It depends on what kind you want. You can go the cheap route and buy a piece of fabric at the fabric store. Another cheap way would be to buy a plastic green screen, which you can find on ebay for under $10. If you want to spend more money, I'd recommend buying a muslin. Those can cost anywhere between $40 to hundreds. Check out tubetape(dot)com.
I'm not really sure, considering green screens aren't really in high demand for the typical consumer. You might want to see if there is any kind of video and photography store in your area. They might sell them.
There's not much you can do about the wrinkles in these cheap plastic green screens. If you have the correct amount of lighting, it wont matter if there's wrinkles.
Alright! Jason upgrades! Greenscreen is tricky isn't it? Lights is what I really need as well. I bought one 500 watt work light a while back and it wasn't nearly enough. I'm going to save and hopefully get a lighting kit so that I can really work with greenscreen. Currently I have tons of trouble when it's time to key out the green.
Yep! It's time to try something different! Yeah, it's tricky. You should have seen my very first attempt! The green looked brownish! I didn't have nearly enough light. I got two 500 watt halogen work lights from Lowes for $10 each, and they seem to work really well. Now I just need a light to shine on myself. I'm thinking about trying to find some kind of light that I can clip onto my tripod. And I'm also hoping to use the green screen in the collab in some way. :-)
Looks like the effect is working nicely. After our brief discussion about you getting version 11 of Pinnacle, I checked to see what my copy of version 9 had... and apparently I CAN do chroma key after all. Guess the next step will be to get a green screen at some point.
Cool! If you don't want to pay much for a green screen, I would recommend getting one from the person I got mine from. The link is in the description on the video I responded to. The package comes with both a green and blue screen. They're cheap plastic ones, but they'll get the job done. They're only $8 plus shipping.:-)

There should be some free software out there somewhere, but it might not be as good.

Lights are hard to figure. I have found that out myself. I want to try green screen too. But don't really know much about it.
What editing software are you using?
All in all I think you did a great job!
wildwyckedknight 3 years ago
Yes, you need a lot of lighting. I use Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 11.
Thanks!
LuckyStrike502 3 years ago
Hey - not bad at all. How did you manage to not look "fuzzy" around the edges? I always have that problem.
MyRealityBytes 3 years ago
Thanks. It might be caused by your shadow. Make sure you're standing a few feet in front of the green screen also. That helps a lot.
LuckyStrike502 3 years ago
Looks pretty good, with a key light on you a fill on the green screen and a clip adjustment you'll be good to go!

Thanks! I'm a noob at this, but I'm sure I'll get better! :-)
