have you managed to solve this at all? Im getting EXACTLY the same problem, except i don't even get the update screen or log in screen, it goes straight to that final fatal error screen that youve got here. SO frustrating. I (like you have too i suppose) have updated every driver, got rid of old ones, updated software, uninstalled, reinstalled, repaired, bla bla bla
