  • Thanks for the music guys :(

  • An amazing song and the reason they became famous and popular. Too bad radio stations including Sirius/XM hardly play it. Come on troops bombard them with requests

  • ...one I have never seen live...and really want to...

  • this wasn't on the set list for that night, they decided to play it seconds before it started... after the 'proper' broadcast they did an extra hour and had to work out what songs they all knew to play.

it's not he hated it, he was just trying to remeber it as it went along!

  • im guessing Stipe hates this song by this time lol

  • Michael is pretty sloppy in this one, he cries a bit at the end.

  • Michael Stipe is such a dong! He doesnt do them any credit! Just blathers @the mike!

  • haha what happened at 1:00?

  • Wow. M.S. is really rockin' some bad skin.

  • @comeon224

meanwhile he's sexy as hell and you're just some loser making rude comments on youtube.

  • they need to start doing this song again

  • I love how Michael has forgotten the words to this song...god, they haven't played it since 99, and before that, like since, 92'....

  • I'm pretty sure they played the song at a gig during the Monster tour.

  • The last gig of the monster tour i think

  • They played this at the last show of the monster tour and a time or two in 2003.

  • When REM started out Stipe really did not have any "written" words for the song. This was a problem for copyrighting. I don't think he ever had a 1st verse 2nd verse etc... he would just kind of wing it.

  • Why is the drumset set up left handed..?

  • Going out on a limb here... because the drummer is left-handed?

  • I am attempting to try and figure out how you managed to post that question...I got a headache.

  • Uh, their original drummer was not left handed. Im not a fucking idiot. Dont be a dick. I was wondering who was drumming here.

  • Bill Berry, thier original drummer, left the band not long after he collapsed on stage with a brain aneurysm. He left in 97 i think.

  • I heard he now lives on a farm, which has been his life long dream...interesting

  • the original drummer had already left the band by '98 im pretty sure

  • Joey Waronker is the drummer that played with them on albums "Up" & "Reveal", and all the shows around that time period. He's also played with lots of other main stream acts over the years, Beck included. Now the drummer is Bill Reiflin, who's been with them since '02 I believe. Bill Reiflin's more agressive than Joey, but also more technically efficient that Bill Berry, the original drummer. All three have their own style, and each very good in thier own way.

  • I find it so interesting that REM seems so much more aggressive in their live shows now than they were say back in the 90's.

Bill Reiflin is a great drummer... I only learned recently that he was in Ministry... I still like Berry better, but he does a fantastic job.

I see REM as a 6 piece band now.

  • i can't remember first verse :p

  • Nice...timeless song.

  • awesome, and Joey kicks ass here!!

  • great song!!!!

  • i'd give a lot to see them in such an intimate athmosphere!!!

  • Good Song

  • I would die for this band, specially for Michael!!

  • Awesome! REM Rocks!

  • ahaha.

    sick.
