  • ah,yes I was Lord President!

but only for his 5th regenerations!

    Since he left his post...

  • I wonder if the Valeyard is going to come up as a plot point in the current series being he's the Doctor between the 11th and 12th doctors.

  • @wynnefox He's meant to be between the 12th and 13th Doctor I believe.

  • The 6 doctor ( no matter the reputation the BBC gave him) he is one of the bests. He acts like a younger version of the 1th Doctor. He knows he is superior to all other life forms because he is a time lord and treats other races like children or he dislike them ( like the first doctor at the beginning). I like his egotistical attitude and his sense of superiority. The 9th doctor also shares this trait.

  • 'it's likely to be for more than a traffic offence related to his TARDIS flying!' AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH - no ¬_¬

  • Anyone else hear Dream Police by Cheap Trick playing in their head while watching this scene?

  • Doctor is a timelord troll. "The Brickyard" the "The Junkyard" the "Graveyard" or whatever else! have some resepct, doc!(for even your future self). Or you'll be held in contempt! She should have kicked him into the "blocked" zone before the first match.

  • WHO DO YOU THINK YOUR ARE BBC GOBLIN!!

  • wait wait wait someone help me here, the Doctor was lord president of galifrey? our Doctor?

  • @Adriene14

I think he got that title and delegated it straight away in the Five Doctors.

  • @metaphysik oh ok that makes much more sense. thanks!

  • @Adriene14 Loock The dedly Asassin, The invasion of time and the five doctors for that.

He was called to Gallifrey and arrived when the President wanted o resignate but was killed. So The Doctor should be executed as murderer and sved his live by making him a Candidate. When all was over, the othe candidate was dead and the 4th Doctor left Gallifrey. In invasion he came back (most likely some years older) and was automaticly president. After the invasion he gave the office away. After t5d he

  • @Adriene14 got offered the title after an emerency election of the high council, exceptet and left with the TARDIS. The 7th and 8th doctors will use the title again.

  • @ThomasFuchs7 now that sounds like the doctor. thanks for the info

  • Guys, all of the Doctors are fantastic. We all have our Doctor...mine is 9, as he's when I started to love Doctor Who. But they are all equally fantastic.

  • @randomcrazychik me to, i liked how he would actually get mad at people

  • @randomcrazychik And each and every one of the Doctors are destined to turn evil and become the Valeyard.

Like Four? He will become the Valeyard. Like Ten? He will become the Valeyard too. THe Valeyards existence here is a set in stone, absolute guarantee that the Doctor will stop being a hero. So it doesnt really matter what adentrues 11 goes through, we know he will end up the Valeyard and destroyed by his sixth self. Time has told. And history cannot be changed

  • @ReverendSyn the Valeyard was meant to be an entity created somewhere between his twelfth and final regeneration. And was meant to be the personification of the evil in The Doctor. So the doctor won't actually be a bad guy. The Valeyard is sort of like The Dream Lord. I pretty much got all that info off Google. :D

  • the time lords are complete gits!

  • When was the Doctor Lord President of Gallifry?

  • Is that Zoe Wannamaker?

  • @explorer47422 No "The Inquisitor" was played by Lynda Bellingham.

  • Personally I think that if you replaced any Doctor with another Doctor, regardless of the perception of different personas, they could carry off most of the lines of the other Doctor (if that makes sense - it does to me!!!)as the essential Doctorness is present (as far as I can tell) in all the incarnations seen to date

  • do you no where i can watch all of this

  • The fashion police finally caught up with the Doctor. He's screwed.

  • @KenoshiAkai sonicly screwed :P

  • @BellaSnowKitten1991 He is a really nice guy, his character is a bit pompous.

  • @BellaSnowKitten1991 It's part of his charm. You should listen to some of his audio work. The Doctor proclaims that he has moved from "insufferable" to "mostly bearable."

  • im curious to know how they'll deal with the Valeyard at the end of the new seasons ie at the end of Doctor Who...he's supposed to return as a future incarnation of the Doctor right?

  • Colin Baker player the doctor as a dick and Colin Baker refused to do the regeneration scene! He has ruined every regeneration montage on youtube!

  • @TheCohagen He refused to return because he was fired from the role. He planned to continue to for many more years and develop his character but Michael Grade decided he was crap and ruined the show.

  • @TheCohagen Actually Colin never refused to do the regeneration. Colin was under a 3 year contract, with a year still to go after Trial of a Time Lord. Michael Grade wanted Colin gone and asked him if he would leave. But with a year left on his contract Colin would have been unable to work so he said to Michael and I quote from the man himself, "Give me the whole of the next series and I'll go at the end of it". But Michael refused and decided to continue without Colin. That's the truth.

  • my doctor is the best, he lives in the tardis in my shirt pocket

  • lol the British!

  • I think he always has the same personality traits in each incarnation, they just seem to get 'mixed up'/ some personality traits are more dominant in some incarnations than in others. And the clothes, well, he just doesn't have a sense for thatXD It should have been evident by the time he accidentally picked up a more or less normal outfit (Series 1) and showed the same attitude than he did with the technicolor clothes. He really can't tell the difference XD

  • @KendrixTermina At least now we have River Song and Amy preventing him from sticking all too crazy things on his head. Now, I wonder what would've been if Amy and River had ever met Six and Peri XD Poor, poor Six. *six fan*

  • @KendrixTermina He wouldn't have given a toss what they'd have to say about his clothes. He's become a bit oversensistive about such things in his old age.

  • @MaskedMan66 No, I think he still doesn't care all too much, as he said in the Christmas Special "I wear this [the Bowtie] and I don't care! That's why it's cool!" and the series 6 trailer shows him trying to grab a hat at any possible occassion. River is just a tricky weasel hehe.

  • @KendrixTermina I would call that line an example of protesting too much.

  • @KendrixTermina That is too cruel. Six suffered enough.

  • Trial is massively underrated by fandom, in my opinion. Still, when I first watched it, I couldn't help but wonder - why did The Time Lords hold The Doctor's trial on a space frieghter? (Apparently, that's what it's meant to be)

  • So in the old Doctor whos, timelords were still alive?? is it all set before the war?

  • @c0ddlefl0p It was the 8th Doctor who ended The Last Time War in which Gallifrey was destroyed. And that of course led to regeneration and the new series starts soon after that.

  • @helkaonkoira 8th Doctor doesnt count. That was an American production and as such is non-canonical.

  • @ReverendSyn the existence, face and, well, steampunk-ish style of the 8th Doctor are canon (he's in the "I'm the Doctor, basically... run" scene of Eleventh Hour with the other ten). The DETAILS of the film are not.

  • @ReverendSyn No, he counts. They featured him in the new series along with the others. He was in John Smith's Journey of Impossible Things, and when the Eleventh Doctor showed a montage of his incarnations.

  • @c0ddlefl0p yep.

  • @c0ddlefl0p Yup. The War happens somewhere between the movie (which comes after the classics) and the new series. In fact, it was a running gag that he became president of Gallifrey every few seosons, only to run away real fast XD

  • All Doctor's were good, with the sole exception of David Tennant, who should be shot.

  • @billiepipersteeth f you okey maby you don´t think he is good but does he have to be shot?

  • @Imafanofyou11 Yes, very much so.

  • @billiepipersteeth and you are a giant troll hater =) good day

  • Right, that was fun...now i'm off out to down a few pints and transgress the first law

  • He's not a meddler, he can't help it xD

  • I hated this doctor the most. He was too pretentious for me.

  • i have only seen the doctors 9-11 and the 4th and 1st but i seem to like every single one they all have the same characteristics althought a bit different mostly identical, collin baker from the few clips i have seen, seems very good and similar to most doctors but definatly the worst dressed

  • @dbzfan988 Yeah, the whole idea was that Colin's Doctor was tasteless and was given a tasteless costume to compliment his personality.

  • what a genius character idea, whoever thought of the concept of regeneration should be given fuckin' medal

  • Colin Baker is clearly a brilliant actor - Evidence: Nice man playing someone you can easily hate, apparently.

  • isen´t the time lords dead

  • @Imafanofyou11 This was well before the time war. They all died then, in the doctors unseen 8th life.

  • @Imafanofyou11 So is Hitler, Elvis and Jacko but they still pop up in archive video footage.

  • change ton image ou j'appelle mon pere.

j'ai un ami proche qui est sort d HP pour avoir apsse un coup de fil de trop a une fille qui a porte plainte. crois moi.

  • I agree, each doctor is different and esp in the new series I can pick out mannerisms from the doctors from the past. I think this "I hate this doctor cos of this etc" is getting boring not every doctor has an amazing run with no naff stories that includes the new series, it's down to the script writers and director etc.

  • why is it everyone hates Colin Baker and his Doctor? he was a great doctor and actor, so, everyone stop hating him >:(

  • @AlexOoiue everyone hates him cos most of his stories were bad. this is not colins fault he was brilliant but JNT did what RTD did and took the series as if it was his own and pissed on it

  • @AlexOoiue I thought he was okay as a Doctor but the real human who plays him is actually not that nice a guy :( that's why I don't like him that much :( unfair but true

  • @pretear90 yeah i hope they do eventually include him but i have a funny feeling that the valeyard may have started the time war because as of yet the books and audio aren't canon yet and by the way you wouldn't just sit around and do nothing for so many years if you had the power to all the timelords ' technology or brainpower!

  • "You can't put me on trial, I'm the President!"

    Nice try.

  • but he is! he was made president and snuck off in the other Bakers time...

  • @doctorwhoinfo Yup, and in the fifth Doctor's time (although I still think they were trying to get rid of him...)

  • @doctorwhoinfo he was removed from office because of that

  • I loved the Valeyard from the old show and the Trials series. I hope the Valeyard will appear in the new series sooner or later he was so menacing

  • @PreTear90 Isn't this his final regeneration where he is in fact the Valeyard? So I would assume that we would have to see this in the new series. Unless he has altered his own time line. Sketchy and another loop whole :(

  • @LISOUND technically its an amalgamation of all the doctors so far but made evil

  • Meh, not a fan of Number Six.

  • Brilliant - The sixth Dr rocked - such a dark complex character - really added to the Doctor's depth - cheers for posting

  • DrWhoFreak100-This is the very first episode of The Trial of a Timelord broadcast on Saturday the 6th Sep 1986.

(i only know that because i looked it up in my episode guide before i wrote this).

  • the invasion of time

  • when did the doctor become president?

  • @stevealigheri The Five Doctors, I believe.

  • He originally ran for President in The Deadly Assassin to avoid (or at least delay) the death penalty. He took up the position in The Invasion of Time to flush out the people trying to invade Gallifrey and the in the Five Doctors he was almost strongarmed into office but did a runner instead (although really I think they were trying to get rid of him before he caused any more trouble).

  • what episode is this

  • @DrWhoFreak100

    the trial of a timelord

  • He sounds like someone off the antiques roadshow

  • wrong. also. mcoy is the best doctor.

  • Why can't people watch a clip without getting into the whole "my Doctor's better than your Doctor" crap?

  • because my doctors better than yours !

  • Or...because you lack self-control.

  • Mmm. Agreed. I mean, we all love Doctor Who! And the fact that the Doctor changes is what makes it great! Though I do admit I've only really seen 9 and 1...

  • The Doctor is the Doctor

each actor brought something unique to the role, things we cling to or adhere to.

each one was a great doctor thats what makes the tv show great...its what makes the Doctor great.

  • I agree. No matter what personal interpretations and unique quirks each actor brings to the role, The Doctor is still The Doctor, still the same character at his core, and the show is still amazing. I think this clip demonstrates that very well actually. In the way he reacts to being accused, I can see not only 6, but also shades of 4, 9, and 10! There are threads of his character that all of the actors have carried and that is part of the show's genius. I love Doctor Who! Not just "my Doctor"!

  • because youtube is home to the church of david tennant and tom baker. I love baker and like tennant but i don't say that my doctor (which happens to be all of them) is better than yours

  • @dbvixxen because nowadays the show has as many fangirls as anime. its really horrible in fact that the series has sunk so low.

  • @dbvixxen I love you!!! It's so annoying when people do that. I mean my favs are David T and Peter D but c'mon, who is saying who is better than who????? I mean I love Pat Troughton too, he was a close second to me and Matt is fantastic and news Colin I enjoyed too so just enjoy who you like!

  • @dbvixxen Yeah, it doesn't matter who's better. No matter which DOctor you like, the Valeyard guarantees that the character will end up a villain. Your favorite Doctor is just as fucked as everyone else's

It doesnt matter how much heroism your Doctor accomplished. It doesnt matter what your Doctor did. The Valeyard is an absolute guarantee of the Doctor's future. And he dies by the feedback from the particle disseminator,

It doesnt matter. Time has told. Your Doctor is doomed, regardless

  • @ReverendSyn UNLESS the Valeyard is from a canceled timeline, a possible future that exist no more. After all, he is in a trial with the Time Lords and we know that because of the timelock the Doctor cannot return to Gallifrey or meet the extinct timelords. Therefore the Valeyard came from a (scrapped) future where Gallifrey still stands. A Valeyard-like character could still emerge at some point, fueled by the Doctor self-loathing - see Amy's Choice.

  • @7Tremere Lest you forget that time is a ball of wibbly wobbly timey wimey.

  • @shuiyuki Of course, of course. About a future dark side of the Doctor: did you pay attention to Abigail's last song in the Christmas Special? "When you're alone, silence is all you see, When you're alone, silence is all YOU'll be."

And as the mysterious voice in the TARDIS said to River, "Silence will fall".

  • @ReverendSyn Well, unless something happens to change that future. He could just be the Doctor's possible future, rather than a certain one. Who knows.

  • @dbvixxen My doctor is your doctor your doctor is my doctor.

  • @dbvixxen Yeah. Doesn't matter who "Your Doctor" is. They're all just as destined to turn evil and become the Valeyard as all the others. As this storyline proves.

So quit arguing. Nomatter how much good your Doctor has done, he is doomed to become a villain. And he will get his own ass handed to him in the Matrix by himself. It's a guaranteed fact due to the existence of the Valeyard. Time has already told.

  • @ReverendSyn The Valeyard is not a future incarnation of the Doctor. He is the dark potential created during his final regeneration that was extracted from the Matrix by the Time Lords. Yes, I know that I'm a nerd.

  • @dbvixxen Cos my doctor is better than your doctor is all part of the fun don't you think? =)

  • @emmahouli Not really. It just creates way too many fights among fans.

  • @dbvixxen I think that is more the fans fault that the discussion topic itself, Also youtube is a breeding ground for fights because people are not able to articulate well enough to convey tone in the small amount of characters we are aloud type in (hence the great invention of the smily face =))

When it turns into a fight yeah I agree with you, its just crap, but when it is an actual talk between fans, then it is all just part of the fun

  • dude i know why your getting thumbed down. its cos youtube is the home of the church of david tennant. if it wasn't for JNT they would agree with you. i do. if you watch some of his stories, especially the dalek cybermen and sontaran one (and the trial season obviously) i am sure they would agree

  • 0:40 Mastermind!

    Your name?

    The Doctor

    Age?

Approximately 900 give or take a decade.

    And your specailist subject?

The life and times of Davros.

  • :O Look at the doctor's coat! He's the REAL Doctor Hue!! xDDD

  • Be careful, there. Those who practice wordplay in the Gallifreyan court are bound to be PUNished...

  • I like Doctor Hue better ._.

  • *SPOILER AHEAD for those who haven't seen this before*

So if the Valeyard IS indeed the Doctor between, was it the 11th and 12th regeneration? Do you think that Nu Who will do a storyline somehow involving him turning evil? If the popularity still lasts after DT goes anyway.

  • what the heck? I have no idea what you are talking about. That's because i haven't watch the "old" episodes. Have you watched all of them?

  • Sorry, do you mean about who the Valeyard really is or something else?

  • ...I don't know :P

Have have no idea who the Valeyard is and anything else because i have only watched the "recent" episodes. I was just wondering if you watched all of the old ones.

  • Ohhh! Well the Valeyard is the guy accusing the Doctor in this video ^up there^ and well he turns out to be a future baddie Doctor, some time between his 11th and 12th regenerations, this is all a trick, so that he can steal his past self's regenerations...if that makes any sense haha.

I've watched a few, not every single one, but I did used to watch classic who when I was younger.

  • they planned the story out THAT far ahead??? Wow... what an awesome series. Can't wait for it to return. :D

  • Well I'm not too sure! It would make sense for them to follow up on it, but they might not and just figure out a way that they won't have to do a "Baddie Doctor" story.

  • But i'm sure they have made many events that correspond with the Doctor's future. It'd be hard to use them all with out creating a plot hole ( I think that's the term :P )

  • sorry, i don't think no matter how evil the doctor got he wouldn't do that. It would cause a paradox which would probably make him cease to exist.

  • Ah well he does in this anyway lol, and it's all wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff, works out in the end ^_^

They probably won't do that, just throwing ideas around!

  • i don't think they can revist this. the time war is still shrouded in mystery bt from what i can tell gallifrey is destroyed at all points in time so the doctor can never go there unless he somehow undones the time war.

  • Ah that's very true. I dunno, as I say they probably won't, lol.

  • The Valeyard gets created at the end of the Doctor's 12th incarnation. Unless the BBC decides otherwise.

  • How do I find this whole episode?

  • LOL, that's it.

  • This is 'Trial of timelord' which was originally broadcast in 1986.

Trial of a TL was split into 4 parts which where spit into 14 parts.

I'm am pretty certain this is The Mysterious Planet which was Trial of a Timelord One.

  • There's loads of classic Who episodes on Daily Motion, even Trial of a Timelord, but I don't think they have the whole season up just yet. But I know I saw this one which is called The Mysterious Planet.

  • colin for some reason had his hair bleached blonde and was asked to grow it long for this series!!! i don't know why perhaps someone can tell me!!

  • Colin's hair was much wackier in this season

  • if she stands in front of a huge spotlight, do you think Batman would show up?

  • Yes.

  • Never cared for Colin's Doctor. The Valeyard, well, they were well matched! Marvelous, high-camp, mystery- drama.

  • even in the future or alternate reality-noone uses the public defender-haha

  • oy i'm glad they occasioanally change the look of the tardis- that one is possible the ugliest i've seen. looks so-idk. plastic? fake? ...i do wish the entire classic series on on dvd though...hard to call myself a fan when i dont have all that history as well

  • omfg the Valeyard!!!

  • I abosultely love the arrogance of the 6th Doctor. He's bloody awesome!

  • You cut out the best shot of the entire series! Just before the TARDIS lands, it is dragged towards the space ship. CGI will never beat it.

  • First episode of The Trial of a Time LOrd was good, - just a shem the rest of the season went downhill.

  • Y'know, it seems like ToaT is little more than the Doctor's regular adventures - with the bullish commentary of the Valeyard.

  • 'Okay, Doctor. Let's just hope your skills in court are better than your "assemble an outfit that matches" skills.' :)

  • Even if they written an 18 part adventure of Doctor Who not even that would stop

Doctor Who getting put on Tele cause us Doctor Who fans especially me would still watch it no matter how many episodes it has to one adventure. Just a petty that Mel didn't get to meet a Dalek, just think at the end of part one if Mel was to meet a Dalek think of that Scream she would have done if she had met a Dalek down a corridor theme sting at the end of that.

    Dalek: Exterminate! Mel: Augh!!!

  • I loved Trial of the Timelord especially when Sil came back. I loved the idea of the past meeting the present in the Ultimate Foe when the Master came back that Mel met the Doctor in the Court Room. Just a shame they did the Court Room scenes of it for 5 hours and 30 minutes. They should have edited the scenes out and made it like Colin Baker's first season. Well even the 14 part adventure of Trial of the Timelord didn't stop Doctor Who getting put on Tele cause Sylvester McCoy came along.

  • Its a pitty the Timeords died out

  • once leader of the oldest and most powerful race the universe has and will ever know?

now THAT is something to be proud of :)

  • I loved how Colin kept calling the Valeyard, Mr. Courtyard, The Graveyard, The Boatyard and so on :D

  • That's not true, but you are entitled to your opinion.

  • Well that's great to know, thanks.

  • I love that bit in Part 13 when the truths coming out and the Valeyard tries to stop it and the Doctor just shouts, "I don't think so STACK YARD!" Brilliant writing :)

  • Colin's timing is superb! So sadly underrated!

  • lord PRESIDENT of galifrey? he was president???

  • For about fourty-five seconds he was indeed President...and prior to that, President elect in "The Invasion of Time", but his memory of that event was lost when he stopped the Sontarans.

  • He was given the presidency in the 5 doctors, but chose to travel in his TARDIS. Not being on Gallfrey he was deposed.

  • That is colin baker's own hair -although now his hair is snow white & not curly -the man playing the valeyard is now in the british soap emmerdale.

  • The Valeyard, Michael Jayston, did a splendid portrayal of the last Russian tsar in 'Nicholas and Alexandra' (1970) and he is also my favourite 'Mr. Rochester' (I have seen 9) in 'Jane Eyre' (BBC's mini-serial 1973). It is hilariously funny to watch him in the Valeyard-costume!

  • I don't mean to be rude, but is that his real hair?

  • WHERE CAN I FIND THIS WHOLE EPISODE!

  • Whole season (which was generally lambasted by fans, incidentally) is coming out as a boxed set sometime this year.

  • It should be on Youtube...

  • colin baker is the most under rated, i've watched quite a few stories now, and he is definately one of the best.

  • He was very good but the chareter became obnoxious and arrogant and I hatet that.

That is not to say I didn't like Colin Baker.

  • the valeyard is a great charture.

the dark side of the doctor.

  • the valeyard is actually the marster

  • How do you know?

Sorry, I am quiet ignorant to this :-)

  • you find out in the last episode of the trial of the timelords.

  • You find out that the Valeyard is an 'evil' version of the Doctor somewhere between his 12th and 13th incarnations. The Master is in the last episodes but he's not the Valeyard.

  • The valeyard is actually the DOCTOR. Not the master.
