off and on throughout the match. Your coaches need to do their coaching before the tourney, not every second of it. You were too busy listening to them to pay attention to the dude applying the choke. Still, good stuff there, so appreciate the post.
It looks like the guy that got choked out was too busy taking instruction from his coach and really wasnt paying attention to his game and more looking over at his corner. He should of known all those things that his corner man was telling him! 0h well - his loss, Nice choke man! - was that a baseball choke?
well that choke is easy to escape if you know the proper way to do it, the problem was he just didnt know hot to get out of it. the guy was lucky that dave didnt know how to get out of the choke is all im saying... i thought it was hilarious :)
@MashJiuJits wut? if a choke is locked in, there is no easy way to escape. The guy did have piss poor form though, but "david" kept walking INTO the choke. The set up was beyond obvious though. Honestly, cannot believe these guys are competing at blue...
@nvcreations yeh? what do u know about David??? id liek to see u fight him now at purple.. go ahead..? hehe...great fighters get baited every once in a while.. DG is a class fighter and id love to see u put ur trash talk on the mat. OSS
Luck had absolutely nothing to do with it. I'm surprised he didn't get choked out sooner given that he wasn't able to posture up effectively there for a while. I'm not saying your guy was bad, but I don't think you're being fair (at all) to the guy who won.
