@avengefullgirl95 Well, what you see here is a computer program that simulates the old system of Mario Paint. But the program is used JUST for the composition portion of the game. Just go to unfungames and you'll find it. It's called Mario Paint Composer.

@GeminiBreaker I'm not HCBailly, but I've also composed some songs with MPC and it all depends on the song as well as how you are willing to make it sound. It can take a while with all of the separate instrument arrangements. When I get down and serious about a song it can take me more than a few hours, or even months (because I easily get frustrated and abandon a project and then come back to it later on with a quieter piece of mind).

As far as game soundtracks go, I have to go with Legend of Mana. Chrono Trigger kicks copious amounts of ass, yes, and oh God do I miss playing it, but Legend of Mana has the epic background art and fights to match its music. Thank you, Yoko Shimomura!

I wasnt entirely happy with this one, but it turned out okay. There was a lot of base and background drums that were missed, but as the orchestrated version also missed them I suppose its easy to skim over. Lots was missing but its certainly Time Scar. Hopefully you can revisit this later. Very good though.

No, I can see easy ways you can improve, by relocating baseline in certain areas where its more previlant in the forefront and sacraficing that back-beat to bring it to the front. I just think you went off the sheet music and took your ear out of this one. There is a lot you missed.

Various websites. You can easily find them on google. However, that only helps identify the main melody and harmony. For the rest of the subharmonies, you'll need a good midi and a notation software to convert it into sheet music. That is, if you want to be as accurate as my work is.

Almost 4 hours for this one. That's a long time for me. I can usually compose most songs in MPC within 2 hours, but this one was longer than most.

If you know how to read sheet music, it's not very hard. What makes it so hard for most people is they try to do it by ear. One of these days, I'll probably do a tutorial for YouTube on composing songs with MPC.
