Aaron did a great job with harvey dent but i really do think hes gone for good. I dont know why but i want to see a Riddler or penguin in the next film heres hoping :-)
What if he does come back? Remember when Spiderman's director said that he wouldn't include Venom in the third film? He lied. He didn't want anyone to think Venom would be in it.
i agree that the intention initally was to kill him off. But as for the unforseen death of heath ledger, the path of harvey may not be over yet. How many characters "die" in movies only to come back in the sequel? All im saying is hes "death" was ambigiuos enough to write around if they do decide to bring him back. The "script" holds the original intention of the writer, yes - But is not out of the realm of possibilty or plausibilty if he returned in some form.
i dont think they killed dent they probaly just locked him up in Arkham. Batman took the blame for his "death" so that everything dent worked for wouldn't end, well thats what i got from the ending
i don't think harvey's dead, honestly. i think he's supposed to be dead, but if it leads people to lean towards both ways, then anything can happen in the next movie.
Heard that Johny Depp was aproached for the role of the Riddler =D I think he may also be a great Joker as well but then again Ledgers portrail will take alot of work.
This movie is great! and we all love the joker but this movie will be unique because it belongs to joker and two face! i dont think two face is dead! If it were up to us we would put the joker in every film right! but it wouldn't just seem like batman without the Riddler, Freeze, Deadshot, clayface, crockman! these movies have great writers and and great director!
The way they literally left The Joker hanging at the end would indeed indicate a sequel, but who would have the courage to tackle the role of the Joker after such a tour de force as Heath Ledger's performance? But, there is entirely too much money to be made for the series to end here. If they found a way to give a lame-ass movie like The Hulk a sequel, they'll find a way for this one...PEACE.
The Joker living symbolises both how much better Batman is than the Joker (and Harvey Dent, Batman actually PASSED his test), and that evil like that cannot be killed. This is why Batman, the good guy, is wearing all black (impenetrable and multilayered) and the evil Joker white (shows the simplicity of pure evil).
Dude, that's deep, and probably correct as well, but, I think you give a movie studio WAAAY too much credit, if you think my assertion is not valid. Now that I think of it, I bet there are any number of actors that would be willing to take on the role of the Joker. Johnny Depp would give it a good run...PEACE.
ya i am more than positive he is dead, but there was no funeral... just a memorial. no coffin no grave no tombstone. so there is a small creek in the door. but he did fall pretty far so idk haha
This is the most emotional song in the OST, and I think for a very good reason. Good intention, morals, and his love for people is lost through the corruption of his soul. This film goes so deep into the dark side of people it's beautiful to watch. I def need to see it again. Beautiful soundtrack as well
But Harvey Dent WAS the story IMO. Nolan did a great job in getting the audience attatched to Eckardt's character and then shocking the audience with how far Dent goes in the end.
dumbass harvey died in this movie, the series is over, no one can do as good as heath ledger no one, theres no reason to make a sequel with the joker, the series is over
The series is not over. Just because Ledger and Dent died doesn't mean it is over. BTW Gary Oldman already confirmed it, Riddler is the next villain for the 3rd Batman.
yeh well i hope it doesnt take another 3 years dude, i knw fuckin tons of effort goes into making these films as epic as they are, but wuld luv to have a sequel by 2010
well if harvey is dead, im slightly dissapointed cuz tht means two face was underused just like scarecrow in the first film, plus tht dunn mean end of series cuz theyre plenty of villains
Calm down, I wrote that comment before the movie even came out, and that is what I thought was going to happen. I know no-one can do better than Heath Ledger, but the story must go on, and there WILL be one more Batman movie. The series is not over yet.
I think the music at 2:43-3:11 is where Harvey Dent falls into the acid and becomes two-face. Just the way that part sounds makes me think that it will fit good with that scene, and this is the birth of the main villain for the last and third Batman, so it has to be epic.
Which is curoius, since Harvey's theme was already used for Batman in the first movie. Check the scene when Rachel tells Bruce she's going to Arkham and he decides to follow her... what now is Harvey's theme sounds when Bruce opens the closet and the batsuit is shown to the camera.
Still, it sounds pretty good for Harvey. I must admit it fits him better. But I kinda get a little pissed off when a musician does this... just a personal criterion, I guess.

Everyone, Harvey Dent IS DEAD
It said so in the script. His neck broke from the fall.
Batman did not die because he is physically stronger than Dent and was wearing armor.
I would love for him to be alive; I thought Aaron Eckhart played him really well, but he's not coming back.

I AGREE...
batman is the hero of gotham, but not that the city needs at the moment ..
However gotham return the call by batman, and he will return ai (3 movie)

I agree with you; Eckhart was a perfect actor for Dent. It's still disappointing that he won't be in the next film...

Well. In the "In Memoriam" they don,t show the body. He could be alive

you saw his face, they are NOT going to have an open-casket funeral.

We don't know for sure if he's alive or not, because for one it's still WAY too early to say. Let's just leave it at that.
