Why would the people of Saudi Arabia wait until 2015 to rid themselves of the nasty, autocratic ROYALTY? Wouldn't it be better to hit while the IRON IS HOT and get rid of the royalty right now? The disruption of Saudi oil would be a blessing for the people of Saudi Arabia and the world. The oil shortages scare is nothing but lies to make hundreds of billions of dollars for the oil barons/billionaires. The world is awash in huge oil supplies with tens of thousands of oil wells capped.
@veniceit1 Rubbish on so many counts. There is lots of oil left, but the cheap, easy oil is in irreversable decline. The only oil not yet in decline is the dirty expensive oil, like tar sands, deep water. Dont believe me, then do a bit of research. The IEA admits that world conventional oil production peaked in 2006, and is now in irreversable decline. Overall oil production may soon be in irreversable decline.

And if you truly believe it is produced at the same rate that it's consumed then go for a nice long drive around Texas and look at the derelict abandoned oil fields.. where the oil DRIED UP
Sorry pal, you seem to be a victim of the Oil industry! Oil is abiotic! This is kept secret by the oil companies...higher shortage means a higher oil-price! Oil regenerate faster than we think! It will be here forever! Sadly....but its the reality! We will never get rid of oil in the future!
We peaked in 2006. Overall decline, including unconv. oil, starts at around 2016.
