Clark Johnson was just magic on that show, I understand he's a director now. And the writing was just superb. A shame people didn't watch this as much as NYPD, which was just style over substance in my opinion.
How tall is Clark Johnson?. Celebrity heights has everybody's height except his, and comparing him to Reed Diamond (6'1"), Andre Braugher(6') and Kyle Secore (6'4), he's what, 6'2"? Either way, I'm surprised at how tall the LOTS guys really were, very few stood under 6'.
Go to my videos section. It's there...though I don't think it has sound. I'll try uploading a new one with sound soon though I'm afraid my account would get booted!
Yep, great scene from a groundbreaking show. I always did like Luther as an epic bad mother.
Game-fans should note that Erik Todd Dellums (Luther) is the voice of the hipster DJ Three Dog in Fallout 3, and he does a damn good job in that role too.
One of Clark Johnson's finest moments in the series. And one of those great scenes that make you despise the charismatic snake that is Luther Mahoney (great work by Todd Dullums).
Ahh, good stuff. I remember replaying over and over the scene when Luther gets owned by Mikey. Best scene ever! I cry with happiness every time I see it. Mike totally burned him too.
Mahoney: Watcha gonna do, detective? Read me my rights?
that one dude has GOT to be related to Makiah pfifer (I don't know how to spell that dudes name, but you know who I'm talking about.) they look TOO much alike.
Oh, I thought it was like when I saw Barber Shop for the first time and I was like "that dude looks like Lorenz Tate" and then it turned out to be his brother :)
Frank,Meldrick and whats her name were the best ones on the show.-the blonde-she was a babe-the one the Baldwin went out with, not Kay the other onshe was damn hot.
like I said-they should not have killed Luther off so fast-he was a great character.I loved hating him.He was teh personified bad guy.I actually rooted for him.
Homicide was and still is the best cop show I've ever seen. No happy endings, unclosed cases, flawed characters and the killers often shown to be just as human. In the UK it suffered from poor scheduling, I first saw it when I got in from a late shift. None of my mates watched it, they're now borrowing my dvds. Felt the loss when I watched the final episode. CSI is good, but it's no Homicide!
Thanks for posting these. Just heard the other day an interview on NPR from the guy who plays Lewis. He wrote the beginning and ending of "The Wire" and "The Shield". He said when he auditioned for "Homicide" there was no script to read, just read from the book it's based on. Mahoney was the CREEEEPIEST.
I love this show; Too bad hardly anyone else did. That says a lot about who we are as a society when shows like this are left in the shadows while a show like "Nash Bridges" can beat the crap out of it in the ratings.
I really, really agree. Only crappy shows survive now because that's what the majority of America watches. They ignore brilliant shows like Homicide: Life on the Street.
Agreed i loved this show and its the truth that not many people rememeber this show since it didnt appeal to those that didnt look for great acting from just a solid cast. This will remian as the best REAL TV show in my lifetime.

Homicide had Luther Mahoney.

Luther Mahoney was an AWESOME villian.
For anyone who appreciates irony:
Erik Todd DEllums dad is US Congressman Ron Dellums.
2. Another of Rep. Dellums' sons has spent over 30 years in prison for murder. He shot a man to death over a bag of marijuana.

Todd Dellums is among several from Homicide who later worked on The Wire. He was a medical examiner.

I used to love watching this after TGIF eating a big bowl of Breyers ice cream. Miss the 90s.

Ah the Luther Mahoney saga. The show went to shit after Junior Bunk got shot and Kellerman and Frank left.

Frank Pembleton & Meldrick Lewis were, by far, the best regular characters. Luther Mahoney is a fantastic bad guy character.

The Kid in the leather jacket, who played Luther Mahoney's nephew,Junior Bunk,is Mekhi Phifer of ER.
As a funny side note, the actor who played such a great Villain as Luther,Erik Dullems, had a cameo as a gay hairdresser in The Doors
