The UN came out today and said only 37% of the money sent to Haiti has been accounted for. This is the reason i didn't send my money over there because someone or some people are ripping these people off.

it was on the news. they interviewed the head of the Red Cross. The red Cross only gave about $100 mill out of the $300 mill they received. They did the same during Katrina, the Tsunami, and others. The guy said they give what they deem the problem warrents. the rest of the money is saved for future aid and other problems. The Cross is trustworthy the money I am sure will be used to help people in need.

With the money, aid workers buy those supplies from local countries, but when WE send them for "free" it cost MORE to ship items than it does to buy them locally. I see both sides. Donations sent to the White House might be a welcome idea to those who need to send it someplace they feel they can trust. But their names & addresses will go into yet another database. The Rush and his caller imply the Red Corss is a suitable charity. So, this presentor is wrong in claming conservatives want to help no one. I have viewed 2 studies showing that conservatives give far more to charities than liberals. it was on the news. they interviewed the head of the Red Cross. The red Cross only gave about $100 mill out of the $300 mill they received. They did the same during Katrina, the Tsunami, and others. The guy said they give what they deem the problem warrents. the rest of the money is saved for future aid and other problems. The Cross is trustworthy the money I am sure will be used to help people in need.

I cant see why informing you of that would be a problem especially since you seem to go on a tangent informing me about ppl i dont even know. I only produced information that has come from aid workers, who are ppl, unlike ourselves, who are actually THERE at the disaster site investing their time in helping victims. That sounds a whole lot better than having a millions of blankets, clothes, etc pilled up blocking the ports from more important shippment. BECAUSE, the blankets, the food, and the water we send over there almost never gets used! With the money, aid workers buy those supplies from local countries, but when WE send them for "free" it cost MORE to ship items than it does to buy them locally. And all of the good medical aid and qualified medicine cant get shipped into Haiti, because of all the blankets, and food and water( which half the time is expired) we send cloggs up the shipping docks! Aid workers always warn us!
