AMAZING GIFT FROM GOD. THE BIBLE SAYS THAT WE ARE FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE.

  • Que horror! Puro machetazo jaja

  • Amazing!! Perfect!! wordless..

  • Eu adoro a maior violinista do Mundo....Sarah Chang....até sue nome é lindooooo....

    I love Star Sarah

  • Certified Intergalactic! I vote to name a star after Sarah Chang, to be called the Chang Star.

  • I love the way she plays this, and I think it is absolutely brilliant, but I do think that if it was little slower it could be little neater.

  • Pure genius! Thank you for sharing! :D

  • Holy Fuck! That was magnificent.

  • I think this is beautiful and exite performance!

I like her performance very much.

  • AHAHA 3:40 she's like 'take this bitches'

  • DANG!

  • Made me tear up :''(

  • Aunque la chica es una monada, creo que toca con demasiada agresividad.

  • WOW she moves so fast

  • Bravo!!

  • Sarah Chang!!!!! te quiero tu tocas el violin desde niña de forma increible !

  • Impresionante Sarah Chang !!!!! tremendo sonido fuerza y tecnica de las mejores versiones!

  • My favorite part is where she smiles at the end. I wish more great artists had that joy after finishing such a marvelous piece.

  • Beautifull Performance!!

  • Brava!!!!

  • Is this vid speed up or it's just the normal speed when she perform???

  • @alexLe2507 Well, does the rest of the video look "speed up"? There's a reason she's the lead violinist here, ya know.

  • LOVE THIS PERFORMANCE. She is very dominant....

  • Savage and wonderful. Have never seen or heard better. I'm an old guy and thankful I

have lived long enough for this. Thank you Sarah!

  • bravo

  • 파워풀한 곡은 역시 장영주..ㅎ

  • If you just listen to the music it sounds wonderful. : )

  • terrible

  • how could anyone dislike this? she sounds amazing! i wish i could play half as well as this!!! asian power ;-p

  • too choppy. prefer other masters for this piece.

  • @soparu I disagree. Certain measures include staccato notes(short and separate). And her technique is very aggressive with this movement, that's why it sounds "choppy". I think this is the way Max Bruch intended it to sound.

  • @zucchini2007

Your comment is spot on, to me Sarah Chang Rules when it comes to playing the Bruch violin concerto. Seen her live many times, she is a wonderful violinist.

  • @no1knowledge In my mind, she's one of the greatest violinists ever! Because she doesn't just play the notes perfectly, she captures the personality of each piece she plays! I would be thrilled to meet her in person! I've played through the 1st 2 movements of this concerto myself, and it's very difficult. I hope that I can become HALF the violinist that she is! You rock, Sarah Chang!

  • @zucchini2007

I have met her twice, after her performances Sarah always meets the public for a chat and to sign autograph's etc. After meeting her, I get the feeling that she has been very isolated from real life by the fact that since a young age she has been travelling round the world doing non stop concerts. Eg once on her twitter she said that she was all excited because she had driven her car on her own and managed to fill it up with petrol at the filling station !!

  • @zucchini2007

It must be very hard to be a child progidy with your life just entirely revolving around trying to achieve your aims at being a violin Virtuosa. With the non stop training and concerts it gives very little time to learn about the other things, eg personal relationships, even cooking etc, that we all need to learn in life.

  • @Scotelgas Well, if this is her true passion in life, then it's definitely worth it! I want to play the violin like this! I still have a long way to go...this is a very difficult piece to play.

  • @soparu Its beautiful... why make such a poor comment, some of us are enchanted by her passion... if you aren't then go somewhere else.

  • @AngeloAstarte hence, i said i prefer others for the 3rd mvmt. I have a right to my opinion. I prefer her passion in other pieces, just not this one.

  • @AngeloAstarte

I saw Sarah play the Bruch Violin Concerto live in london, april last year and it was a sensational performance that bought the house down. You will always get youtube 'EXPERTS' who think they know better how to play music than a Virtuosa Violinist like Sarah Chang. I agree with @zucchin(2007 , I think that this is the way that Max Bruch would have indeed wanted it to be played...............Bravo Sarah Chang !!

  • 3:40 Tounge sticking out as if to say "What now?! Try me!" Ahahahahah

  • this whole thing is worth it to see her face at the last chord!!

  • Well then, she is the most sonorous, wonderfully articulate lumberjack out there. I just love Sarah Chang, she is informed by Heifetz it would appear. Her attack is unexpected and welcome.

  • it's my dream to meet her one day

  • DAMN. Randomly came across this--awesome!

  • Miss Sarah, great performance as usual.

  • Amazing! Very powerful and passionate music and absolutely perfect playing!

  • Does anyone know when this performance was? :D

  • I had the pleasure to see her live, playing Sibelius in Brasil, she's so amazing!!! I fall in love when I see her performing these works! Great!!!!

  • MEU DEUS.......SEM PALAVRAS..

  • Where some people see emotion I see a lumberjack out in the forest chop chop chopping on Bruch

  • @HoboSuperstar

A Julliard Grad, winner of the Chigiana Musical Academy Prize (Also won by Anne-Sophie Mutter, Maxim Vengerov, and Hillary Hahn whom at least two out of three are in possession of a Stradivari.), and a seat dedicated to her at Sprague Hall.

But she's a lumberjack butchering a beautiful piece of music according to a random troll on youtube.

Shut the fuck up or watch another video, or better yet lets see you do better.

  • Amusing first 5 seconds....back woman...get BACK !! lol.

  • Just pure Emotion,Inovation,Euphoria and powrfull Interpretation and unknown Dimention of happynes and at the same Time some kind of sweet sadness in this Magic invisible Musik Dimention, invisible for our Eyes, but not for our Heart and Soul,Thanks for Uploading this wonderful and amaaaaaaaaaasing Video.

  • How does one person get so much emotion out of four taught strings. This is just so amazing.

  • I am shore, that this unbleavable and extraordinary wonderfull Definition and expressing her deepest Inspiration and personality for musik as a form like this beatifull Violin Concert from Max Bruch, will be a legend and unforgetable Interpretatin of this Concert for ever and ever,Thanks Sarah for Your cosmological Imagination.i love you as you are in my Heart.

  • PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME WHO THE CONDUCTOR IS?!

  • 2:14 !!!!!!

  • She is simply amazing!!!

  • I have an Eargasm throughout this wohle song! <3

  • Talent, Artistry, technics and boy, tell me about attitude!!!

  • who's the conductor please

  • パフォーマンスが凄すぎ(^_^;)。ここまで派手にやられたら何も言い様が無い(((゜゜;)

  • I am enjoying the artistry of this lady very much and in my mind am remembering the first time I saw Midori perform on the Johnny Carson show. I was totally wowed by such a talented young girl but now with Sarah Chang I really relate to her interpretation. Not being a violinist myself I can't speak to the technical aspects of it, but the passion is there and I am anxious to hear what else she will play.

  • I just noticed she played so hard the strap of her dress slipped down o.o great performance though! i love Sarah Chang

  • @missishijah15

Same thing happened at her performance of bruch violin concerto in london when I saw her in april this year.

Wow she was just out of this world. Night never to be forgotten nowbody plays as well as Sarah and I love her to bits as well . Go see her play live if you get a chance and meet her after for a chat and get her autograph !! Love it as she dances to the music as she sways, plays and stamps her little feet as she gets so emotional with the music, great performer !!

  • @missishijah15

Watch her video of Bach-Air on a G string , what a treat , music of the gods !!

  • But she IS in top 10 violinsts. It is not me saying. You can research yourself bro :)

  • For people who admire Sarah Chang , i have only one comment to say , if she is really incredible , so why she is the only Violinist who has all this arguments about her. Let's face it , she is a good violinist , but not from the 10 best alive violinist

check Perlmant , Anne Sophie mutter , zukerman , Hilary Han , kremer , Gil shaham , Maxim vengerov " who i don't really admire , but he is better than Sarah " and before you reply just check Joshua bell in this concerto .

  • @fastmoshen First: She is still young. Second: A couple of people continuously changes his nickname, and posts negative things about her over and over( I concluded they are racists, otherwise there's no reason for such ferocious berating). Third: She is kinda unorthodox, in the way she sways too much, or she sometimes igonores "normal" rythem or flows.

  • @fastmoshen Did you just ignore this entire video?? All those people arguing about her are just haters. Because they know they will never be THIS talented, and so they want to bring gifted musicians like Sarah Chang down to their level with their stupid, unfounded comments. I've seen the sheet music of this concerto myself. She plays it flawlessly! In my estimation, she is much better than Bell and Hahn. Hahn's playing is robotic, there's NO emotion there! And Bell over-dramatizes everything.

  • @zucchini2007

Have you ever seen Sarah play live ? She is so amazing and like you she is my favourite violinist. I try to get to see her everytime she plays in Uk,

  • @no1knowledge No, but I would love to! Does she play here in the US? Please let me know how/where I can get the tickets to go see her. Thank you.

  • @zucchini2007

Well Sarah is American and plays quite a lot of concerts in usa, so it depends on where you live in usa and as to where she is performing. I will have a look to see where you can get her list of engagements.

  • @no1knowledge she is not AMERICAN she is Korean american, remember american con consider not even black ppl who have been living there as long as white themselves as americans, they are called AFRICAN AMERICANS, hahahahaha right now she is in Russia :D

  • @BlueMoonLightDreams

If you wish to be trivial and pedantic then why not say that the only people who can be called American are the original inhabitants eg the red Indians !! America is a country whose many people ( red Indians apart ) have their roots in countries from all over the world, not just white people !! Sarah was born in December 10th 1980 in Philadelphia , USA. her parents moved to USA in 1979 from South Korea. Sarah has never lived in South Korea, so is all intent American.

  • @no1knowledge well there is something i did not know haha\ i am\ big fan of sarah my dear pest. she said in an interview she feels very closely connected to her roots, meaning she might be born here but her heart is korea, like me, i was born in 81, by the way, i know a lot about her too, so no need to tell me about her. i was born in queens NYC, i dont know where u live but anyway, i consider myself "american" (my god so pathetic) until i become interested in history.

  • @no1knowledge thats when i become citizen of my true country Ecuador where i currently live, american are like the world see them, ignorant, stupid, self centered, and very racist still...the only thing america is good for is to make money, and then build a business else where. american ppl very few are actually humane, the rest are nothing but empty skulls...and its no wonder.

  • @fastmoshen

You, a novice violinist are posting very negative comments about Sarah Chang who is a Violin virtuoso.

Perhaps you would be better spending your time trying to get better yourself. If you get to be 10% as good as Sarah Chang then it will be a great improvement on your current status.

  • @fastmoshen

I go to see many concerts and many violinist's, but for me Sarah is the best I have seen live and she plays the Bruch Violin Concerto just brilliantly, I know as I saw her playing it live in London in april, fantastic night , the audience just loved her performance .

  • @fastmoshen You are very right, I believed Perlmant is the best over all alive at this time

  • @LKLKILY

Perlmant ? who the hell is that , you write silly comments with incorrect spelling !!

  • @fastmoshen

Oh PERLMANT is great ? Hilary HAN etc you are comments so stupid that you cant even spell these great artist's names properly !!

  • I think in this video she plays at the right time. The most of the time she do it faster and I don't like.

  • @paulyps No, her tempo is correct. It SOUNDS faster due to the juxtaposition of her aggressive technique on top of the orchestra's relaxed sound.

  • I think I'm falling in love with her. What a beautiful, GIFTED woman she is!

  • I think this is the musical equivalent of taking a few cups of coffee in the morning! I believe Bruch intended this movement to sound like a sudden, invigorating burst of energy. And with her aggressive technique, that's exactly what it sounds like! I'm teaching myself to play this piece, but it's very hard. She makes it look so easy but it's not.

  • just look at the smile at the end. beautiful

  • I love her.

  • Gods, what vitality! She is a untamable beast. Her emotion is straightforward and penetrating. Some people afraid of that kind of honesty.

  • I notice you have posted a video of yourself, you play nicely so congratulations for your efforts. At the end of the day music is an entertainment and times and fashions move on. Classical music has to appeal to a modern audience and without young people coming to watch concerts and buy the recordings it will die . It is no good to be forever harking back to old black and white films and recordings of people long dead. Andre Rieu may not be your taste or mine but he appeals to modern audiences.

  • this was just gorgeous! there were some parts the orchestra didn't meet her >.< but in the end her smiled killed me

  • It's so sloppy!

  • @Violinheaddd

Sarah Chang is a virtuoso violinist and you are not . After watching your own mediocre version of the Bruch Violin concerto on youtube I dont know how you have the nerve to be critical of her performance !!

It is like another of her critics on youtube who himself was kicked out of a major American Orchestra for not being up to scratch and now spends his time playing to minor audiences.

  • Es lo más cercano a la perfección que se puede llegar, nunca en mi vida vi algo igual...se me pone la piel de gallina al escuchar esto.

  • @martinstoss that wasn't me, but she's scratch on some of her cd's also...i like the scratcheness when she goes high. it usually happens when she plays quick but i think it's on purpose... i mean how can someone who through their life and hae no one comment on her scratchy-ness?

  • When people comment negatively about Sarah Chang, I just can't understand what it is they want from this incredible, crazy, manic music. Do they think that only really restrained playing is correct? This is pop music! It just happens to be old pop music. It's supposed to be exciting and explosive. The way Chang laughs and dances and makes the music explode is how it's meant to be. You can tell that she really gets it.

  • she s scracthing the violin like hell, ugly sound ughh...but a phenomenon when she was a kid

  • @milstein91 her scratching was not ugly her emotions, passion appear through well so it s never boring unlike other violinist's playging im pretty sure you dont know about violininsts persinaliity on the stage

you just wanna hear plain normal formed playing thats your boring tastes dont be rude

  • @LogosRuleFul no i want to hear personality with no scratch ugly sound.

  • @milstein91 you shouid read marinstoss's comments you really think that sound is U,G,L.Y?

ha.. i really dont know what to say

  • @LogosRuleFul well if it s beautiful for you good for you enjoy it

  • @milstein91 in some ways it is the acoutsics and the video quality - its better if you hear her Bruch/Brahms concerto CD!

  • @milstein91

If you want to listen to an unemotional, boring, stiff necked, straightlaced and technically correct version by a man in a suit then perhaps listen to someone like Jascha Heifetz . If you want to listen to an exciting explosive version full of emotion and soul then you listen to Sarah Chang. As someone else says here, Sarah Rocks and is a Bad-Ass on the Violin and makes this crazy music come to life !!

  • @cherrytime22 i think you have absolutly no clue of what is music, you re saying that one of the most exciting and wonderful musicians and not onnly violinist ever(jascha heifetz) is boring so i will not even discuss with you ,continue listening britney spears and sarah chang

  • Comment removed

  • @milstein91

I am in my 60s, Britney Spears ? I shall leave that to 'Kids ' like yourself ! Even in his own time Heifetz was regarded by many critics as cold and unemotional in his playing and general performance. We are now many years removed from his time and classical music is fighting for its life to survive and struggling for audiences, so try to avoid knocking fresh and exciting new talent like Miss Chang, she gives much joy and people actually pay to go and see her worldwide.

  • @cherrytime22 yes critics said that...so if critics say something it s a fact already? And people also pay to see musical garbish like andre rieu.Heifetz may looked cold and yes he looked cold but he played so warm and beautifuly if you can t hear that in your mid 60's i'm sad for you.

  • @milstein91 You can't just tell someone they have no clue of what music is just because they like this other violinist and hate the violinist you like.I believe Heifetz is wonderful technically but slightly cold on the musicality.A lot of people agree,Yet even though a lot of people like Heifetz.Just as much love Sarah Chang.I just want to ask,WHY do you think she has an ugly sound? She has a very powerful and intense sound that reminds me a lot of Isaac Stern(who BTW helped train her as a child)

  • @JPLGaGa123

Sarah Changs LIVE performances are so vibrant and wonderful, eg saw her in april playing this at the royal festival hall in london. The audience went mad at the end so many encores etc. The people all round me were aghast and saying they had never heard anyone perform like this. Sarah Chang is an amazing Violinist full stop !! Too many youtubers who try to knock her down are hooked on the nostalgia of old faded black and white movies of Heifetz , dated records and mythology.

  • @cherrytime22 I completely agree with you. Jascha Heifetz has great technicality but it doesnt sound like he has much emotion and his version is always faster than others that i listen to. When i listen to a slightly slower, more controlled version, and then i listen to him, it sounds like he's rushing through the song, as if to show off how fast he can play or just to be done with the song.

  • listening to this makes my nipples hard

  • 7:04 amaizing!! es ensamble de todas las cuerdas es fantatico

  • Critics eat your hearts out !! I saw Sarah playing this at the southbank in april this year, the audience went crazy at the end, what a performance by the unbelievable little lady !!

  • SHE ROCKS!! I have the sheet music for this concerto, I've learned how to play and memorized the 1st 2 movements. But this one I find to be very challenging, because there are double stops and sudden position shifts all over the place. She makes it look so easy, but it really is not. She's such a beautiful woman, and she plays it so skillfully and effortlessly. I like how she's showing some skin but not too much...she looks sexy but in an elegant, classy way. I want to play like this very soon!

  • Astounding, amazing but maybe just a little too dramatic at times?

  • @taupo19 hahaha it might seem dramatic, but its actually painful, because i can not loose tone have to keep those fingers steady but moving in the same place so it creates soft of romanticism, ever try to keep a rhym where moving of ur hands have to be fast but steady on same place for a nonstop time? (and i am not talking about masturbation haha)to create a tone that is consistent? hurts right?

  • I love the way Sara plays this movement, perhaps more aggressive than others but I like it this way. In fact when I saw her play this live last week she 'danced' as she played and in this movement got so carried away with the music that she bought her foot down with a loud and aggressive 'Crack' at one point. Sarah's my favourite Violinist, I love the emotion that she shows and she also has her own interpretation of the music that she is playing, along of course with an enormous amount of skill

  • i love how she can get away with playing like really "bad". not bad like shes not playing the notes perfectly, because she is, but what i mean is she sometimes plays things in a totally different way than any one else would. they would say its too harsh or something, but she can pull it off.

    love her

  • @hodgrix I agree! It isn't that it sounds bad, it's that she puts so much emotion into her playing! I like her style of playing because of it's overwhelming power and it is something that I always want to hear again.

  • @bdaniel2008

Yes agree with you on that point, Sarah is my favourite. Some make this sound quite tame, but Sarah produces a real aggression into this movement which sounds so much better than others who play it , she got really carried away when I watched her play it last week and gave it everything she had, a wonderful performance ,never to be forgotten .

  • @hodgrix I agree with you, but I think it sounds like she is sawing her violin in half! But I guess her unrefined playing is fitting in this gypsy concerto : )

  • @hodgrix Yup, she's a bad-ass on the violin! This movement is so difficult, but she makes it look so easy.

  • @hodgrix It's because she's bored lol

  • @hodgrix i mean it's romantic music... it's meant to be played much rougher than baroque or classical...

  • Lol, she's pissed at 3:40

  • Really, beautiful. Sarah Chang plays this concerto wunderfull <3

  • This is beautiful...

  • SARAH CHANG!!!! I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO VE YOUUUUUUUUUU MARRY MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow...amazing!

  • How old was she ..??

  • @foxmon1234 she is 31 now, and she is my lovely wife :)

  • How old she was..??

  • I am a Sarah Chang fan!!!!! she has this wonderful style that i wish one day i can have. Everyhitng she plays has her own style to it and it is amazing. Although i do love other violin virtuosos like Perlman, Heifetz, Bell, and Midori; i have to say that sarah is the one that mostly tugs at my heart :)

  • Die Frau ist der absolute Wahnsinn, ich liebe sie

  • Amazing. Great playing and great tone too. I will see Sarah in Vancouver. Can't wait. It will be a great show at The Orpheum with The VSO.

  • From 5:00 to 5:20, it looks like she is trying very hard to not fall?

  • Who started that "flicking the bow" thing like at 3:40? It seems a "girlie" thing. Kyung Wha Chung does it also, Was it Anne Sophie Mutter that started the trend? t don't think any men do it.

By the way, Martin, to say she is the greatest violinist since Paganini is an interesting statement. She is very much in the 2000s style, and styles do change. Violinists in the 1950s were much more crisp - you could hear every note. The style now is flamboyant to my mind.

  • This is my wake me up in the morning song.

  • @1986ASura

NIce ! I'll do that too. Thank you for your idea !

  • I LOVE HER SOUNDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD PASSION WRITTEN ALL OVER THE PLACE, If I was a violin, I'd like to be played by Sarah Chang!

  • Sarah Chang is a genius and the greatest violinist since Paganini although we only know of his playing from hearsay.

This concerto is probably the most frequently played in the repertoire but nobody has ever played it like this and most probably never will. Quite simply, the definitive performance with an orchestra to match the Berlin Philharmonic and truly great conducting.

  • Sarah's bruch concerto is my favorite !!

She really has a way of expressing the piece overall attractively ~

    2nd movement is absolutely beautiful,

3rd is rough but majestic, and the part of monophony is absolutely gorgeous ~

    bravo

  • @yurietyler

No one but no one can equal Sarah in playing this Bruch Concerto. My god when I saw her playing it live last week it was a staggering performance and all around me everyone could not believe the wonderful and perfect way she played this. She showed so much emotion and played every movement perfectly, some just play but Sarah lives the music as she plays it with all of her heart and soul !!

  • Comment removed

  • HUGEEEEEEEEE SOUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Harcare baby! Love it!
