I think this is the story of a woman who was madly in love with someone once, but lost touch/broke up/the person died, and now she's trying desperately to forget that person but she can't. (hence "Now I'm looking for you or anyone like you") The fact that she seems to be a stripper underlines the fact that her life has fallen apart since then. She can't sleep, drinks, kills time... it's like mourning, really.
