I've been landing on Schiphol / The Netherlands with wind shear where the plane was tilting to the point where the tip of the left wing was almost hitting the ground. Thank "god" the pilots decided to make a relauch and did a full throttle take-off again to retry the landing attempt. The reaction of all the people (including me!) when the plane was tilting like that was: "woooow"... It was a wild "ride" I tell you... but we were clapping our hands of when we finally landed! SAFELY!

actually if you have any flight knowledge, landing planes on autopilot is very risky and dangerious and is only done on rare occasians. autopilot is used for when in mid air flights, when you reach your crusing altitude so that the pilots may eat their lunch with out having to worry fully about steering their plane while eating their sandwhich and soup :D

AND planes are often landed on autopilot, it's called autoLAND, and has no other consequences other than a slightly bumpier landing (+/- 100fpm either way) can be done, as im sure you have looked uo by now, on any airport with an ILS System in place. and the results of an autoLAND would be none other than that of following a GSI and Localiser, which is used EVERY time a pilot carries out an ILS approach
