I was on holiday from Wales at this time, we were in the CN tower when the old girl was circling and waiting for the other 2 aircraft, seeing the 3 of them flying together was a truly awesome sight.
An ageing Millionaire from Texas was interviewed during the late 1960's and was asked 'was it a thrill driving your Lamborghini at 160 mph', he replied 'son, fly a P-51D all the way from England to Germany in 1944 at treetop level doing 350 knots and i'll show you thrill'. We owe these people.
Im actually impressed with the F-16 in this vid. I didnt think It could fly that slow. I know the 22 can, It can tail stand still, but the F-16 keeping in with the P51 is very impressive.
Oh yeah , and to correct the poster . The F - 16 is know as the Falcon . The Viper designation was given to the YF- 17 , now know as the F-18 Hornet .
@ardvark84 no prob ... I mentioned it as a comparison , the F-117 Stealth is also the same size and wingspan . I have seen all 3 on the tarmac at the same time , Surprised me too . Also surprised me how small the F-16 and F-18C are .
i would love to walk outside and see an f22 dogfighting with some russian mig or some shit.. and watch the f22 play with the mig for a while before its dominates it.
@NoobyRC lol yea i knew fighters got bigger over time. i just didnt know the mustang was quite that small. i thought it was about a little smaller than the f-16 if not the same size :\ meh go figure
Great flight! I saw the same at Nellis AFB Aviation Nation 2005 in Las Vegas, but that day were flying an F22 Raptor, F4C Phantom and the P51 Mustang, this help us to understand how the aircrafts technology has evolved..... Regards from Mexico
There is a small number of fully tricked out fighters that the U.S.A.F. put together to push the limits of those fighters engines and avionics capabilities. Those fighters are the F-16 and the F-15. It was a very successful program so the Air Force decided to alter the names of these upgraded planes to the F-15 "Strike" Eagle and the F-16 "Viper"...
only in 1976 did a person ask for the name fighting falcon in a name the plane contest and won and got to eat on base in the mess hall and get a full tour ...now ya know question do you know what the "F" stands for in f-16?
The F-16 is often referred to as the "Viper", a nickname especially popular with people involved with the F-16. Before "Fighting Falcon" was selected as official name, pilots at Hill AFB, the first F-16 base, came up with a number of proposals, including "Viper". Lt. Col. Pat "Gums" McAdoo, USAF Ret., one of the first F-16 pilots at Hill AFB, recalls the origin of the name "F-16 Viper"

I am sure the Russian pilot might disagree, just look for Su-37 videos
strontiumdog262 1 year ago
@strontiumdog262 the technology in the f-22 is far more superior than the su-37 but it would be a good fight.. for a little bit
blackpenguin69 1 year ago
@blackpenguin69 there would be no fight, you cant kill what you cant see.

I always thought "Fighting Falcon" sounded a bit gay.
But "Viper" - that really suits the F16.
And just to confuse things - the Israelis call their F15s "Falcon" and their F16s "Hawk".
