  • Great video, the book of Colossians talks about this, God bless! =]

  • Oh, and BTW, about the costs? No one is making money off this. We buy them from the church, at cost.

  • Besides, I wasn't raised LDS, I joined the LDS church when I was 21. That was 31 years ago. So, you can't blame it on not thinking for myself.

I think you need to learn from our official web site what we believe.

Can I judge all Christians by, say, the Westboro Baptist church?

Most Christians are taught not to think for themselves, in fact, Mormons know more about your faith than you do, most likely. We definately know more about our faith than you do.

  • Is this recording made by someone who speaks officially for the LDS church? No, I even doubt this person is LDS. Most Mormons I know don't EVEN believe this stuff about their temple garments. Including me.

  • if you want to know about the importance in garments it has been stated all throughout the old testament. this is stupid and ignorant

  • are you under the law of the old testament or under grace of the new testament? one is works and the other is grace!

is it a garment that save your or the blood of Jesus?

what is important to you, his work at the cross or your in your works?

if salvation is a gift then why would you have to work for it?

  • get missionaries to explain things to you, have you ever heard of "hard headed" or "stiff necked"? its something else you can learn about with all your free time

  • The LDS woman who believes that Satan won't be able to tempt her when she wears holy underwear is deluded to think that a garment is going to protect her from Satan's temptation, as you point out, sister 2020hidesite, as though it were kind of magical rabbit's foot.

Jesus never relied on His clothing to protect Him from temptation in the wilderness; He always directed Satan to Scripture, "It is written..." That is our mainstay in life, God's Word, not garment's Joseph Smith wears.

  • i believe she used the word "hermeneutics" within it's text. the word "hermetic" means airtight. it's another way of saying, "that don't hold water." we're really not sure what Christ was wearing during the crucifiction. but does it really matter? she is right in saying this paradigm that our drawers are somehow divine articles, like the ones alluded to in the O.T., is nowhere mentioned nor suggested in the Bible. Read the Bible people!

  • HA HA HA HA HA Ha is this what it has come to you have run out of things to defile and mock hahah you people who make this need to get a life and let me live mine. You are pathetic and you have my pity. HA HA HA HA HA. Tell me what church you believe in and i bet i have some "truths" for you too.

  • We LDS believe that the body is the temple of the spirit. In the temple we converse with someone representing the Lord through the veil of the temple. The garments are the veil of our own personal temples, and when we honor our temple covenants, we are entitled to receive revelation from the Lord "through the veil." What is it about this that you people find worthy of mocking?

  • its not biblical thats why

  • Awesome vid. Makes sense to me. Now I'm saved, I don't believe in Mormon stuff, nor heard of these things before. I go to a Baptist church, but I find i'm not holding myself to a name. I'm a believeer of what the Bible preachs. Thanks for this wonderfully funny vid.

  • "underwear to protect against the firey darts of Satan." LOL Was Joseph Smith wearing them at the shoot out the night he got shot?! If so they didn't seem to work out too well for him lol.

  • for you to say this sickens me. Joseph Smith was a wonderful loving man who was just another man who believed in something like anyone else. But he was judged unfairly for it. He was dragged out of his bed and thrown out on the cold ground. He was tarred and feathered and tortured many times in his life but he stuck through without denying his belief anytime. For that i believe he is a very courageous and strong man. For you to say that makes you the coward.

  • What I love about the LDS church is that it does not tell you what to think. Read Mormon 10:3-5. The LDS Church teaches you how to learn for yourself and how to make your own judgments.

It is not hermeneutically unsound. Do you know what hermeneutics is? Your comments reveal that you know very little about hermeneutics. That argument is weak and unsound.

  • i really like watching your videos because you get me thinking. I like having people to think with, and by watchingnyour videos, i feel like im thinking with you. Thank you for getting my mind going.

  • thank you for your kind comment!

  • She is right. It starts with small man made rules and progresses to more and more rules that you can't keep....Man made religion makes the word of God of no effect.

  • holy uderwear makes excited

  • okay, so i've done as you've suggested: i've tested it, and it is true. have you tested it? if you haven't been a memember of the LDS church, studied its doctrines with an open mind, actually gone to the temple and have worn the garments with the understanding that they serve as a reminder of the covenants you've made with Lord, you can not sit there and preach at us that it doesn't hold water. you're just a hypocrite like the other antimormons.

  • nah.. you're just a gullible idiot who believes that a con-artist named Joe Smith was visited by an angel named, appropriately, "MORONi". Your religion was started in the 1800's, you've got no archaeology, ancient texts, or anything else to back up your beliefs other than what ONE MAN claimed a short while ago. You have been conned. Your relationship with the Savior should be enough to "remind" you of anything you need to be reminded of.

  • Alcoholics Anonymous was co-opted entirely from the cult known as "Buchmanism" aka "The Oxford Groups". They teach that your personal higher power can be anything, doorknobs are a common example, I don't recall anyone using their undies, but no reason why they couldn't, as long as they magically remove "character defects" and "shortcomings"... Thanks for the video.

  • I hope you realize that Morman777 is not representing the religion, he is mocking it. So this response to that video as if it were real ... is kind of silly. Mormons don't believe that the garments are "magic" or "lucky" or anything like that. It is more practical than you might think.

  • Yes, some churchs don't tell you to think, they just think for you, but the LDS church is built on finding a personal testimony. The LDS church tells a person to pray with a full heart and then throught the Holy Ghost they will recieve there answer.

  • "...the God whom the 'Christians' worship is a being of their own creation..." (Apostle Charles W. Penrose, Journal of Discourses 23:243).

  • satan don't want you to wear your supernatural skivies!

  • a valiant effort to help a confused person.

  • This person is confused as well if she thought the other video was sincere. I thought it was pretty obvious.

  • i wonder why this is such a big focus for people, and i dont see anything about the "garments" other religions wear on the outside. There are a few who think women wearing pants is sinful, there are some that "dress up" in special robes for different times of the year. LDS does not do anything any weirder than any other religon, people just seem to be afraid of them more.

  • Why don't you keep working on that "thinking" thing. I think you've got a ways to go...

Mormon's don't believe they are saved by their underwear. All they do is remind them of covenants they've made.

  • Oh wow, you totally just strengthened my beliefs and reminded my why I wear my temple garments every day. Thanks!

  • hey, your statement doesn't apply to people like me who is a convert to LDS church. I did think and gained a testimony of the church. All of your talk on the video, to me means that you don't understand what the mormons' beliefs are. LdS church taught me who God is and how we can keep a close relationship with him. Don't argue with me with those polygamy, many gods doctrines stuff like this. I got all these for 2 years everyday.

  • I do not question that you are not sincere, and desire a close relationship with God.

    You stated

"don't understand what the Mormons' beliefs are"

By all means please tell what they are I would truly like to know

  • wow you really don't know much

  • You can convince yourself that any religion is true as long as you spend as much time and sincerity investigating another religion.

  • Mormonism would dry up and blow away,

if they would use their common sense and reason it out.

  • I believe Items like rosaries, tzitzit, wwjd braclets, and holy underwear can all be good things. If they are viewed as a reminder of God. I could see how they would help you to think of spiritual things throughout the day. The problem exists only if the wearer of said garments believes that the power of salvation is in the garment. I my mind putting power in the object would fit into the category of idolatry, if we are talking in biblical terms. Enjoyed the video.

  • see, this is why people who don't know what their talking about should just shut up. the garments are just to remind you of your covenants.

  • how about a bracelet or a ctr ring? I didn't really like wearing the undies. Why should God care what underwear you wear?

And it's more than just to remind you. When you go through the temple, you covenant to wear them day and night. You can only take them off to shower. Why so strict if they are just to remind you of covenants?

  • well that's what I've been told why don't you ask someone whos actually been through the temple?

  • There's a simple way to test this "undergarment" thing. What if the temple garments don't work and satan can still get to me?

The answer will let you know what they are.

  • hah, there is more to it then just it being underware. no one would understand it unless you've been through all that proceeds to that point.

  • So what proceeds to that point to make in mean more ?

  • Morman777 is a joke, don't you get that?

  • i got it

  • I dont get it what do you mean

  • Morman777 is not a Mormon, and is making fun of Mormonism.

  • WoW. This film kind of scared me some. During the last year i was hanging out with people who were of a different religion an i didnt think it matter but they were the only people i seen. An after watching this i think i may have picked up something(s) from them Or there religon? "love your videos by the way Big Fan"

  • Another instance of connecting special vestitures to increased power or capacity of body or mind is the clothing that's been used through the ages (for a LONG time) by the academic community. For some reason wearing these garments, and receiving a piece of paper, endows the receiver with enhanced capacity.

  • You lack understanding of the purpose behind symbols in religion.

To loose sight of the purpose and reason for symbols in religion is akin to a scientist forgetting that designations given to various observed phenomena are simply parts of a mental construct.

  • Typical female! Always bitching about a man's underwear! ARGH!

DOH! Hey, maybe I should've watched the video before I typed that, huh? Hehehe....

Some "religious garments" have a mnemonic significance -- like the prayer shawl (tallit) and its fringes (tzitzit) in Judaism. No, it ain't used like Batman's body armour or Wonder Woman's lasso, but it serves a purpose nonetheless. And now I feel compelled to listen to Jim Croce's "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown". ;)

  • Keep up the good work!
