I think the scene would have eneded funnier if after Sheldon spit out his last mouthful of rum (or whatever), Penny would have picked up the glass with tongs and dumped it in the sink.

Ya it's funny shelly would know the metric system but would forget the correct name for Canadian bacon = back bacon cause it comes from the back of the pig but does not taste like ham ( later on episode in season 4)
