  • LOVE IT!!!!

  • I am so curious as to weather or not the stores accept the returns or not. I have stopped buying anything I knew not to be organic even at TJ's and it's saved our wallets big time. If I can't bake it with my organic flour and cane sugar etc... I can't have it. Lost a lot of weight now too!

  • The problem is not labeling, I think most people won't care because they can only afford the modified stuff, plus if this does happen the media will try to spin it. Farmers use GMOs because its cheaper-more profits, its gotten to the point where they are under too much pressure, and of course govt isnt going to subsidize to grow organically, they have the excuse of a financial crisis. The big issue here is money, and they always win because they have the most influence. It's sad but true.

  • @YGslayer I say the only solution to this: grow your own food, perhaps small communities of informed people, or somehow provide financial compensation to farmers for growing organically, and it's obviously not going to come from the government. And the companies that sell organic products have the same issues... they cannot find enough farmers who grow organically, so that's why the issue is first with getting farmers to grow organically.

  • @YGslayer Unfortunately this reality is also why lots of foods now use artificial sweeteners and low-carb, low-fat, all this unnatural stuff, vegetable oil, corn oil, etc that is not found in nature, artificial flavors and such. Companies go under financial pressure because its cheaper to switch over to the unhealthy stuff, meanwhile the FDA approves these things and erases a possible guilty conscious. The way these things are done, its all over society, they use financial pressure.

  • @YGslayer I forgot to mention that the pesticide/ insecticide issue is another thing that pressures farmers into switching to GMO, really the whole thing has gone out of control... something needs to be done of course but first we need to understand the root of the problems.

  • Very good! Andy @Corrigans city farm, Blackpool facebook page in Ireland

  • @Zhavlon @sparkylovesmangos Every dietitian and nutritionist is aware of the Pima Indian studies and how altering their traditional diet has contributed to an increase in diabetes. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8422813 If you actually cared about the nutrition of Africans, you should be promoting native African plants high in beta carotene and other nutrients such as Cleome gynandra, instead of Golden Rice which could increase health, environmental and economic problems for Africans.

  • @Zhavlon @sparkylovesmangos Polished rice(which is what Golden rice was made for) may be linked to increases in diabetes. nih.gov/researchmatters/june2010/06282010diabetes.htm Africans may already be more prone to diabetes. diabetes.diabetesjournals. org/content/52/4/1047.short Unpolished rice has beta carotene and other nutrients and may decrease risk of diabetes. Why give Africans $100,000,000 polished GM rice and maybe increase diabetes, instead of polished rice they already have for Vit A?

  • @Zhavlon @sparkylovesmangos People are not afraid of GM crops because of ignorance. They are afraid because of knowledge of various problems GM crops have already caused, such as GM contamination, herbicide resistant weeds, pesticide resistant insects etc. Pro-GM people either have a financial interest in GM crops, are unaware or can`t understand the numerous studies suggesting harms from GM crops.

  • @Zhavlon @sparkylovesmangos Golden Rice cost over $100 million to produce. Do you know how many lives could have been saved using $100 million for supplements or to grow foods rich in beta carotene? Conventional breeding has already created nutrient enhanced crops and most studies suggest organic farming itself increases nutrient content in food. Why use GM food when there are cheaper, less risky alternatives?

  • People are afraid of GE crops for one reason: ignorance.

  • @sparkylovesmangos What really gets my goat is this: 6000 people a day die of Vitamin A deficiency. That's a 9/11 every 12 hours. 100g of GE Golden Rice (less than a cup uncooked) could stop that. Yet, here we have people arrogantly protesting a technology they know virtually nothing about that could save the lives of millions of starving people in some of the poorest parts of the world, in front of a food filled supermarket no less, while Golden Rice remains unused because of such protests.

  • @Zhavlon I totally agree. I personally know some people who are against golden rice, and I just don't understand it. I guess if THEY aren't the ones starving and having their children go blind then they just don't care. It's very sad.

  • @Zhavlon In reality these people who are protesting are not arrogant. They are informed of the New World Order's agenda of depopulation using food crops sprayed with Monsanto's poisonous concoctions.

The Universities and other "educational" institutions that teach that GMOs are "OK and even good for you", are all OWNED by the Rockefellers and other elites. Google search the Rockefellers / Rothchilds and their agendas.

It doesn't help starving people by providing them with poisonous GMO food.

  • @JakeThanksYou Ok, maybe they're not all arrogant. Some are arrogant, paranoid, and delusional. Seriously, have you ever even met any of the people you're throwing these accusations at? I have. NWO agents my foot. I think it's arrogant to go around acting like you posses detailed knowledge of something no expert does, when you really know nothing about it. You say GMOs are poisonous. Mind going into the biochemistry of that a bit? I'm not holding my breath.

  • @sparkylovesmangos No. People that have done their homework know that Monsanto is an Illuminati owned corporation. Depopulation is the real agenda.

This is done under the deceptive guise of "feed all the people that are hungry".

In other countries, where roundup is used, many individuals became very sick and have died as a result of GMO crops. This is not progress, it's regression.

Listen to David Rockefeller and Bill Gates depopulation speeches here on Utube. Just do a search for them.

  • @JakeThanksYou For one, I think the "illuminati" is crap. Also, even if there was an illuminati, they are obviously really, really ineffective since they've been established since the 1700's and still haven't begun this "new world order." Plus, the supposed "new world order" promotes horrible, scary things like gender equality, secularism, and humanism. Also, Bill Gates promotes improving living conditions for people worldwide, which will ultimately lead to a smaller pop. Sounds terrifying.

  • @sparkylovesmangos The "Illuminati" are alive and forging ahead as they have been doing for millennia. You really need to do some reading about it and Bill Gates and his so-called "vaccination" program. You are right about one thing - "Ultimately leading to a smaller population". BTW- the New World Order is already here, you apparently haven't noticed it trying to push Monsantos GMO's, among other things. Do a search on "Agenda 21" if you still are unsure. There is a lot of info. out there.

  • ...You still have hard working people trying to do the right thing and having their own business, which is a feat in its own, yet all their intentions and goals taken away from them from the hands of another. I don't find it so black and white as some make it out to be. (Not claiming that you are). Our consumers need to make change through their spending, but the way I see it, there are companies that contribute more to the problem than Whole Foods, my first reaction was simply that.

  • You realize that if you worked WITH companies like Whole Foods, who have been fighting this issue since 1992, but because of the sheer influence and power that companies like Monsanto have against the Federal Government, have continually slowed the process down...this effort could be successful in half the time. The Federal Government is where your efforts should be concentrated. Not at stores that are shaping the way the average consumer, (most not even vegetarian), is approaching food.

  • @WeAreGreatAreWeNot unfortunately the Federal Government is owned by corporations like Monsanto so we feel that greater change can be made if companies like Whole Foods independently changed their policies. We can not expect change on this issue on a federal level because the revolving door between our government and Monsanto. In terms of working with Whole Foods, they have somewhat sold out on the organic movement, check out the organic elite surrenders to Monsanto article on the OCA website

  • @organicconsumer You have a valid point, and I will not argue it. I agree that Whole Foods DOES have the choice, and the means to change their policies. However the main problem I see is the issue of levels of contamination. With no regulations given to farmers who drown their crop in pesticides, there is no way for farmers who neighbor those lands to claim their product as GMO free, and or Organic because even the slightest contamination still affects the integrity of the product...

  • @organicconsumer that article lacked any sort of nuance as to how they could somehow be the "organic elite". it's almost laughable. over a thousand organizations present, and whole foods is singled out. how come the oca doesn't attempt to change kroger or safeway, rather than the stores who are already doing a pretty damn good job?

  • The Federal Government is run by Monsanto and other large corporations and that is like asking the wolf not to eat the sheep...

  • @kornigator Yes we all know that. What does not make sense is these demonstrations are targeted at companies that are pioneers in this market, industry and agriculture. Whole Foods has done more to support the cause that inspired this movement than any of its competitors, let alone the activists that protest in their stores. What about Walmart? Safeway? King Supers? Do some research. In the end it is the dollar that decides, so take out the middle man and grow your own food or buy only local.

  • @Zhavlon There are hundreds of thousands of health studies on Non-GM foods compared to about 400 health studies on GM foods. About 75% of the GM studies were done by biotech companies and most are 90 day rodent trials. About half of the 100 or so studies done by independant scientists suggest there are differences between GM fed animals and Non-GM fed animals and most of those studies conclude those differences in GM fed animals could be potentially harmful.

  • @Zhavlon THIS IS THE SCIENTIFIC CONSENSUS!!! "Hence, assessments of modern biotechnology is lagging behind development:information can be anectdotal and contradictory and uncertainty on benefits and harms is unavoidable. There is a wide range of perspectives on the environmental, human health and economic risks and benefits of modern biotechnology, many of the risks are yet unknown."-IAASTD, UN/World Bank report by 400 scientists.

  • @H204Real I think the point you are missing is that you are supporting GMOs buy spending your money on these products to do your demonstration. The only way that companies are going to stop putting GMOs in their products is if they are no longer making a profit. Voting with your dollar is the most logical way to voice your opinion. The more people buying organic food, the more companies want to make organic food. It's that simple. This food dump is wasteful and doesn't make any sense.

  • Love your cause but no offense, unless I missed something don't you think you should be giving credit to the artist who produced the song used in the video?

  • So first you're buying these foods and so supporting the companies that are putting GMOs in their products. Then you return the items which does nothing but waste food and resources. The grocery store has to throw away any food that is returned, so that food, that packaging, the energy used to manufacture it, the gas used to ship it- all WASTE! That is so irresponsible to the environment & all the starving people in the world and a ridiculous way to prove a point. So sad.

  • @VegWhoHatesTofu the point is, that it is not worth feeding to anyone...this includes POOR and STARVING PEOPLE and pets. why give them them garbage? as for the environment, the faster we stop producing GMO foods, the faster we preserve the natural environment. why not leave your comments on Monsanto's (and the like) website. Tell them to stop using energy and packaging to manufacture and ship GMO's.

  • Respond to this video...the store will most likely stop purchasing gmo food from those distributors. so no waste in the future.

  • @H204Real

Voice your concerns to the manufacturers of these products directly, not through a response to a YouTube video. Every dollar is a vote, simple supply and demand...Don't buy products with GMO's and the store will see a decrease in sales, leading to an eventual stop in carrying the product.

  • i want to take part in this, the next ones in chicago right? come to CA

  • When people do this and return the food for refund the food gets tossed, a better bet is to take the food to a shelter and donate it to the less fortunate. Depending on the state (MA is one) once the food leaves the store it cannot be returned to the shelves due to potential contamination risk- razor blades & poison.

So go ahead and protest but do the right thing, donate the food to a shelter instead of adding to the waste stream.

  • @comfortableshoesstud no way. we owned a successful organic food store for years. we were happy to give them our organic excess, not garbage. they are still human! are you kidding ???

  • Why exactly should I be afraid of GMOs? You seem to be saying GMOs are dangerous because they're GMOs. That's a circular argument. What specific protein/compound is found exclusively in all GMOs that isn't present in their non-GMO counterparts, how does it get there, why is that specific agent harmful? IDK is not an.acceptable answer. Furthermore, why has the scientific community failed to acknowledge its existence? Also, your theatrical tactics reek of fearmongering. High on flair low on fact

  • @Zhavlon Look up Jeffery Smith on google. From there you will find endless studies and information on the dangers of GMOs

  • @gregdoh Oh I'm well aware of Jeffery Smith. Note that he does not have a single paper in NIH. What should it tell you that he directs his claim to laymen, not experts who can critically review him? Look up Academic's Review for an overview of his half truths and whole lies. When I ask if there are any reasons to fear GMOs, I meant ones that have scientific verification, not just ones some non-scientist made up to make money by selling books and getting speaking deals.

  • @Zhavlon did you know that the safety tests are performed by the bio-tech corporations themselves?

hell, if i was a profit driven corporation with only one sole purpose (to increase profit), i would not publish any

material showing the hazards of GMO food. go do some reading. no one is going to prove it to you but yourself.

everyone here has done their research. time for you to stay up a little later, turn off the tv and figure it out on your own.

  • @H204Real Really, you mean scientific consensus was determined just by reading a few press releases from a company and not by doing hundreds of tests? Gosh, the world's scientists must sure be dumb.

Jeez, you can't possibly be serious. Seriously, there has been tons of research done by non-corporate scientists. Go to any university's biology department's website and you'll see bunches. Companies don't own an entire branch of science, stop pretending they do, that's just disingenuous.

  • @Zhavlon Really? Cause I went to a small University and my biology professors don't have a problem with GE. In fact, they say that the population at large is only afraid of them because of ignorance.

  • @sparkylovesmangos I agree absolutely. I must have worded a comment poorly to give you the impression that I thought otherwise. I'm attending a land grant uni, and I've yet to meet a prof in the hort bio or biochem departments who was not pro-GMO. And I agree, the opposition is due to ignorance. If more people had a stronger background (or any at all) in molecular biology/genetics/ag, or heck, how science works in general, it's a pretty safe bet we wouldn't be seeing this backlash against GE

  • I agree!. DO NOT BUY THESE PRODUCTS FOR ANY REASON!!!!. We need to stop feeding the corporate machine. Public awareness is one thing but a well devised plan is not putting money into Monsanto's evil dark hands. We try to do 80% of our shopping at our local co-op. If you have the space plant your own garden and supplement from there. And for God's sake... SAVE YOUR SEEDS!!!

  • ......don't buy the items for your demonstration......the people who matter, the ones that you really need to get the attention of, are only going to see that sales are increasing so they will produce more......print pictures of the items from your computer.

  • I have a better idea. Shop a Food Coop that has, in its bylaws, policies that do not support GMOs and favor brands that label authentically and consistently! Don't support Whole Foods or Trader Joes!

  • What a great video! I thought I was an informed consumer...I guess not

  • Thank you for providing an effective way to be part of the solution.

  • is there even any truly non GMO products anymore ? really by taint or by design ? scary stuff.

  • Why not include conventional groceries, too? This is where there is the most need for GMO awareness. Goal would be adjusted. While targeting natural grocery stores to eliminate GMO-sourced products, may want to request all grocery/supermarkets to have at least a non-GMO aisle and/or non-GMO selections clearly labeled (i.e., Non-GMO Project verified) next to other items of a similar category.

  • Scary world we live in!!! We need to take charge and stand up against this crap. What do our kids have to look forward to???

  • Whole Foods has been bought by those who do not care if chems and other are sold to the public. :(

  • Excellent video!!

  • How about also going to Home Depot- and let them know we don't support ALL the Round-Up= Monsanto poisons they sell- I was there today they had rows and rows of Monsanto products!!

  • @jett888 Well I'm not surprised they are fully stocked of Monsanto's Round-Up poison! They show TV commercials ALL day long!!! :o(

  • eat cheap gmo foods = get cancer, etc.... that sounds like a reasonable cost.

  • I absolutely agree with you; my point is, or rather my question really, is how do you get more people involved? Like I said, if you can't show a viable (affordable, doable) alternative, this will never go anywhere. You can't get to one point from another without showing how to get there.

  • This is going to be tough to get going, unless you can show the other products that can be purchased, and purchased at a reasonable cost. Otherwise, it's nothing more than drama. People are growing tired of drama.

  • @fatdaddyherb This is the problem with America, why so many things are wrong with it that we COULD POTENTIALLY turn around, like gas prices. Yeah, it's way easier to bitch about things you don't like than it is to take simple, small, slightly inconvenient steps to make things better. You want cheaper gas? Don't drive whenever you have an unnecessary trip! Believe it or not, walking a mile to the store won't hurt you! Don't want GMO's in your food? DON'T BUY 'EM! Simple as that.
