This band makes me proud to be from the south. It's so funny though because this is one of the most famous spots on Earth for the food, the art, the music, just the culture in general and it deserves alot more respect for producing these guys, as well as being the origins of the Blues and Jazz. Southern U.S. fucking rocks. It's the last true, genuine, and real place in America.

Obviously you skipped 3rd grade history. The blues originated from plantation workers in the south. They evolved from southern baptist hymnals and traditional african music. Jazz later left the south and moved north during the Harlem renaissance. As far as the south "deserving alot more respect for producing these guys" was a very loose line and rather exaggerated. But actually if it weren't for their southern roots they wouldn't sound anything the same. The south owns.

what history is that? I found the vocalists vocals were very unique, kind of reminded me of a different era, 60's or something. I was interested right from the first time hearing "Use Somebody". Thought it was a great song. Their style is quite unique.

I heard use somebody on the radio and it was so unique compared to a lot of other rock music. I think the music is similar somewhat to other music similar in some ways to band of horses. However the vocals make it unique. No singer sings like their singer.

Well this video show's some of it. I did a project on them so I learned a lot about their history. Briefly, their father (Ivan) was a minister and there motheer (Betty-Ann) was also very religeous so they weren't aloud to listen to rock music or "devil music". Caleb used to sleep with a radio under his pillow and listen to oldies. I think that's why their so unique, because they had to come up with there own kind of rock. :]

Thats cool. Is the lead singer named caleb. Thats what I think more bands should do - something original something from what influenced them and inspired them. Too often it seems there are all these imitators out there that just do the same thing to get radio time. And a lot of the public doesnt realize theyre listening to the same music with minor changes.

Yeah, the lead singers name is Caleb. I totally agree it's all the same trash on the radio and then there's KOL that have like only two songs that made it to the radio. I love all the music from the 80's and 90's because you actually had to have talent. Now you just need to have the right look and a studio that can change your voice. But KOL are beyond talented and the only modern music I listen too ;)

KOL is one of the greatest bands I've ever heard.
