  • Why the fuck would you interrupt the musician you came to see with your conversation? its very rude. If Thom's gonna talk, he just wants to talk, please don't interrupt. Just sit back and listen!.

  • Comment removed

  • I think this song has become Come to your Senses. Can't wait to hear it though lol

  • @Cestpasmarrant Why do you think that??? U think they might've reworked it???

  • this better be on the atoms for peace album

  • Thom Yorke is one hell of a man.

  • I LOVE FINDING NEW RADIOHEAD SONGS BEFORE EVEN RADIOHEAD FINDS THEM! ha. this will be a hit, I can feel it. I was right about staircase.

  • damn. damn. hes so damn great. so beautiful. thats art^^. everytime i listen to that, i think of a deeper meaning in music. nobody else gets me like he does^^.

  • i wish they would tour, I wanna see them so bad I think it would make my life complete :)

  • I think this song became Codex.

  • @ShazerThe That's the dumbest thing i've ever heard, they are nothing alike, both the chords and lyrics are completely different, the only similarity is they're both on piano.

  • @jirdimaster "no one gets hurt". The first chord on this song (which is basically 1/3 of the song) is used on the bridge of Codex. There are similarities, but that's why I said "I think", you can't take for granted an opinion. Also, I'm not the only one with this hypothesis, I've read some people saying the same.

  • @ShazerThe how in the world did you reach that conclusion?

  • @ShazerThe ?I hope not ;) Cause there would be no change that there will ever be a studio version of this great song. :'(

  • I wish this was on TKOL

  • I want this in an album, please, Radiohead

  • This would sound cool with bossa nova drums and percussion and cool synths! heehee.

  • STUDIO VERSION, PLEASE.

  • Immagine this with those flugelhorns... amazing.

  • his energy is the most comforting I know

  • "no one gets hurt..." sounds a lot like codex..

  • @2ManyMe Maybe this turned into Codex? Interesting..

  • you gotta be kidding,it a radiohead classic.

add some high pitched guitar wailing, a funky low bass beat, synthesizer first note repeat & hold a sprinkle of the old radiohead magic dust & hey presto.

now thats what i call magic.

    do not die Thom.

  • it's a grower

  • Lovely....

  • I think this one would be brilliant as a final song on an album....with a touch of that Nigel magic of course.

  • 'Don't bore us, get to the chorus' I'm sure that's from an interview with Dave Grohl and Kyle Gass.

  • This song is good, but I really can't see it doing any better than a b-side. I don't think its album material.

  • Yeah, I hate it when people talk during a performance constantly, and seriously who needs to talk at a Thom Yorke concert you will be hypnotized by the beautiful music :)

  • He's so grumpy, yet so adorable at the same time.

     /mancrush initiated

  • realy cool lyrics...

  • I still have a secret hope that this becomes a b-side on King of Limbs full release.

  • Comment removed

  • ATTENTION, THIS WILL BE IN RADIOHEAD MISTERY OF THE LIMBS (TKOL 2 if you prefer) along with super collider, present tense, the hollow earth, skirting on the surface and feeling pulled apart by the horses, atoms for peace and a totally new song called "mistery of the four limbs" which sounds killer!!!

  • @coldplayandoasis I can say this is def bullshit, I've been regularly checking for updates on any new possible material.

  • Thom seems to be speaking to the band's detractors: those who can only deal with songs full of catchy hooks or sugar-sweet ballads, and/or those who decry musical experimentation as self-indulgent waffle.

YOU decide whether it's a clever dig/cheap shot or mere coincidence that this song seems to mimic the sound of another successful Brit band, who in turn have often mimicked RH. Ironic form of payback methinks..? ;)

  • @LantaGem "Open the floodgates" is what he's been doing for us for years, and yeah, i agree with you

  • @LantaGem

    right on target. ;-)

  • I'm waiting for a Thom Yorke solo album based entirely around the piano.

  • Travesty this wasn't on TKOL

  • Travesty this wasn't on TKOL

  • Attitude Mr Yorke -.-

  • if you wanna have a chat, fuck off outside, right. cause you won't get back in.

    NICE

  • @YeahiKnowSillyName he really doesnt like the talking! i hate it too

  • @YeahiKnowSillyName I think he said "'course you won't get back in" as in 'of course'

  • @YeahiKnowSillyName "course" you won't get back in ;)

  • Oh, good song! I can totally imagine this with a full Radiohead ensemble going at it. Has to be a lock for the album.

  • Stop arguing everyone! This song is awesome!

  • I'm scard and confused.

have we already heard stripped down versions of all the songs on the album?

or are we still in for a big surprise?

  • @WeAreEternal1223 i have been looking up potential songs for the new album for the past hour and it is making me that much more excited.. Radiohead stuff and Thom Yorke solo stuff. Don't be scared. Its going to be amazing.

  • New album King of Limbs coming out on Saturday! Can't wait to hear it!

  • thom really sounds like neil young in this song. not a bad thing, just pointing it out. he's done lots of neil covers anyhow when he plays solo so not a surprise.

  • You fanatics disgust me. I'm a huge Radiohead fan, and they're my favorite band, but stating that they 'continue to push the musical boundaries beyond what I thought was possible' is just plain old stupid. Yes, they are an innovative band, but you have to see that most of the 'innovative music' you are talking about already existed for decades in the underground and/or cont. classical scene before Radiohead succeeded in introducing it to a mainstream audience (that being their greatest merit).

  • Coldplay ripped off Radiohead's sound. You don't think that the Coldplay homo didn't see Thom Yorke as an influence? Thom continues to push the musical boundaries beyond what I thought was possible.

  • @hamslammer69 Just eat it in, the hypes and discussions of popular intrest for Radiohead fans while you have know idea what they mean. Go find me some evidence, because all I hear is some pretty good music on both artists' parts, Chris Martin and Thom Yorke.

  • Those chords melt my shit.

  • OMFG, what is with this fucking audience. When thom said in the beginning of the video to shut the fuck up cuz he wants a play his piano song on a decent silent way. He talked to all of u. And u still dare to chitchat when he plays such a soothin and calm piano song? Dumb people.

  • I wish every group I saw would tell their audience to shut up and stop with all the inane chattering during their concerts. My love for this man just soared to new heights. Amazing song btw.

  • roboduche fuck horrible comparation. radiohead is radihead only is. coldplay is the good band but radiohead is fantasic.

  • Nope actualy not, radiohead have way more material.

  • Thom is such a cool cat

"If you wanna have a chat go fuck off outside alright?"

    And then everyones silent.

  • @NOSFERATUalu Actually I still hear some dumb bitch squawking in the background. What is wrong with these people?

  • @travroy I've no idea =D Its maddening! They probably want to get attention or make use of the silent situation and get attention that way when its on the internet to be able to say "Look! That was me!" >_>

  • coldplay is good but they're shit compared to any aspect of radiohead

  • Am I the only one on this planet who looooooves Radiohead and Coldplay equaly? they are my favourite bands.

  • @Aleiksandar Both are fucking awesome. I do have to say though that even through Coldplay is damn good art... Radiohead is high art... they are just on another level from other bands. Sigur Ros is another band that makes high art but they just aren't as good as Radiohead.

  • @RowdyPizer I agree with you, Radiohead is of course on higher level, but that doesn't make Coldplay rubbish. I love them equaly, but I know Radiohead is better from artistic point of view.

  • @Aleiksandar Yes, you're alone on that one.

  • @nilsk123 Well, good for me,I get to enjoy twice as much as you :P

  • Such a beautiful song...

  • i actually find that remark funny.... i only really listened to the bends and ok computer when i was about fifteen, and i was hanging out with my buddy, and he threw on hail to the theif... and for some reason i asked him if this was colplay... he felt offened.... i felt like a jackass, lol

  • i'm so f**kin in love with this song! "we want the good bits, without the bullsh*t"

  • Comparing Radiohead to Coldplay is like comparing Shawshank Redemption to Toy Story... but sometimes it's fun to watch Toy Story.

No-one compares to Radiohead, but does that mean we should only listen to one band? Not everyone can be the greatest.

  • Ignorance is bliss. Since when does good taste have to be musical snobbery? Anyone with the slightest knowledge of music should know that Radiohead leaves Coldplay sounding like 12 year olds playing with tinker toys. So stop mentioning the C word when discussing the greatest living band on the planet. It just makes you look silly :)

  • If you want to compare Radiohead to anything, I think it would be a bottle of the best wine money can buy. Drink it now and it's amazing, but somehow it gets better with age.

  • 1 day I'm going to see Radiohead... I have to before I die.

  • @JohnTheFaun It is your duty as a human being.

  • @jameshighmore Yup!

  • @JohnTheFaun you have to

  • @JohnTheFaun i agree, too bad i live nowhere near the uk and i live with my parents, who won't drive me to nyc...plus i don't even know when they're touring again

  • @4mayZing They haven't set any tour dates yet. Thats easy to figure out you just google it. Your lucky you live near to NYC I live in Spokane.

  • that guy got domed !!!lol

  • I'm getting goosebumps.

  • everyone talks about "lotus Flower" and sh*t..... but COME ONE.... this must be the best NEW SONG.....

This song makes me wonder, analyse a situation deeply, it's pure and if a song produces that in me, then it's just more than a song.... i was missing these.... thanks Radiohead once more!

  • @aisfle its not radiohead, its thom yorke

  • @twin99098538

yeah, i know how to read, thank you... but in my opinion this tune connects more with Radiohead than Thom Yorke's solo work (perhaps i'm mistaken and this turns out for a solo LP) but i'm pretty sure this will be in a radiohead one, i can really picture Johnny and Ed putting some smoothe sounds on it.

  • @aisfle I see what your saying... It could be on their album this summer.

  • @aisfle I agree. This would be a sick album opener.

  • @aisfle

    its thom yorke, not radiohead

  • Why do people pay good money to see a band and then talk talk talk through the whole thing?

They can talk all they want on the way home. Thom does have a very good point.

  • TrollMage....you can't be serious. Have you not read any of the comments below? He is not being a prick, he is asking the audience to respect him and the music....shouldn't be too much to ask coming from a man who has sold millions of records and was ranked the 6th most powerful figure in music....lay off the haterade dude.

  • He obviously wasn't being serious, crap is literally spewing out your mouth

  • mad trollin'

  • troll, relax bud. but you do have a point. I love what Thom Yorke brings to the table, in regards to music. But, it wouldnt hurt him to be more like the rest of the band. He does need to chill out. I still found it hilarious though...

  • @TheTrollMage We Absolve you. Now go play world of warcraft.

  • i love that he says 'if you wanna have a chat, fuck off outside. cause you wont get back in.' hahahaha

  • I know it's great isn't it!!! He can do that. He's Thom Fucking Yorke!

  • wow

  • ...i dont know about you guys..but im also into heavy metal..and some local bands around my area have fans (including myself) that sing along with some of their more known songs...personaly with Cryptkicker if it isn't new i sing... its about PASSION..and Americans have it...the last Nine inch nails show i went to (one trents last shows) i sang every song and i wasn't alone.. i have never been to a radiohead show so i cant say anything about that though i wish i could.

  • i got tickets for their april 10th and 11th shows in chicago coming up, and april 10 is my birthday! 2days of thom yorke, not to mention Atoms for Peace, and on my birthday!

  • Hmmmm. I was hoping the temple blocks might come into play. Oh well. Very nice song.

  • don't sing along to songs? we do! maybe not everywhere, but i haven;t been to a show YET where people don't sing along...in america.

  • johnny mate.....u r an idiot

  • Johnny's just saying his opinion, its a free world fucker. Much respect all the same. :)

  • i'm not really feeling these new songs except for lotus flower. they just seem overly strpped back and simple. i like it when radiohead add layers and layers to the songs. this is very coldplayesque, personaly im not into it but the songs may change on the record

  • ah theyre only sketches of songs at the moment.

  • @JohnnyMarr03 uhhh dumbfuck hes playing it solo... im sure the studio versions gonna be this simple

  • People like you give RH fans a bad name. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, especially if they're a fan who simply disagrees with new material. Go fuck off with your childish name calling.

  • i bet thom will add some awesome stuff to the song :P

  • Love the sound, love Thom Can't wait for the new album..STOKED!

  • you guys all bitching bout the crowd joining in with the music. thats what live music is about.

  • I'm an American who worships the fact that Europeans sing along at concerts. Americans never do, and it pisses me off. You must be European, and the ones bitching must be American.

  • you really think ones country determines whether they like "sing alongs" at concerts? hahahahahahahahahahahah

  • Hell yeah! EVERY concert I've gone to in Europe has people singing along, and it NEVER happens in America. American concert goers are SOOOO lame.

  • well.... i'll bring that up and then next meeting : ) haha.

  • And I see you are from Toronto... the best singalong at a concert I've ever been to was in Hamilton, Ontario when I saw Roger Hodgson from Supertramp do a solo show... everyone sang a long brilliantly to "Give a Little Bit". Very moving. You don't get that in America.

  • @mrscry Well people in Canada sure as hell sing along at concerts - I find it extremely hard to believe that Americans don't!

  • Trust me, we don't. I've been to countless shows and have download countless others of bands who I know have crowds sing along in Europe and Canada... Wilco, Radiohead, and Nada Surf are two great examples.

  • I saw Muse in America three years ago at a small club, and nobody even sang along at that show for "Time is Running Out". I mean, come on.

  • @mrscry Really, that's a disgrace!

  • When you watch handycam videos on youtube the singing along seems a lot more noticeable because the cameras rarely have directional mikes and just pick up whatever sounds are closest and loudest. I think one of the coolest things I've ever witnessed was Thom singing Karma Police here in Vancouver and everyone singing along for that last "Myself..." and all of them fading out because no one can hold the note as long as he can. Totally brilliant!

  • @mrscry

I think that, in America, were so obsessed with celebrity that we don't want to interrupt the singer. While, in Europe, it's more about the music... just a theory.

  • No, because it's the same at small venue shows, too... for instance, I saw Nada Surf in Dublin where everyone sang along, and that never happens at their American s hows. Americans simply aren't as passionate about their music.

  • haha, I went to a Green Day concert and Billie Joe Armstrong yelled at us for not singing along.

  • its a concert....you are suppose to LISTEN to the band, not some drunk dude sing off tune beside you

  • I agree, we pay to hear the band and not the audience... and non-Americans do listen, in general, but when it comes to a couple favorite songs they naturally sing along, and it's not annoying ilke when American girls sing along horribly at a show. Singing along here and there shows passion, which Americans don't have.

  • @mrscry I'm not American. But thats being extremely racist saying that Americans don't have passion ;) I think it has nothing at all to do with the nationality. Just with how the individual has been raised.

  • Splendid!

  • i like that song.

  • forget it. across the pond its not unusual to just come right out and read somebody the riot act. Where do you think Simon C or any other famous blokes got their famous potty mouths? Here in the US we just turn up the volume on the amp.

  • 0:50 nice blackberry xD!

  • why is it everytime i see radiohead/just thom live he's always telling someone in the audience to f off?!

  • cuz that's our boy, Thom. It wouldn't be a complete performance without him heckling the audience!

But seriously, how fucking annoying that people a talking while he's starting to play. Just rude, imo.

Pretty song "don't bore us, just get to the chorus"

  • Agreed w vintage , cant stand when a crowd clps to a song because it usually goes off beat and when some drunk grl is standing behind me screaming the words in my ear . We came to listen to the band , not for you to prove you are a fan or that "this is your song" because you know the words .

  • Anyone that compares Radiohead to Coldplay obviously has no knowledge of music or music theory. Not to mention horrible taste. Radiohead's music is so much more talented and substantial that comparing the two is laughable.

  • Blah blah blah. If people like coldplay let em like coldplay. Don't be a fucking wanker.

  • haha honestly...

  • @RoboDouche Blah, if people want to be wankers, let them be wankers.

  • @RoboDouche thats bs, I dont even consider it an opinion if people compare the two bands, Radiohead is leagues and leagues better, the issue isnt people who like coldplay its people who come on these videos and compare the two.

  • @justinorville Music snobbery is the most infantile and embarrassing thing in the world. Simply put, if you're concerned with which band is better than such and such after the time you finish high school then you need to get a life.

  • @RoboDouche I'm not saying that people aren't entitiled to opinions, I believe highly in that. But if your concerned with snobbery, tell that to the people coming on Radiohead videos and boasting about Coldplay, keep it to the damn coldplay videos because frankly, no one here gives a shit about them.

  • @RoboDouche yeh i totally agree, coldplay are awesome and so are radiohead

  • @wburgboy75 Enlighten us with your deep knowledge of music theory, then.

  • @wburgboy75 I like both. But you are right. Comparing them is ridiculous!

  • @wburgboy75 Is exactly right. cold play themselves would admit as much. I'm pretty sure Chris Martin already has

  • @wburgboy75

a lot of coldplay sounds like mid-90s radiohead

  • @wburgboy75

Isn't that what you just did, you idiot? People are so retarded these days.

  • @wburgboy75 what does that have to do with music theory? Honestly, if they like coldplay just let them be, and let's just enjoy what we have here.

  • @wburgboy75 Yeah, you obviously know a lot about music theory. I'm no Coldplay fan, but I'm excited to hear about the theoretical differences here, since there aren't any. While it is true that there's a difference in the soundscape, the theory and structure of the music is completely the same. Anyone who says otherwise and claims to base that on music theory, are show-offs who know nothing about music theory.

  • @rallestar1 Radiohead has been a groundbreaking experimental band since the mid nineties and coldplay has a much more mainstream soft rock sound not at all influenced by club music the way radiohead is. Don't advertise how stupid you are. Like whatever you want, and please spend your time enjoying music rather than drawing meaningless false parallels that waste everyone's time and energy. Radiohead is too good for you assholes trying to discuss it like you know anything. Try enjoying it

  • Also, anyone who can't see obvious similarities between Radiohead and Coldplay are closing their eyes, doesn't have to mean the one band is better to or as good as the other.

  • really, there's no way you can make coldplay look better than radiohead in any sense at all.

i respect Coldplay's music, i like it, but you clearly see the difference between one band and another.

i mean... has Radiohead been sued because of Creep? or more recently, by 15 Step or House of Cards?

and then you see Coldplay..., there has been at least 2 or 3 guys who are trying to sue them for Viva la Vida! (arguably their best song, musically and economically speaking)

  • What's incredible to me is how the theme of the lyrics hauntingly coincides with the situation. My personal interpretation of the song is a very sad commentary on American culture's constant desire for instant gratification. It's just funny to hear people utilize their ADD to it's fullest extent while he plays the song... if I was Thom I'd just say "Thanks for proving my point!" Haha.

  • Thom saying what he did, shows just how much music means to him. That's real passion. Most other artists would be scared of losing their fans... not Thom - To him all that matters is the music. That's the way way it should be.

  • Exactly.

  • Comment removed

  • Whenever they've played Seattle they've been nothing but respectful. They even dedicated a song to WTO protesters.

Can you not imagine after playing countless stadiums to finally do a small show at a club and some drunk fuckers are talker over intimate songs!?!

He's playing the show for the fans, and if you're talking the whole way through the song you're obviously only there to say that you were...

  • I saw them in Vancouver, and the only time the band (or Thom rather) got angry at someone in the crowd was during Faust Arp. During that quiet and emotional song, some guy yelled "LET IT RAIN!" over and over again. Finally Thom told him to "shut the fuck up, you think you're funny, you just don't get out much" without missing a beat. It was quite great actually. Other than that they seemed quite humble. Maybe they like Canadians haha

  • heartbreaking and amazing on so many levels

  • "if you wanna have a chat, fuck off outside... cause you wont get back in." what the fuck, why are people even talking through this performance, why the fudge would u wanna be at this gig anyway? even if u dont like the music, its still a matter of respect towards thom yorke to be quiet... if i ever get the change to see thom yorke or radiohead, and people are screaming and talking all the time, i would throw a fucking nuke on the whole audience....

  • where you gonna get that nuke from hajj?

  • this is like the third new Radiohead song I've seen tonight and they've all been excellent. someone was on a roll :)

  • love this! thanks

  • I cried the day after i went to this concert and listened to it on youtube

  • oh i understand you, i cried all the day after i saw radiohead for the first time. Thom Yorke is a magician.

  • I don't understand how people can continue talking after THOM YORKE says fuck off outside..

  • FINALLY a musican tells a small venue to stop talking... I wish more bands would show self respect like that... Low pissed me off when they smiled through the chattiest crowd I've ever been around.

  • Comment removed

  • i know. i wouldnt be talking anyway. id be in a trance lol.

  • Hopefully Radiohead takes this song to the studio, because they will perfect it for sure, but already its amazing

  • Reminds me a lot of Neil young. Not coldplay...

  • thats true. i hate how as soon as thom starts playing a piano people relate it to coldplay. coldplays not the first fucking band to play a piano!
