I personally know the pilot. This was not staged. They were doing a video of their flight to an airshow the next town over. He was flying a friends plane It was a great landing in an emergency situation. Every pilot hopes if they have to land suddenly they can do this well. As for parking it the responsible thing to do is get the plane off the road to avoid snarling up traffic and causing accidents.

Good job!!  What was the cause of the engine failure. Sounded like a mixture problem. I heard the RPM go up and then the engine quit. That usually means too lean. Just remeber to burn up that air speed by abruptly pulling up to gain altitude. Push over at best glide speed. I realize this was not a cessna but just an observation. Good job again!!!

No one driving on a road expects a low flying plane to land on the ground. I see Cessnas flying between 100 and 200 feet all the time, tires barely above the powerlines. I just assume they're asshole pilots not crashing.

And no, because every other accident isn't so picture perfect like it was set up, they're catastrophic and blow to bits killing hundreds etc.

Regardless I'm very sure that you cant come in at that steep of an angle and not break a wheel.
