The CW does not hate black people, get over yourself their have been atleast 3 black characters in the vampire diaries. The Vampire diaries books were written many years before the twilight books and their much more better to read. Twilight the first one was good the rest of them were crap. no the twilight book was realeased in 2005 so she started writing it way before then, plus she said she got the idea for twilight after she had a drem about it....the whole clearing scene in the book/movie was pretty much her dream

When I found out VD was a book series (L.J. Smith), I read them. I'm interested to see how the CW interprets the series, but I'm also afraid. I don't want them to ruin a good thing...the books are pretty good; entertaining. As to the casting, I think the CW chose excellently. Looks aren't as important as capturing the character of the person. I think Stefan, Damon, & Elena were casted correctly, based on work I've seen by the chosen actors. Good luck CW. PLEASE try to stay true to the books!

Well, me for example, I love vampire books but i rarely get through with one book so a total series is out of the question. On the other hand, I actually read the Twilight books, because even though they're similar there not exactly the same. I started reading the Vampire Diaries but Ehlena seemed really shallow to me (just the way she expected Stephen to automatically adore her "beauty"). Plus, I identify more with Bella, because she's like moving to a new school & I've been through that a lot.

Actually the person who is playing Bonnie is also a brunette... The people who play both Elena and Bonnie are very different then what the book discribes.. Damn shame :( owh well i'm gonna watch it anyway :) hope it's good

When I found out VD was a book series (L.J. Smith), I read them. I'm interested to see how the CW interprets the series, but I'm also afraid. I don't want them to ruin a good thing...the books are pretty good; entertaining. As to the casting, I think the CW chose excellently. Looks aren't as important as capturing the character of the person. I think Stefan, Damon, & Elena were casted correctly, based on work I've seen by the chosen actors. Good luck CW. PLEASE try to stay true to the books!

Well, me for example, I love vampire books but i rarely get through with one book so a total series is out of the question. On the other hand, I actually read the Twilight books, because even though they're similar there not exactly the same. I started reading the Vampire Diaries but Ehlena seemed really shallow to me (just the way she expected Stephen to automatically adore her "beauty"). Plus, I identify more with Bella, because she's like moving to a new school & I've been through that a lot.

there have been vampire shows on for a whileee, people are just realizing it more because of twilight. moonlight and true bloods being a few examples. maybe some are feeding off twilight, but there are just as many that aren't. Just because twilight is the one people pay most attention to doesnt mean the other vampire shows/books/movies are ripoffs of it.

melrose place will be better than the 90210 remake/sequel.
and as for beautiful life. i love sara paxton but i already dont like this show. misha burton will always be marissa from the oc. and after she left the show i lost respect for her. and corben blu is too disney. it feels like a 7 year old cast the show. they should just go ahead and add miley and the jonas brothers into it.

SN and SV are there two highest rated shows next to Top Model (Ironic since CW is trying to be aimed at young women) so I guess they're trying to use both those two shows ratings to boost these news ones startups cause both SN and SV might be over after next year. I was all stoked about Melrose, but then these clips of it makes it look a bit trashy and tired. The dialogue is so cheap, and so unoriginal.
My interest was stolen in the Beautiful Life clips. Looks like such a great show, and I love me some Marissa Cooper (Mischa)!
