@elitestar he was using it without having it mounted to his camera, so i'd assume that it would work, because it doesn't seem to draw power from the hot shoe just the external power
These cost £40 ish on Amazon. The filter holding system is really bad (they fall out all the time) and the tripod mount can't be removed. The dimmer is good though - it can go from very dim to bright. There are better products on ebay for less money.
@CosplayFeverBook the yellow "filter" (we call them gels in the professional world) is used to match tungsten or any warm color temperature lighting. You will then have to adjust your white balance accordingly.
@michael1980123 LOL yes I know what they're for, and yes they are called gels AND THEY ARE ALSO CALLED FILTERS (ever heard of Lee FILTERS)? I'm a photographer by profession, and I'm telling you DO NOT use the yellow plastic gels / filters / whatever you choose to call them! The filters that come with these lights are junk and not proper CTO.
a company called INTELLYTECH sells this light and a bunch of others for cheaper than this company. And they distribute the light from the USA so it took only 2 days for the light to arrive. To find this light, just copy and past the item number 140526710195 into the eBay search area. Hope this helps, love this light and the cn-160 and cn-170!

@96pnm ebay item 230600493861 - just don't use the yellow filter. The filters that come with these cheap LEDs are terrible.
