  • The best thing is to leave the ink-jet printer power on because they all authomaticall do things to prevent nozzles and ink drying up. When you turn them on and off, they clean the nozzles each time and hem and haw and waste ink.

    With the HP mobile printer, you have to believe that HP realizes that this particular model may sit unused for months at a time and that they have done something to prevent everything from drying out. Hence, I would rely on any automatic power features.

  • These were great (Part I & II)... very helpful. For those of us with laser printers as our office models, would like to know more about maintaining the ink in InkJets. As a "travel" or "occasional" printer, I'm wondering what I need to do to conserve ink if I store the printer for a long time (days to weeks). Does the ink dry out? Can I seal the ink cartridges somehow between uses? Thanks: BC
